Frontside has always served as a quality, consistent main staple of NoCo. Delicious coffee, tasty treats, and other goodies. However, one particular encounter solidified the downfall of this once fabled establishment. Upon ordering my classic breakfast avocado bagel sandwich with bacon, I was met with a sobering, and stark, new reality. The cashier regretted to inform me that they no longer carried bacon. This titular moment in the lore of Frontside will forever serve as a disturbing turn for the worst. Since this disturbing encounter, the shining beacon of hope that was Frontside, serving quality coffee and tasty treats has slowly been snuffed out to a dim, shell of its former self. Soon after the omission of bacon, many classic items have been phased out, such as the bagel sandwiches. This has served undoubtedly as a slippery slope as Frontside helplessly slides into an abyss of mediocrity. Biscuit sandwiches have taken the place of the bagel sandwiches, foregoing the prior deliciousness of the freshly baked bagels for an eating experience akin to eating a box of saltines with no water. Over the course of this dark descent, one introduction served as a glimmer of hope to a return to form: the house made Pop Tart. What a delectable treat! Filled to the brim with tasty filling, homemade icing, all wrapped in a divine puff pastry. However, to my dismay, a recent trip to Frontside resulted in a pastry with barely any filling. Sad. We popped in just for a cup of coffee and my hubby got a nitro. Good stuff, lovely flavor to their coffee and I would definitely be back. The ambiance was super chill, there were skateboards everywhere, and super hipster employees. It was cute and quaint and had clean bathrooms. I would go here more often if we lived closer! read more

Oh no....why, coffee?! Why?! This was without question one of the worst coffees I've ever bought. There are coffees I have made myself that are worse, but I digress. I was actually lucky I got a coffee with flavor added. The flavor was super sweet but it helped mask the coffee flavor. I hate milk, but I did add a bunch at home to combat the flavor of whatever was going on in that plastic coffee cup. My family members got a plain iced coffee. Poor souls. That stuff tasted like it was brewing too long, poured over ice, and sold for much more than it was worth. Horrible. Acrid. Probably dumped down the sink hole. Maybe it was an off day. But wow. Give me shitty Dunkins water any day over this coffee. I feel less bad about serving my family weak or strong coffee at holidays if this is the junk people will stop and pay for. I'm literally staying right behind this place on vacation and I'm going to risk crossing the busy street in search of better coffee than this place serves. read more

So good we came back the next day! We got several different drinks both times and they were all exceptionally good! Plenty of seating inside and out. Only one restroom, so the line can get long. Even when the line to order was at the door, they were quick and efficient to get orders out. Water cups are available at a self serve station. It is street parking, but it was easy to find a spot both times. read more

I think I developed a Frontside Coffee addiction during my week in North Conway! We found ourselves going there nearly every day to get a delicious drink! The place is crazy busy in the morning, but they work efficiently, and you don't wait nearly as long as you might think. I tried a hot hazelnut latte, a cappuccino, an iced vanilla latte, and a hot maple latte over the course of week. The cappuccino was my favorite, I got it 2 or 3 times. Perfect balance of espresso and steamed milk, perfect amount of foam. Although we never ate anything here, it seemed like tons of people were ordered the various bagels and breakfast sandwiches. If we get a chance to eat here on our next trip, those bagels definitely smelled delicious! read more

This coffee shop is excellent! I spent Memorial Day weekend in North Conway and Frontside was our go to cafe. We tried a variety of drinks, iced and hot. My favorite was the hot chai fu (dirty chai as other cafes call it) and the iced maple latte. The regular coffee is great, too! We also had a few of the breakfast/lunch sandwiches. We enjoyed them all. The prices are reasonable for fresh food/coffee. The staff was friendly and efficient. The cafe got quite busy and everything was still out within 5 minutes. We travel around the county checking out local shops a lot. Every time we have coffee from local roasters and smaller shops, this is the coffee I compare it to, and nothing stacks up. The wait can be long on the busier weeks and weekends, but it's absolutely worth it. read more

Delicious coffee, very nice staff, and everyone adhered and respected the precautions for COVID! Impressed! We enjoyed it so much we came back each morning while visiting. We even purchased whole Frontside coffee beans to go! The only wish I have is I do wish they had just a few more option for their fancy flavored coffees. I did enjoy the gingerbread coffee and it had the perfect sweetness. Just wish there were a few others (I think 5 on the list)- definitely visit though! I give it a 4.5 star rating! You won't be disappointed and they do have delicious food options, too! Tip: When waiting outside the intercom system works perfectly so no worries on not hearing when your name is called, too. A perfect spot to grab coffee and breakfast. What I found unique about this coffee shop is that they make their bagels and muffins in house. The staff was super nice. I asked if they had anymore Gf/vegan banana muffins and they made some in the back for us! I ordered the "bees knees" with oat milk and a banana muffin (Gf/vegan/nut free)! Super delicious! A coffee shop that serves beer! What else can you ask for? Went in to get our afternoon coffee but ended up ordering beer. Beware, they will check your ID if you're ordering alcohol; "No alcohol for you" if you don't have your ID with you, even if you look older than 21 and are accompanied by someone(your husband) who's 40 and is holding his ID. I commend them for that. Will try to go back and get coffee. Until then this is my review of the frontside coffee roaster. read more

My husband and I stopped in here after hiking the Artist's Bluff trail in Franconia. My husband ordered the Nitro Cold Brew with avocado bagel and I had the Salted Caramel Cream Coffee and Caprese "The Special" sandwich. All were very good and worth the trip to North Conway. I am not sure if I like the coffee or the donuts (chocolate glazed please) more but I'm a fan of both. I have tried the maple latte (excellent) and the light roast (very good) so far. I'm working my way through the menu and enjoying the journey. Oh and my daughter had a bagel and pronounced as if on the mountain top (groan for the pun) "Finally a place that gives the appropriate amount of cream cheese!". Yes, that's a first world problem but it's also one of the best compliments I can possibly share. It's definitely nice to see an alternative to mass market coffee shops and look forward to continuing my morning visits. read more

This is definitely one of the more modern places around North Conway. Lots of Different coffee to choose from. I had a pour over with coffee from El Salvador and wasn't that impressed. I also had the bagel with mozzarella, pesto and tomato. Wow ! Soooo good I wish I could eat it every day and they put a lot of cheese on it. $10 for a bagel sandwich and a small coffee but I definitely will be making that bagel with the moz and pesto for breakfast when I get home - such a great idea for a delicious breakfast. read more
