It was an odd time of day, yet they still paid very close attention to us. They made some of the best dirty martinis I've had in a while. My friend and I found this place on a whim our last night in old Wyom' for a celebratory nightcap for a job well done and to cap off a great week in a beautiful place. Big shout out to Hannah behind the bar for treating us so well and serving DELICIOUS drinks. Front St absolutely rocks. The vegan/veg food from next door is always delectable - highly recommend the Buffalo cauliflower wings. Awesome drink menu and fabulous bar staff. They've done a really great job with COVID safety regulations including having a bouncer on busy nights to keep the numbers down. My roommates and I have only recently started exploring more of the local scene, but we immediately fell in love with Front Street when we came by a while ago! I tend to be picky about my drinks but I had a great time getting to explore some of their drinks including their seasonal ones! We're absolutely excited to come by again, the atmosphere and drinks are all incredible, it feels welcoming from when you walk up to the door, and our bartenders were so incredibly kind and we had great conversations with them! My favorite "go to" establishment in Laramie. They serve meals off the menu from Sweet Melissa's next door so I come in here for lunch because I get great service. And beer (which to be fair, I can get beer next door). Today's beer menu: O'dell - IPA Snake River - Vienna lager Avery White Radicle - Belgium White Deschutes - Black Butte Porter O'dell - St. Lupulin extra pale ale Slow Poke session IPA Plus a huge list of specialty drinks including their signature mint mojito, classic cucumber martini, and a seasonal brandy Alexander. I wasn't going to review Front Street Tavern because we were just passing through for the night and my friend works here (and it would have felt biased)...but then we ate the food. Couldn't help myself. Great service, strong cocktails, and a neat ambiance. Good selection of local beers. But the food blew us away. Had cauliflower wings (BBQ & Buffalo), dolmas, jerk ravioli, and the banh mi and I don't exaggerate when saying that it's one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. Can't recommend the ravioli or wings highly enough. For those who are afraid of vegetarian/vegan fare, don't be. You wouldn't even notice at Front Street if it wasn't advertised. Neither of us are vegetarian and we loved every bite. Highly recommend and a must-try in Laramie! read more

FST used to be one of my favourite places donwtown in Laramie, but in August 19th I had a hard time with one the bartenders which was also the MANAGER that night. After politely ordering a glass of water he yelled to me me: Back off!... Stop dragging this cup in my face... You're not in the line!" Shocked, and trying to understand what was going on, I start saying to some guys pointing to him "that guy was not able to give me a damn cup of water..." And I was glad that my friend saw that in order to not letr my add or being misleading with that fact. First of all: even if I was a annoying drunk one he should not treat me that way. Second, there was people ordering beverages (which means that there wasn't queue) Thirdly, I swear that I wasn't showing my cup off at his face. Many assumptions came on my mind that what could make him being aggressive that way. Then I was stopped by the entrance guard of going into the bar again, after going to a friends car for taking my supposed lost phone. It was a terrible time. I had not the opportunity of talking with the bartender, well, I was waiting that he would come to my meeting with Melissa which is the owner of the venue. read more

When front street isn't packed from wall to wall, it's a tie for my favourite bar in Laramie (tied with the Library). Front Street has the best raspberry mojito on earth. Front Street Tavern has a great atmosphere, and the music is never too loud even when they've invited one of the several local rock bands to play in house. These are two very important aspects of Front Street for me because I typically went there on Monday evenings to do some work -- reading and writing. Front Street provided me enough background white noise that I could do my work without worrying about what other patrons thought about me and without worrying that the music would be too loud. The beer selection is quite good. Hipsters love the place, largely because of the availability of not just PBR but also Schlitz. I love the place because of the Schlitz, which I guess makes me a hipster. An old one at that. I'd go back again and again just for the Schlitz. Because it is owned by the same proprietor as Sweet Melissa's, customers of Front Street can order from their menu. I tended to do that on a Monday evening, even if it was ordering their famous falafel sliders! The customer service is great here, too. The bartenders are attentive to your needs, even if you're not sitting at the bar. Equally so, they're among the smartest and most intellectually curious bartenders I know. It wasn't uncommon for me to ask them a question about what I was working on, and I could always rely upon them for having a view about whatever it is I was asking. Front Street is a lovely bar with comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere. The reason I prefer this tavern over any other in Laramie is that it offers a mature heir of sophistication amongst the many college bars in town. There is a reasonable selection of microbrews on tap, and a moderate selection of wines. Considering that Front Street is an extension of the wonderful restaurant next door, Sweet Melissa's, the friendliness of the staff of that establishment overflows into the tavern. The only drawback of Front Street is that seating can be an issue on the busier (weekend) evenings. read more

Front Street makes great drinks, no complaints there. The prices are good and happy hour specials knock a dollar off of every drink. Food from Sweet Mel's next door can be ordered until well into the evening, which is nice. Any bar with this sort of beer list gets 5 stars. From local micro brews to the age old goodness of Samuel Smith, they've got it all. I started with some great local stuff, then moved on to Samuel Smith. I'd love to be a regular at this place. Sadly, I was on a cross country road trip and just stopped by for dinner and a drink. I'd love to eat at Sweet Melissa's, then get tanked here, then eat again at Sweet Melissa's. Ahhhh, maybe in another life. I went here with my friend last night and the service was top shelf! They have amazing drinks that are original and fresh! On top of that our bartender, don't know his name but he has a thick beard, was extremely helpful and accomodating, knowledgeable about the menu, and made me and my friend feel very safe when other customers were making us uncomfortable, which is hard to find but very meanful as females in a college town! Love this place! Great beer list and cocktails. The Moscow mules in their little copper mugs are delicious. One night a couple weeks ago I ordered a late dinner of four cheese lasagna, their special that day, which was brought over from Sweet Melissa's next door. The lasagna was wonderful - savory, gooey - and served in its own miniature baking dish alongside two hunks of crusty baguette. Yum! As noted by other reviewers, the place does tend to get packed around drinking time Friday & Saturday. I seem to have been giving a lot of high reviews to places in Laramie, but the truth is they merit them - especially when read contextually -- this is in Wyoming in a town that's at least an hour away from a city. So to have SOMEthing is good, but to have things that are GREAT is worthy of praise. This is the best bar in any city where I've lived and I bounce around college towns frequently: Bloomington, Lansing, Ann Arbor, with stints working in Phoenix and NYC. Have yet to find a place as special as this bar. The cocktails are my thing here, despite having very good regional craft beer on tap. $5-7 for a truly well made Moscow Mule, Corpse Reviver, Last Word, Old Fashioned, etc. is a steal. The ambiance and back bar with the train rolling outside give it just the right mix of chemistry. Is this a hipster place? Well, I guess, but keep in mind Laramie hipster is difficult to differentiate from regular run of the mill person wearing Chacos, flannel, and ski caps. I guess what some people want to politely imply is that this bar is decidedly less cowboy than, say, the Buckhorn. Big beards win out over big belt buckles here. Love this place!! The bartenders were so friendly and fast. I had a gimlet (or two), and it was fantastic--some places use a weird lime syrup instead of using fresh lime juice. There isn't anything like this in Casper, so I was incredibly pleased with the service, the environment, and the clientele. Best bartenders and staff in town. Even when the place is packed they provide the best service. The drinks are made with care and you get your money's worth. The food is rich and to die for.
