I will never fly Frontier Airlines again.
In December, I flew Frontier to the Dominican Republic with my wife and our 1-year-old for Christmas. When we landed, in the chaos of getting off the plane with a baby, my wife accidentally left her purse behind. We noticed immediately and informed the crew right away.
A Frontier employee helped us and showed us a picture of the purse in a WhatsApp group chat that Frontier employees use, showing that multiple employees were actively communicating about it. My wife immediately confirmed it was her purse and felt relieved knowing the staff had it. The employee then walked us to the Frontier check-in office area while she went back to the gate to retrieve it.
When she returned, her demeanor had completely changed. She went from friendly to nervous, avoiding eye contact and looking down at the floor. We were just relieved to have the purse back, especially since it contained $900 in cash.
My wife, grateful for the help, went to give her a tip. That is when we discovered $500 was missing.
When confronted, the employee denied knowing anything about the money and called another Frontier employee on speakerphone. That employee stated there was only $450 in the purse when she handed it over. This raised a serious question: why was a Frontier employee opening and counting the cash in my wife's purse at all?
When the purse was finally returned to us, there was only $400 inside. Even by their own statements, money went missing while the purse was in Frontier employees' possession.
We asked to speak with a supervisor or anyone who could help us. The Frontier office was completely empty. We were only pointed to a phone number taped to the door. I called it while standing there. No one answered.
I then called Frontier corporate. The agent sounded genuinely concerned and guided me to file a lost item report. After weeks of emails stating they were still investigating, Frontier closed the case claiming they could not locate an item matching the description, despite the purse having already been recovered.
That response felt like a slap in the face. Frontier is aware their employees handled our belongings, opened my wife's purse, and that cash went missing, yet they chose to do nothing.
The final line in their email said, "We appreciate your business and we hope to welcome you onboard Frontier Airlines again." That is genuinely insulting. Your employees are stealing from customers and you end it with a smile.
Traveling with a baby is already stressful. Being robbed and then dismissed by the airline made this experience unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. I will never, ever fly Frontier again. read more
