Super small store but better selection than in Eugene. I've been looking for ingredients for Filipino dishes and they have a small selection. Their produce isle is very small but I do appreciate that it is at least refrigerated/cooled compare to the rest of the store. Friendly staff. read more

They just have those Asian imports that I remember growing up on the islands where this was common. Large selection and they also carry seafood. This is a go to spot when I have family visiting from the island and they are making some traditional cuisine. I enjoy trying new things and running into favorite classics! Of the three Asian markets I know if here in Salem, this store has more hard to get items than the other two, such as shelled opihi (limpets), manju, linguica and lup cheong. They have very quick service at check out and even place your bagged groceries on the counter near the door so you can high tail it out of there when you are done. My daughter chose some pop rocks candy which I loved because it comes in tiny individually wrapped packages inside of a big colorful enticing package. It's so much fun to eat pop rocks! Great selection of premium packaged ramen and an endless aisle of pickled jarred vegetables, frozen fish is up near the front of the store along with packets of sauce mixes for Indian, Japanese, and Korean sauce mixes. read more

From all of the little Vietnamese owned and operated Asian grocery stores spawns new life in Wing Wa, a predominantly Cantonese / Teochew operation selling essentially the same products at reasonably similar prices. One thing that I like about this place is that they also serve food here, being that they're located right behind a restaurant. They have roasted duck and bbq pork in skewers and while its often gone by the end of the day, its not the most fantastic quality given the relatively low demand in the area. Best time would be to come get it around the late morning, early afternoon. The owners / staff here are pleasant to deal with. Last I heard they were going to implement a credit card machine so that they can handle more mass purchases. If that goes through, they may be one of the first and only to have such a service. I know this is a hot spot for a lot Chinese folks who can't seem to find the time to drive to Portland to get their groceries, may just be better to come here instead. read more

Stopped in to grab some soup broth. Looks like it is in a horrible area. The back windows were bashed in and the place looked like it needed round up sprayed out on the sidewalk. With that being said, the inside looks nothing like the outside. Lots of aisles of goodies to browse through. I got here after closing so I did not have time to shop but the next time I visit I'll come much earlier when it's hopefully safer and do some shopping. NOTE: It's VERY hard to find. You can get here off of Lancaster but it is hidden behind a Chinese food restaurant and not visible from the street. If you come in on Harold Drive, you can't tell it's a market. Turn into the left driveway behind the building and it will take you up to the front side of the place. read more

They have Okinawan sweet potatoes, corned beef hash, marinades, Polynesian food, Kimchee, Filipino food, Aloha shoyu, Mama saimin, etcetera. Plenty of good things to remind us of O'ahu. If you are driving down the street it is easy to miss this place. It is behind a gas station and a Chinese restaurant. The Hawaiian Sun they have is obviously shipped from Hawaii so costs like Hawaiian price$$$ and don't come in 6-packs but is individually sold. read more

I discovered Wing Wa Oriental Market by accident as I was going to Yan Yan Chinese Restaurant for dinner because their parking lots are adjacent to each other. Wing Wa, as their name "Oriental Market" suggests, has lots of Asian foods and products. It was interesting just looking around, but I was actually able to FIND an item that I like that's hard to find. Lucky me, I saw my favorite tasty kind of seedless plums from Taiwan among their display of dried and preserved fruits and other treats. I got three packages of the stuff, which should last me for a little while. Wing Wa was a great surprise discovery for me. read more

I had a really good experience here and looking for all the ingredients I needed for pad si ew and a couple Americanized Chinese dishes. The cashier was very helpful with making sure I picked out the correct peppercorns. The prices are super great too----I spent like $70 on a ridiculous amount of groceries. Quaint little shop with a large variety fitting all Asian cuisine from Korean to Filipino. Quiet and laid back and perfect fit grab and go ingredients. Meat selection was extremely limited...fish was somewhat better. But for the most part this is the place to get those hard to find ingredients...get your meat elsewhere though... read more

I'm from LA, so I miss my abundance of Asian markets :( This market offers everything as the LA markets, but on a much smaller scale. They have the mandatory Asian snacks I would eat as a kid, sauces, dishware and random little things you never knew you needed. Staff is very nice and helpful. BF and I wanted to have a hot pot night and they had everything we needed at that time except for the sliced meats. They told us to call them later that day as they were getting a shipment so they will have it ready for us. It was a little pricey, but it is a small market so I am willing to support! I haven't tried their Boba drinks in the back as I noticed they use some powder flavoring which I'm not a fan of. I will, however, buy my other necessities. read more

For a small grocery store in a hard-to-find location that caters to a minuscule segment of Salem's population, it's a wonder that Wing Wa can stay in business at all, much less do what it does so well. This is the largest and best-stocked out of a handful of small Asian markets around Salem, and the only one that has a substantial selection of fresh produce, baked goods, and gift items. The surprises to be found on the shelves of Wing Wa are legion, and I could easily spend an afternoon simply reading labels. Unfortunately, the roast duck and skewers that Alex S. has mentioned are long gone. Given that much of the deli counter has been dismantled, I doubt fresh cooked Cantonese food will ever return to Wing Wa. It wasn't the greatest or most authentic Chinese out there (their skunky wontons were a particular lowlight), but considering the relative dearth of quality Asian food in Salem it's sad to see it go. I looked this place up while in Salem. I love this little Market with some food of home. I'm from Hawaii born An raised so it's a treat to go to some place closer than uwajimayas. I'm only reviewing the Boba tea drinks at the dessert bar at the back of the store. Other desserts may be fine. The store too. The staff were all nice including the young lady preparing the boba drinks. And the boba themselves were fine. All drinks prepared from powders and blended with ice to slush. But that is okay. Though some people do just want tea. Powders are sub optimal but could be fine. The problem was that these things were so sugary that I could not drink more than. 20 per cent of mine. My son, similar. With the sugar dialed down these could be 3 star boba drinks. Maybe more. If u go there I think you can get a good or at least decent drink if u specifically discussed added sugar and treatment of ice ahead of time. The powder drinks may already have some sugar. If you don't order carefully or they don't change their recipe what they give may be undrinkable. read more

I disagree with Melisander on the crime part. CRIMES are more down on lancaster. DO not get: - BBQ items, roasted pork and duck are sometimes overnight, the ones that didnt sell. There is no guarantee fresh quality. and not yummy either - sauces, I find that the sauce here is a bit over priced. CON: check expiration date, I swear, I have gone through their stuff to check expiration and most of it is close to it or has pass. This includes snacks to can foods. ( kind of bad business ethics) PRO: random stuff are sold like piggy banks, flip flops, fake purses, jewelry and much more. Snacks are in the normal price range. Thank you Alex S. for your review of Wing Wa Market. I recently moved to Salem after living in Downtown Seattle for many years and have been terribly depressed with the fact that I had to drive all the way to Portland just to get Asian groceries. But not any more. I made a visit to Wing Wa yesterday, August 7th and was impressed. I have to admit that I also stopped off at the other two you reviewed as well, Que Huong and A-Dong. As a Korean, I found that Wing Wa offered much more Korean products that I was looking for. I was able to stock my pantry with so many Korean staples that I have been without for months. Wing Wa is larger than the other two markets and the selection of items is about the same. I found that Que Huong and A-Dong predominantly sells South east Asian items (Thai and Vietnamese) versus Northern Asian (Chinese, Korean and Japanese). The selection of traditional, Korean produce was lacking as well as fresh meat and poultry. But all in all, I was very happy to find Wing Wa and will be a frequent shopper. ive been going to wing wa for a long time i think thease reviews about the high crime are from competetors on silverton road or running scarde citizens and fa commuinty enforcment workers raule ramerize that are either from portland(homo0) or state workers (that make their living off of caged meat) but anyways when they had their mission style food for 2.99 usd it was great i was never sick and i ate their a lot(for 299 i could eat for 24 hours) i liked the duck feet and wings for 10 for a usd but of corse the city faggos(commuinty ENFORCMENT) had to ruin a good thing (I imagin it was 1 of the remeris(the marion county jail warden and his family that would not admitt to being related because they are here illeagly)(they kcked me out of my leagle place to live homelessly but coudld hardly speak let alone read english)not to mention how the chaind me to a bed for 28 days with no chloths or blankets or running water tp or anything) the mexicos that have fuqed up our town and targeted the homeless and made them pay 50 usd each time they vist BRIDGEWAY A RECOVERY PROGRAM that nobody wants to go to ARE TAGETING A REAL LOCAL BUSSNESS hong que has a good selection of spices a dong is in a easy spot to go to and they use to have the best price on chewing tobbacoo that sucks to smoke but resinable prices on bulk rice and bulk products wing wa has the best prices on green coconuts and beatle nuts in salem I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN SALEM IM WHITE AND UNEDUCATED but i know that wing wa is the best of the asin markts in salem it is hard to find but it is worth the troubble.im not part of the market but i support their bussness they are not snootie read more
