My internet service "started" on 10/20, it is now 11 days later and I am still not connected - Happy Halloween! After countless useless chats with their awful AI chatbot "Giga" (which does not even allow you to type half the time), and fruitless conversations with customer support in another continent, I have been told I will be connected to internet in 72 hours - but frankly, I am not holding my breath. My advice - do not agree to their services unless they send a technician to your house to install the internet. If you choose the self install option and something goes wrong, it will be nearly impossible to get a real, local human on phone that can come to your location to troubleshoot. Once you go from potential customer to paying customer, their treatment of you changes. EDIT: Per the response of the comment from Frontier, I reached out to their Facebook account and was able to get connected to a real human, who created a ticket for a technician to come out to my house on 11/05 and fixed the issue. So far no internet problems. I wish I didn't have to reach out through social media in order to get effective help, but I am happy with the internet speed I have. EDIT2: They wanted to charge me to 150 dollars for hooking up the service they are charging me for, so I had to connect to customer support who waived the fee (screenshot attached). We have been trying to lower our expenses due to our age, and we realize that frontier was relatively expensive. We have been trying to cancel our service so that we can go to a lower price service. This has been taking more than a month or longer. They will not give us a disconnect service trying instead to get us to go to something cheaper from them. Frontier crews came through our neighborhood about two weeks ago, tearing up yards in order to install Frontier cable. They did an excellent job restoring the areas they had disturbed. That was the positive. The negative: In spite of a clearly posted sign stating "No solicitation" at the only entrance to our neighborhood, a Frontier salesman went door-to-door at dinnertime yesterday attempting to sign people up for their services. We have two "No Soliciting" signs at our house and two loud dogs. For the third time in a year a Frontier person came by to try and sell services. When I politely said we had no soliciting signs for a reason and to not try and sell me anything, he was extremely rude. He said, "Well you have a roofing sign in your yard and I know they're local". I replied, "That's because I called them and then hired them to do a job, that's not soliciting. I refused to hire anyone who knocked on my door unannounced." He then said, "I've never had anyone turn down free money. Weird you don't want someone to give you advice on how to improve your services." I had to just shut the door because he just kept rambling at me. Firstly, you had a weeks long outage in our neighborhood so I'd never use you. Worse internet service. It is only up and running half of the time. We experience so called outages multiple times a week with some lasting days. Customer service is no help. We should get credit for all of the downtime because we're paying for a service we don't get. You're out of luck if you work from home. It is hard to believe these are always outages. I think they randomly disable service for various reason when they choose. There should be a class action suit to compensate every customer who experiences these constant outages. read more

Their automated "customer service" line will literally hang up on you if you want to talk to a person or if you would prefer to use the key pad instead of talking. Their service goes out about every week or so for at least half the day, even on completely clear days, with absolutely no prorating of the bill or any compensation for such outages. In the past two months, we've lost internet, and our phone service, and since we dropped cable services, and only use streaming, our TV/movies source twice for extended periods of time. The first day, they denied an outage, though over 30 people were without service. They finally said there was an outage and took nearly the whole day to get truckers in our subdivision. After nearly 48 hours, it was restored. Our son is a middle school student, and had to have us message his teachers because nearly all his homework is on a laptop that requires an internet connection. Today, it's gone out again for everyone using them in our subdivision, but they don't know the problem or have an estimate of restoration. We've had it. We're switching tonight. Who knows how long it will be down this time. I hate them, and I would rather go back to Comcast. They had crappy customer service, but mostly they charged you for things they shouldn't have. March 24th comes and they say they called me to confirm the appointment and I didnt answer while I was at work, and this was two hours before they were supposed to show up. My husband and I just moved to a rural town where only Frontier or Mediacom were our options for internet. We chose Frontier (mistake) and have currently been waiting 1 month for a technician to come out and connect our internet. We had to wait for a third party who is in contact with Frontier to come to our house to dig and put in a new cable. That took forever and once that was done we were just waiting for Frontier to come out. We had a scheduled appointment for them to come out from 1-5pm. My husband left work early to be at our house, as it states someone needs to be home when they connect the internet. No one ever showed. We never got any notification about Frontier not coming, no updates, literally giving zero effort/laziness on their end. You can tell they do not respect their customers time. We called about 4 different numbers listed under Frontier out of the 10 million listed to choose from. After finally getting through the automated voice and to an actual person, no one could give us an asnwer as to why no one came out. Do not use Frontier unless you plan to stay forever. They charge you a fee to drop off and ship UPS, I get it to cover cost, no way it costs that much. THEN they charge YOU $53.50 as a disconnection fee. Mind you, YOU did all the physical work. They flipped a button on a computer. I have so much to say about Frontier. First, don't EVER get their "services". I have been in my apartment for 2 months now and only had very slow working internet for 2 weeks out of those 2 months. We had it scheduled for it to be set up the day we moved in, we had 3 different technicians come out and say they can't set up my internet (while I was already paying for it) because faulty wiring or other varies excuses (in reality they admitted their shift was about to end so they don't have time). But the real cherry on top that had me end my service in just 2 months was that they never sent me a bill, not in paper mail, not on email, not anywhere. So when I called to figure out why I have no service they said I now have $200 in collection from my bill plus interest plus convenience fee for paying over the phone plus cancellation fee. I don't have frontier and I will never have frontier. This is the second time in a year they cane to my home to try and sell me their service. This time however, my husband went to get our dinner while I was dealing with the kids dinner 530 pm. No car in the driveway. When he knocked I just ignored him in hopes he'd go away. After the third knocked I hollered for him to go away. He kept knocking. My dog was loosing it. I answered the door and he would not take no for an answer. He presented himself as a distract manager looking very unprofessional. I asked my husband to try to get his card or name if he saw him when he was on his way home but he was being yelled at by another neighbor. And then I went to call to complain and customer service was closed! So y'all can harass me but I can't call and complain about it! I was home alone with my children. Scheduled a technician to come out right away, due to working at home, I was losing calls from intermittent connection. It has been going on awhile but was needed fixed due to work. I had to go in to the office the day the tech came out. My wife informed me that he didn't check anything just gave excuses and handed us their router to try, although tech said ours was still better...I have been getting charged for using their router when I haven't been using it... I use to work for spectrum internet and they had gadgets to check the cables and would thoroughly check everything. On hold for 25 minutes, billed the full amount instead of predating the first 4 days of the month then tell me I have to go through another billing cycle before I get a refund. I was told by the customer service representative on the 4th of April that I wouldn't be billed further. The only thing the supervisor kept saying was, " I can understand you feel that way." I have to agree Frontier customer is truly the worst, for the over 6 months I have requested that they mail my father bill to my address or to send to his new address and every month I have to call in. They claim to have the right address, but me or him have not received a bill yet. Every time I call in it is the same old mess, we need your pin number and I keep telling them that my father had to be moved from his old address and we can not locate any of his old bills with the pin number on it. I signed up with Frontier 2 weeks ago and it's been a nightmare. First I was told that Fort Wayne had no TV available only the internet/phone. I was told my internet would be $24.95/month. I received a bill of $131.00. I've been on the phone to Frontier a lot and always get transferred to different people with different answers. So unprofessional! I had no internet for 2 weeks and 2 technicians out to fix the connection. The 2 technician was rude and mean. All I want to do is terminate my service! Started service 6/16 and had nothing but trouble - our devices wouldn't connect and when they did the buffering was terrible. We disconnected our service because it was not working like they said it would in 8/16. Since then they billed us 8/31/16 for $181.19 and then 9/7/16 we received another bill for $18.61. I spent hours talking to billing dept and got NOWHERE ! There is no option to talking on the phone to a live agent to discuss issues. I was forced to text someone, which just isnt the same. Then I'm frustrasted because a visiting 5 year old child ended up renting 5 movies, and they would only credit 2 because they said that they had been watched. The fact is that I purposely set up a parental code to avoid this happening, but apparently I did not do it on the main box so it did not set up the code on the other boxes. Next time ill check reviews before blindly choosing an internet provider because service is $30 per month. 1st they do a hard pull on your credit which stays for 2 years. When we did a vacation stay for 8 months, I guess it was up to us to remember when our billing cycle would start again. Because without notice it became active again. Now im being charged $52 for service i did not even know i had access too for a month. They refused to reverse charges because they do not pro-rate billing and wanted us to sign a new contract for a $90 a mo. We canceled indefinitely. read more

I would never recommend Frontier to anyone and I don't even have their services! Their employees are lazy and don't complete jobs. They left a line unburied in my yard for over a week in the tall grass and my husband ran it over with our mower. They were supposed to send someone out to take pictures for an insurance claim but never did. I'm stuck fixing my mower, that has been broke for over 3 months now, out of pocket.
