I want to offer a balanced review of my experience with Frontier, so you can be aware and decide if this is the internet company for you. I moved into a newer apartment complex in New Tampa and chose Frontier as my internet service provider. The customer service, setup, technician service, and service in general were good. No issues. I recently tried to cancel my Frontier internet service because I'm moving out of state after 18 months. First, I checked their website to see if I could transfer service, but it wasn't available. Then I tried to cancel online, only to find out you can't--you have to call an agent. After working a 12‑hour overnight shift, I called customer service, exhausted but determined to cancel by the end of the month. When I finally reached an agent, I explained my situation and asked to cancel. Instead of helping me, he stalled and kept pushing questions and sales pitches. He asked things like how I knew Frontier couldn't cover my new apartment, who was moving into my old place, and whether they'd want Frontier service. I told him repeatedly that I didn't have that information and that I just needed my service canceled. No matter how many times I asked, he ignored me, kept putting me on hold, and followed what felt like a script designed to keep me as a customer rather than listening to me. I was frustrated, exhausted, and felt completely unheard. All I wanted was a straightforward cancellation, but instead, I was met with resistance and pressure. Finally, I was not getting satisfaction and ended the call. I called back, luckily got another agent, and got my services cancelled. However, as a consolation prize, Frontier is charging me a $50 restocking fee after 18 months of use. What? So, if you want consistent, good internet service, do not mind the runaround when you wish to cancel your services, and are okay with being penalized a $50 fee for returning the equipment, this is the company for you! I highly advise you avoid this company. After using their service for 4 years, they shut down our service based on the request of the new customers who were purchasing our home from us. I use wireless for my work so I was in a very unpleasant situation the last two weeks of living in our home. This is the only utility company I have ever heard of that shuts down services without speaking to the homeowner first to verify. Then, to top things off, they had the audacity to send us a $58.00 bill, with threat of collection, for a disconnect fee, two months after we left the property. Yes, you read that right - they charged us $58.00 as a final con job and then told us they do this to everyone when they end their service with them. read more

After 12 years with frontier and begging for a new router compatible with my upgraded 1 gig speed we decided to switch to spectrum for better speed at a lower price since frontier delayed sending router. when I tried to cancel my service they offered me an overnight router, a tech to set it up, 3 months free and retro billing at my new monthly price of 49$ fixed for 3 years. I said spectrum installed their faster equip same day so I declined the offer. The lady got aggravated and started rattle off termination fees and returned equipment restock fees. Inwas like you were willing to give me hundreds of dollars in service incentives to stay now you want to nickle and dime a 12 year customer. What a joke. read more

My Frontier home internet experience has been a rollercoaster to say the least. My family recently moved back to the Tampa area and needed a significant Wi-Fi service for our home. Because of their fiber capabilities, we chose Frontier's 2gb option for 69.99 per month. For one reason or another, the internet option to sign up wasn't working and needed to call to set up service. The lady who we first dealt with could not have been any nicer, but she needed to cancel the first order for receiving service because of a typo. We immediately ordered the exact same service after correcting the typo. A week goes by and we receive our router and tried setting up internet. It turned out, however, that the original order was the only one that came up on my account. After trying to remedy this over three separate phone calls, the account was still not coming up over the app. Because Frontier doesn't allow you to set up the internet outside of their app, we couldn't set up our internet. The following day a (very helpful and nice) tech came out and set up our router. Shortly after this, we realized that we would need to utilize Frontier's whole-home Wi-Fi service to reach all corners of the home. Because the app still only had the old order attached to my account, I couldn't use the app at all to upgrade our services. At this point, dealing with this problem for several weeks now, I wanted out. I called to cancel our services and the representative from Customer Retention convinced us to retain our services. We came to the conclusion that we needed to reset the account and, from that point, we could have access to the account information. The only problem was because we had yet to receive a bill and because I didn't have access to anything online, I did not have the four-digit account code to make any changes to the account. The representative allegedly ordered the code to be shipped via USPS to the service address. At that point, we were to receive a call back from her scheduled at 8:30 AM on Friday (today) to try and fix the issue. 8:30 comes and goes and I have yet to receive a phone call nor the code in the mail. I called to, once and for all, cancel my service earlier this morning. The representative I was connected to was less than helpful. I went into the call understanding that this problem wasn't this particular representative's doing and cut her some slack. She mumbled the entire time to the point where I couldn't understand what she was saying 50% of the time. Not only that, when I asked to cancel my service, they were to charge me $90 for the 2gb service (even though I purchased it at 69.99) and $50 for a cancellation/restocking fee. I asked her where the $50 restocking fee came from and she said it would be on my account (which I still do not have access to) and on my bill (which I still do not have access to). Later on in the call, I was able to pick up on every other word where she asked, "when would you like your service to be disconnected?" I said, "tonight at midnight." Lo and behold, our internet dropped within two minutes of ending the call. So now I am writing this on my phone's hotspot. Wholly unsure why this whole process had to be as difficult as it was. I was a customer looking to set up internet and UPGRADE my account. I tried giving them a second chance when I first talked to the Customer Retention representative but the fact that I had cleared my schedule to take this call and never heard from them really sent me over the edge. read more

My husband and I visited a store in Riverview while exploring alternatives to our current internet and television provider. The representatives encouraged us to bundle internet and phone services as well, but we chose to start with television service to evaluate the experience. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The sales staff assured us that we could cancel the service at any time without penalties. However, this proved to be inaccurate. When our service went down over the weekend, there was no support available, leaving us without television until Monday. Even then, scheduling a technician took several additional days, extending the disruption. In addition to the service outage, we found the remote difficult to use and the channel selection unsatisfactory. Based on these issues, we decided to cancel the service, expecting only to pay for the time we had used it. My billing cycle runs from the 10th to the 29th, yet I was explicitly told that Frontier does not prorate services--meaning I am being forced to pay for days of service I literally cannot use. Let me be clear: this is not a case of choosing to cancel early. Frontier does not service my new address, yet I am still being charged for a full billing cycle with zero consideration or adjustment. To make matters worse, I was also informed of a $50 "restocking fee" just to return their equipment. So in addition to paying for unused service, I'm being charged extra to give their equipment back. This billing practice feels predatory and completely disregards basic customer fairness. Charging customers for services that cannot be provided--while adding unnecessary fees on top--is unacceptable. If you're considering Frontier, be aware of their rigid billing policies and lack of customer-focused solutions. customer service is a zero. Buried fiber optic line and broke sprinkler system line at a T connection. Was told to file a claim, which I did. Received nothing but texts saying "sorry, we'll get to you soon". After 2 months I did my own repair. Frontier stated they would reduce billing $10 each month for first year to resolve. While the service is working, their Fiber 1Gig options is very quick, however, I just had my first outage today (4 weeks after install) and the customer service is non-existent. Regarding customer service alone, it would be a zero rating. First, went to their app, but it insisted that no outages were present in my area (well, that was false). Then started a chat, but the bot went on for 1.5 hours with notices of please wait ... finding an agent. About 45 minutes in, I also called customer service, only to stay on hold with no help for another 45 minutes, with constant message for me to try out the Frontier App. Finally, I received a text, where Frontier acknowledged that there was in fact a "data outage" and to expect a fix in another 2 hours. I have contacted Frontier customer service and technical support five times. Each time, I was instructed to reboot the router. I've had Frontier before -- tried it again to see if speed was better and didn't like it. When I tried to cancel, I was told I'm in a contract and have to pay both a restocking fee and an early termination fee -- after spending over an hour on the phone. The sales representative signed all the documents on his phone because he said he had a bad connection. He told me it was a month-to-month plan and that I could cancel anytime if I wasn't satisfied. Frontier has overcharged us for multiple years including now charging me $150 (full month's bill for 10 days of service. When I asked why, the representative ignored my response over 4 times. When I disconnected the representative on the phone said they would send the shipping labels to my address. This was done on 02/18... We never got the boxes. It is 03/01 and we have not received anything. If I had not asked today we would've never been able to send the equipment back, and now we will have to travel with all of that equipment to our new home despite having limited space... Meaning we will have to leave some of our possessions behind to make room for the modems.... Spectrum would have never done this to us... read more

I cancelled my account because I moved. I provided my new address. The associate I spoke to didn't know what my final balance would be. The associate I spoke to did not update my address, but she did cancel my account. I never received a final bill and it was sent to a collection agency, which wouldn't have happened if the associate could have told me what the final balance would be or if I had received a bill. I tried to set up an arrangement with Frontier to debit the final payment on October 15th, 2025. Frontier agreed to this arrangement and then debited my account today, October 2nd. Frontier cannot be trusted to do anything correctly. They will lie with impunity to get what they want. I'm not surprised about their average rating on Yelp of 1.2 stars. Be careful with the door salesman. They offer a very good deal and we were told we could try it out for a month then return it free of charge if we were unsatisfied. That was very far from the truth we have to pay a little under $200 to return the equipment and cancel the service. Mind you I have called 3 times already about canceling my account and on the 4th time I was told about the fee. I was also told if we stuck with the company we would receive the first 3 months free, that was a lie. They also mentioned a $100 gift card I'll be interested to see if that's a lie or not as well. We have had frontier for a little over a year, if the electricity goes out even for a moment the Internet takes over an hour to reconnect. This happened four days ago and it never came back on, called tech support and they were supposed to send a technician today. My wife called this morning to verify and was told there was no ticket made and no one is coming. After 45 minutes on the phone nothing was resolved and she was told it could cost $150 to send someone out. I waited 3 days for a technician receiving confirmations make sure someone will be home. I took off work stayed home then received a text when it was time for the technician to be here that there was an outage in my area and the technician would not be coming. All my neighbors have service it's just me so there's no outage. As I have been talking with other customers this seems to be what frontier does when they don't want to send a technician out. It's now been 5 days and today they said they would give me 30 days free of internet outage modem. When I check the app it says no outage for my area but they won't let me schedule another service time because customer service said the technician flagged it for engineering that it can be fixed remotely. My whole house runs off of internet so I have no tv, security system etc... my biggest issue with Frontier is customer service lying about an outage when there's clearly no outage. I have requested a manager to call me and was told all managers were busy and one would call before the days up still haven't heard from a manager. After over 30 mins of back/forth and waiting on hold to check. (No issues with audio). The rep returns to say they're sending it and starting giving me a confirmation number w/o asking if I had pen? I tried to ask him to stop but he kept talking over me and said several times he can't hear me while rambling on. I wish I could give less stars. I'm not usually one to dog a company, but Ive never been so disappointed on how shady a company could be. I was not under contract and requested to cancel because the price went from $50.00 to over $100.00, once I canceled and received a cancellation number, they continued to charge my for the service. I called the company figuring maybe that made a mistake with bulling, but when I call it says, "to reactive your service go to the app, goodbye" then it hangs up. I cant get a hold of any customer service representative and my bank is currently involved in the dispute, but this process will take up to 120 days. It appears frontier can be shady and I would strongly urge anyone to pay a little more for service to get consistency and not feel as though they are going to take money for a service you no longer have. read more

When I cancelled their service they did not pro-rated the monthly charge for the internet service. They said (rightly) that those conditions were on the bill, but since they set me up in autopay, I NEVER got a paper bill to read terms and conditions. Anyway, my bad, but then I returned the equipment and they charged an extra $50 as a re-stocking fee. Tried for them to revert the re-stocking charge just to be threatened with collection. Why? Because they internally listed it as a "transfer" (which I was never told). The tech was kind and knowledgeable, but his supervisor wouldn't let him install the service. I wasted an entire day off work for nothing. After multiple phone calls and conflicting answers from reps (one saying it could be done, another saying it definitely couldn't), I finally got a new appointment -- for five days later. Then Saturday comes, I wait through the 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. window, and no one shows up. No email. No call. No explanation. I call tech support and find out my service was canceled -- but no one knows why. One person says it should still be scheduled, another says it's showing $0 and nothing is active, and yet another says it was canceled the day I signed up. How can a modern internet provider be this disorganized? I've spent hours on the phone, been misled by multiple departments, wasted two entire days of my time, and the only "compensation" offered was $25 off my first bill -- for service that still isn't even installed. Good Afternoon I am sorry to bother you with this issue, but I am frustrated and can not get any satisfaction from the Frontier support system. I have been a Frontier customer for almost 8 years and have not had any issue's with our service to our home. About 1 month ago I chose to upgrade to your 1Gig service. I was told I would be sent a new router and did receive it on May 24th. After opening it I realized it had only 2 ports which would not work with the way my house is wired. I require 4 ports and a coax connection. This is when the issue started, I once again spoke with customer service which promised a 4 port+coax router. Since the 24th of May I have been promised on 6 different times the router is on the way. I have never received any UPS notification as I did with the original unit that was sent. I have been lied to and misled, in some instances the customer service agent tried to supply me with the tracking# for the original unit I received. It has now been 3 weeks since this began 3 weeks I have a service (1Gig) that I can not use and today I was finally able to speak to a Manager (Not in the US) who said he would have to call me back. It is extremely disappointing that customer are treated in this manner. I think that either further training is needed or perhaps not the correct people are servicing the customer line and chat. I had asked several times to be switched to a Manager only today was I finally granted the ability to speak with Mohammed who I believe is in South Africa with the rest of the customer service people I spoke with. I took over the Frontier account three years ago. Due to recent service issues, I decided to cancel my service about six weeks ago. I received an email from them the same day stating that I did not need to return any equipment. However, I logged into their website a few days later and it stated that I needed to return the eero and the router. According to the section regarding cancellations, I should have received (via text message) a QR code or mailing boxes. That never happened. We have been a customer for many years with their fiber internet service at 100 MBPS plan for $89.99 per month. They no longer offer the 100 MBPS service and have not offered this service for many years, but never notified us and many other customers when it was discontinued! Their lowest plan is currently 200 MBPS at $19.99/month. Their 5000 MBPS plan is $89.99/month. Frontier has been overcharging us $70.00 per month for many years! Thanks to Frontier' poor customer service, they have never contacted us about reducing our price to their current plan or increasing our internet speed to 5000 MBPS for the $89.99/month we've been paying! Another Frontier customer told us about the scam after they discovered the deceptive practice! If you are a current customer, CHECK YOUR BILL AS YOU ARE PROBABLY BEING SCAMMED BY FRONTIER like us and many other customers! Make sure the service you're being charged for is still offered at the price you're paying. Frontier won't tell you, so CHECK YOUR BILL AGAINST SERVICES CURRENTLY BEING OFFFERED on the internet. Better yet, see what competitors are offering. We've since moved on to an internet company with faster internet speeds and lower prices than Frontier. He started his spiel and I stopped him and asked if he saw the sign. He said he did and jumped right back into his sales pitch and actually argued with me that he wasn't soliciting. Terrible internet service!!!!!! Internet has been down in the Lutz area for 2 days.They texd an update at 3:20pm Friday, saying that it would be repaired by 6:00 PM. That never happened there was no update until 8 o'clock the next morning saying that it will be repaired by 1 PM on Saturday, then we received a text message a half hour later saying you will be repaired by 7:00 PM on Saturday.
