I only recently decided to start going out to see…read moremovies again, so to be honest I don't even remember if the service was comparable to how it was when I was a kid. We're all on streaming services now, but I feel like I need to get out more, so more eating out, movies etc. In this pursuit I've been to a few different theatres and now I feel like I was too harsh to Harkins because they all have terrible service. Harkins was actually slightly better than the first time I went to Picture Show.

Be that as it may, this small but beautiful little gallery in located inside Old Capital Market next to Bashford Courts. They list their address as "120 W. Gurley St., on the Mezzanine" which means one level above the ground floor. Some people just say "inside Spice Traveler" instead of inside "Old Capital Market" but either way... This gallery is an artists' cooperative, which I love! The variety and quality of the artists is quite nice. Each artists' name is clearly displayed in the section alond with their collection of work.There are paintings,photography, sculpture, metal sculpture, jewelry, wearable art, furniture, pottery, just to name some of the things. It is small space but doesn't feel cramped due to the open air setup inside the Old Capial Building. It is beautifully layed out and well maintained. The sculpture and botanical garden at Yavapai College is a must see, especially in early to mid…read more May when the irises are in bloom. Park near the Performing Arts Center and walk to the south side to enter the walking path. There is a large collection of sculptures of every style from natural stone to metal, bronze and mixed media. The pathway is suitable for disabled access and weaves through a variety of well labeled trees, shrubs and flowers. If you want to add a short ~1.5 mile hike, head down to the gravel lined walking path on the west side. This path starts out through the well shaded creek bed, then traverses to the west side of the college where the ball fields are located. After crossing through the ball fields, turn right and head on the path through the natural area just outside of the VA complex and north of the college. You get interesting views of the historical VA buildings as well as views of Thumb Butte and the mountains to the west. After the VA, the trail heads above the northeast portion of the campus before looping back around to the south. To get back to your car, walk through the beautifully landscaped campus buildings to the parking lot near the Performing Arts Center.
