Inside is decorated with all kinds of classic cartoon memorabilia from the 60s, and they have a couple of TVs in there playing old cartoons on silent. Outside, there are several tables and benches and both inside and outside have some basic cleaning stuff so you can bus your table properly. All in all, it's a very special treat and we're looking forward to checking out their new location when it opens 9/26!

I ordered a choco taco and the lady rudely said "well which one" and I said "uhh maybe something with chocolate" because I couldn't find the flavors on the sign. Then she said rudely again "well we only have two left so you're gonna have to get one of those." I was trying to find the flavors someone and read what all was in it. I was splitting it with a friend and he asked me which one I was thinking. Keep in mind it had been about 15 seconds and there was absolutely no line. I said "uhh I'm not sure" she rudely interrupted and practically yelled "Well do you want me to just pick for you!" At this point I was pretty tired of it so I admit, I was giving her quite the death stare. I just couldn't believe that she was speaking like that to me when I had been nothing but kind to her. She then said, "I promise I'm not trying to be a smart ass you just seem like you're gonna be taking a while." If it wasn't for my friend not wanting to leave I would've walked right away and gone to Dairy Queen instead. The ice cream was good but not worth the experience. The lady was an older lady, maybe early-mid 60's. I'm assuming she was a manager or smth? I will definitely not be back!

With so many great options for food in the area, I got a little anxious checking Yelp, but I am so…read moreglad that this is one of the places I decided to stop during my limited time here. I primarily chose this spot because they have a really nice outdoor patio area so I knew I would be able to sit with my dog and eat and enjoy the weather. What I didn't know was that it had Salem spelled out in colorful letters in the front which made for an awesome photo opportunity. I was really excited to find that. When you walk inside, it has this really bright, colorful, unique decor. There is something interesting to look at no matter where you turn. They offer free samples which I really appreciate because it personally makes it easier for me to decide what I want and it definitely encouraged me to buy more cheese! My favorite sample was the queso cojeda enchilado. It had a rich tangy flavor. I ended up ordering a torta with some chips and grabbed a few different salsas from the salsa bar to try. The food was good and I couldn't leave without buying some of their smoked Oaxacan cheese to take with me. Let me tell you, it only lasted me 2 days. I wish I had bought more. As I was buying the cheese, I saw a family enjoying some ice cream cones and I had to try their ice cream as well. This place has everything. I got a cone of the Oregon mint and honestly I think it might be one of the best flavors of ice cream I have ever had. It was so fresh and flavorful and I was actually sad when I started getting to the bottom of the cone. If you're an ice cream person, you have to try it. They also gave me a card for a free game of bowling at Northgate Bowl which I thought was a really neat bonus. I wasn't in the area long enough to use it, but if we had been staying longer I definitely would have tried out the bowling as well. This is exactly the kind of local business I want to support. It's warm, welcoming, and most importantly, all of the products that they are putting out are fresh, delicious and made with love.

The burrito was super fresh and not super greasy. The quesadillas were good, got al pastor and carne asada. The al pastor was good but the carne asada was really good! Y'all got to run to the paleteria because they have an elite selection of ice cream bars, ice creams by the cone or bowl, and other delicious Mexican treats like mangonada, frozen chocolate dipped banana's, and even savory snacks like elote and chips in a bag. I love that they have a 12 for $12 paleta deal, and of course I got a dozen. Otherwise, each bar is $1.50. The first container is made with milk and the second with water. Their flavors are AMAZING, I am obsessed with soursop, and it tasted SO delicious, fresh, and creamy. There was guayaba/guava, mango, rice/arroz, strawberry/fresca, and a bunch of others from pistachio to some new ones I've never had like Mamey (looks like a coconut shell with a papaya interior) and Nanche (looks like yellow cherries). The sweet gal working the register let me taste them, and they were so light. I love trying new foods, and how lucky am I to try these new ice cream flavors! Anyways, come out to your local paleteria. Support small biz and BIPOC-owned, cuz it's the people for the people. Plenty of parking and an easy to spot shop, so what are you waiting for. Summer's coming!

They have a good amount of vegan and gluten then friendly alternatives too. The prices were a steal for the portions I got -especially the toast and chia pudding. The coffee was also pretty good, nothing to write home about. I'll have to come back to try some of their bagels next time.
