He…read moretook advantage my parents who are in their 70's who lost everything after the Fremont floods of 2019. The interior of the house was down to the studs so he just had to rebuild and fix any minor issues. Completion date was supposed to be March 2020 - end of June 2020 he walked off job, 1 day after demanding more money, which was not a scheduled pymt. He said if he didn't receive the payment, he would stop all work, so we made sure he got paid, then he walked off anyway. He also asked for a large chunk of money in March - his reason - COVID. He received it, without hesitation, but we didn't get anything in return, but headaches and excuses. He kept apologizing but did nothing to remedy. We now have to purchase a lot of items for the home, in which he was supposed to with the extra money we sent him. He was also supposed to purchase all of the wood for the lean2, which is now 3x more expensive and of course he didn't purchase it. REGARDING HIS WORK, he is not detailed in anything he did. Very poor workmanship on what was completed and finding items he hid and said he fixed but didn't, he just covered up. He vary rarely reached out to us, we had to reach out to him for almost everything. We currently have no running water, no electrical or HVAC. That is how he left us in June 2020. We settled for a fraction of what it will cost to get it completed. He wouldn't even look us in the eye! VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISSATISFIED!!!! Their team initially installed piping incorrectly, which resulted in leaks and required them to return to fix their mistake. Later, we discovered they had also crossed the plumbing lines -- hot water came out of the cold side in both the shower and sink, and the toilet was flushing hot water. Correcting this error required a large hole to be cut into our brand-new drywall. After the finish work was completed, one of their employees called their CFO in front of us to confirm our final balance. Weeks later, we were suddenly told we owed hundreds of dollars more because they claimed I had made some sort of side "deal" with their plumber, which is absolutely false. Throughout the process, they provided multiple estimates and invoices that did not match the final amount they demanded. To make matters worse, they withheld payment to the contractor who repaired the drywall damage caused by their mistake until they received the additional money they claimed we owed. In the end, we were left paying out of pocket to repair damage caused entirely by their team's errors. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution others before hiring this company.

They were one of 4 contractors that we recently bid…read moreout for a tile and closet addition project to our home and we ended up selecting him based on price and overall first impression. He showed up at the exact time for the bidding process and returned our call quickly when we first contacted him. Don't you hate when contractors tell you that they will finish in a certain amount of time and then suddenly it's 3x longer? Justin and his team worked consecutively in our home for 3.5 days (from 8am-5pm every day) and were finished much sooner than what other companies were telling us. (Keep in mind, those other companies were much higher priced) There was a snag in the project when we discovered a small mold spot in our bathroom, but Justin was happy to remove it, replace the plywood, and cover it with sealant. Additionally, we asked him to move an outlet around the closet he was building and he did it without any hesitation. BONUS Cleanliness: The first day they came, he laid down plastic covering on our carpet because it had just snowed and they knew they could potentially track dirty snow into our house every time they came in and out. When they did finally remove the plastic covering, they vacuumed as best they could to return our house back to normal. He even asked if we had a broom so he could sweep all the sand they tracked in! Friendliness/Approachability: Justin was SUCH an easy guy to work with. He did a great job of explaining the work they did and always made sure to give us informed options when we had decisions to make. Even with the mold and asking for an outlet cover to be added, he never complained or showed any signs of annoyance. Our 3 and 5-year-old daughters even enjoyed talking to him and his guys and share about their days at school. I've never been more impressed when working with a contractor and will continue to choose Justin for any future home projects!!! Give him a call, you absolutely will not regret it.

Of 4 bids I received, Five Star was the best deal and I got what we planned. No surprises. My vanity order (from an outside vendor) was cancelled and they even delivered a late replacement from NFM. I am very pleased with this remodel.

We discovered HJ is a "parent" contractor that brings together other contractors on a project. Well, the subcontractors must really like HJ because we had zero issues. Scheduling was on the mark, contractors showed up and finished on time, all were friendly, clean a respectful of our property, and the entire project was complete when they said it would be. There were even a few issues where they ran into unexpected obstacles. Instead of putting them off, the persevered and got them conquered the same day to stay on schedule. The only minor issue was a slight defect we found in the tiling after the project completed. We made the call and they came out the same day and fixed the issue. We're quite satisfied and have our eye on them now for our kitchen.

i don't think the guy who came to our house was a handyman. he couldn't fix the problem of our…read morekitchen fixture not working and said maybe all four bulbs blew at once. he couldn't figure out why the dryer wasn't drying. it's an electric or gas and he said maybe they both need to be hooked up. the only service he did was installing the hydraulic on our storm door but he only did the top, not the bottom. very unimpressed, think they're in the wrong business
