I love this place. Like the other reviewers stated, it is small but efficient and carries all things Japanese that you can think of. The sushi/sashimi and meat items are very fresh. I am so glad that I got reacquainted with this shop under a new owner. It is not like the old owner was not nice but, there are always thought of what the new owner could do. They do not disappoint. Come take a look for yourself. The price is right for the quality of products that they sell. For people who know quality, they know what I am talking about the minute you look at the product. So, so good! My friend and I were at Spirit Halloween store across the street when I noticed this Japanese market/deli. I've been recently watching YouTube and the mukbang. Which is these people who just eat Korean/Japanese food. And one of the episodes was they went to their local deli and bought all these snacks/foods. I was really excited when we came in and saw the variety of sushi items, sandwiches, sodas and everything in between. I stocked up to bring home with me. Everything that I bought was yummy! Can't wait to visit Japan and Korea to immerse myself in their culture and food. Would highly recommend this store. read more

The market has great selection of groceries and fresh sashimi and meat. It is my go to every week. I always grab the stuff on sale and my basket is always filled to the top :) The staff are attentive and they work very fast at the cashier too. Today I found that some items I purchased did not have discount amount reflected on the receipt so I phoned the store. They gave me credit back over the phone! It was so easy! I don't even have to go back to get the price adjustment. A++! read more

This little supermarket is very clean and modern :) there's a cute little parking lot right next to it and compared to Daido it's definitely newer, but they don't have some items like fresh wasabi or other kinds of vegetables unique to Japanese recipes. The bakery as well doesn't have as many variety of dessert as Daido. The cakes look yummy but it's almost $7 a piece which just isn't worth it in my opinion. However, the quality of meat and at the price they are selling it for is crazy!! In addition on Saturday's you can expect an extra 25-50% off. I foresee myself coming here every Saturday just for the meat. They also have prepped meals and fresh sashimi. read more

Great Japanese grocery, deli and bakery! It's a wonderful addition to the Westchester county, balancing out with Daido in White Plains and H-mart down the road. Frontier's strengths are quality sukiyaki and shabu shabu style beef+pork, pastries, and Japanese bentos. Here is the breakdown. * Quality sukiyaki meat at an amazing price. Much more selections of pre-sliced wagyu beef and pork to cook a restaurant quality sukiyaki and/or shabu shabu at home! I just bought really nicely marbled Washugyu beef at $7.99/Lbs, it was kiriotoshi (means remnants in Japanese) but it was great quality part! At Daido sukiyaki meat is often sold at $18+/Lbs and they are frozen. Even for remnants) Seeing multiple selections of wagyu beef is extremely rare (no pun intended), and this place even carries a Miyazaki Wagyu Rib Eye at $79.99/lbs...holy molly. * Authentic (and delicious) Japanese bentos: Great selections of bentos. Come here for an authentic and tasty Japanese food when you don't feel like going out nor cooking in. * Bakery: Perhaps this may be the highlight of this place. This tiny shop called "Crea" sells cakes, baked fresh daily on the premise. Cakes are refined, delicate, elegant delicious. It's a special occasion cake, each slice is $6 which I think is an ok price for the quality. Lady M in Manhattan charges $8.5 to $10 a slice with similar quality cakes. There's also cakes at Tous le Jour inside H-mart but I like Crea's cakes better. Definitely I will be a regular here. Pleasantly surprised to learn that Frontier Market est. 2018 is the OG location for later Maruichi delis in MA, CT, and NJ. Considerably smaller location compared to the newer generation stores. The little parking space next to the building is near impossible to back out of, so you are better off parking along the road. Bentos and onigiris (if there are any left) are immediately to your left upon entry and, unfortunately, all chilled and not kept warm under heat lamps like the Maruichi locations. The kind cashier lady did direct me to the microwave they offer inside the store. Their Facebook page does a great job of advertising the specials every week, especially fresh meats. Given the small footage of Frontier that's similar to that of other Japanese stores like Daido and Fuji in the area, you will either visit for the uniquely Japanese items or just a fun browse if you happen to be in the area. For a more immersive and productive Asian grocery shopping experience, I would rather visit an H-Mart or cross the river to Mitsuwa NJ. read more

Such a cute, organized and thoughtful Japanese supermarket! My husband who is super OCD loved the place for how clean and orderly it was, and I love how all the products were displayed so invitingly. We went in to just take a look after eating at the restaurant next to it, and spent a short amount of time buying so many treats and essential groceries. What a GEM! read more

This little supermarket is excellent. This is my go-to store for most of my fresh groceries, i.e. meat, poultry, sashimi, etc. The store is so clean, all the staff are courteous. The meats are mostly with a 25-50% discount and they are all fresh. Love this store and I highly recommend it. read more

I've been in the store before, the sushi is quite good, selection of vegetables is excellent, but I paid attention this time in a different way. Yes, they had the mizuna, the enoki, trumpet, shimeji mushrooms, bonito flakes and kombu and pretty much everything else I needed for a mushroom/tofu hotpot. Love it here. The store is small but sells many authentic Japanese items you can't really find and it tends to be cheaper than H Mart and that overpriced dirty Daido Market. On Saturdays all meats all marked at least 20% off. I had beef that was 50% off. I've never seen quality meat priced like that. Cashier was extremely nice and friendly. Parking is small so I would go here early in the morning to avoid traffic. It's a small grocery store but I'll go here if I need more meats and seafood. read more

I was upset when The Nijia Market closed as it was my take home sushi venue. I am pleased to report the sushi rolls I took home today from Frontier were even better. I bought spicy Tuna and spice Hamachi (Yellow Tail). Rolls. Very fresh and the rice was perfect. The lady at the check out was very personable and fluent in English. read more
