Was really craving a chili dog. First time patron at Frosty King. Cute little old-fashioned feeling shop. I'm certain that this is an iconic ice cream shop to the locals and I don't want to knock it or upset anyone here, really, but here is my thought, stick to ice cream. If you're not selling other foods and doing those as well as your ice cream, take them off the menu. My hot dog was hot- yes. It had a decent bun. The dog itself was meh. I've had better, I've had worse. The price was good. The chili and liquid cheese - I could have bought Hormel and cheese whiz. It's great if you like THAT! But if you're going to do it- do it well. Do it BETTER than the others! Or don't do it. Based on that experience, I'm just not going out of my way to hurry back, but I'm sure there a lot of people that will and that's okay. Again, not trying to bash anyone. Just an honest review - and that folks, is all she wrote.

Frosty king is DANGEROUS. I will be lying in bed in the evening, and I don't want frosty king, but the parasites want frosty king. I'm addicted and would ask if there's a support group to kick this stuff but I'm not ready to let it go. Frosty king could serve a mud pie with rainbow sprinkles and it would sell out. I swear, this place is otherworldly. If you haven't had frosty king, are you even from here?! BRB grabbin a soft serve twist cone w sprinkles

If you're looking for fresh, homemade, delicious ice cream. This is a great little spot! Their ice cream is really good, very impressed. I tried the Birthday cake on their homemade sugar cone and it was drool worthy. Clean, staff was very friendly, and so many delicious treats.

I was actually thumbing thru local menus and came across this joint and said "ooooh!" Why? They…read morehave whole belly Ipswich clams! In Daytona Beach, in a hotdog joint! I continued perusing and saw they had all sorts of interesting stuff...the sky's the limit for it being a weenie joint. So my dear Mainer Queen Bee opted in for the half pound basket of clams, which includes slaw and fries. I myself love whole bellies, but I don't wanna get the same thing. So what did I get? 10 oz. charburger. I opted for slaw as my side; I've eaten enough fries for awhile. Who ever serves a 10 oz. burger anymore? I asked for it cooked medium by the patient and helpful Brian, who seems to wear more than one hat around here. He takes orders, runs the register, and seemingly does anything and everything for who appears to be the lady owner of this spot. So the clams were absolutely fantastic! Nice, briny and just the right amount of crisp. Good ratio of cornmeal to flour to clam also; fries are fries. Meh: standard straight cut from off the Sysco truck. Slaw was pretty decent, but I do expect it came outta the ol' Sysco catalogue too. Onto the burger: it was cooked a lil to the rare side of medium, but acceptable. I say this because that bugger was well over an inch thick! It coulda used a lil seasoning, TBH. I just added a good dose of black pepper and a tiny shake of salt; voila. Just for idle curiosity, I also got a chili dog (aka Coney) to go. There's a choice between Flint or Detroit style chili. I chose the Flint because it appealed to me just a bit more; Brian also recommended it. Flint is drier and meatier, with a heavy dose of cumin as many chili recipes have. It's also made with heart meat rather than Detroit style which is a bit saucier and the sweeter aftertaste of nutmeg....a nice tribute to all the Greeks who started this kinda business over 100 years ago in the Motor City. It's a Michigan brand of dog (Koegel) so of course it isn't as flavorful as a NYC dog, but it was a decent quality dog in a nice soft (steamed?) bun. As we finished up, the owner came by and told us all about how she and her husband got into the restaurant biz, and really made us feel welcome there. They've been in this location for just over a year (2 more across the river in Port Orange before that), and I can do no less than thank her and her team for providing a decent meal and pretty damn fine value! I truly wish these folks nothing but the best of luck. They're also venturing into a food truck in the near future to get their brand out and about. So keep a good lookout in the next few months at all the local festivals. There may be a Riley's on the Road coming to a happening or shindig near you! They really seem like they're in their happy place with this business! It's very laid back and mellow in there, with a homey fast food kinda feel, but definitely no kings, castles, clowns or potentates to gum it all up. Their early bird specials are fantastic too, and each day provides its own group of specials beyond even THAT! Finally, they offer a 15% discount to all active duty and military veterans for everything but specials. So whenever you're looking for a quick, simple down home meal for lunch or dinner, go no further than here. They have so much variety and so many specials. It'll take you a long while to go thru everything on the menu and not encounter the same thing twice.

Being a Chicago native, I'm always interested when a restaurant advertises "Chicago" food…read more Particularly Italian Beef. What I've come to realize is that most places advertising this don't have a clue what real Chicago food is. They are merely imposters trading on a name. Jo-Jo's is different. They are a master-class in producing some of the finest Chicago staples outside of the Windy City itself. Friendly staff, cold beer (soft drinks too!) and amazingly authentic Chicago fare. Thanks, Jo-Jo's!

Let me set the scene: I'm a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Chicago food. Thin crust, Italian beef,…read moredeep dish -- I take this stuff seriously. So when I ordered from JoJo's while vacationing in Daytona Beach, my expectations were... let's just say cautiously pessimistic. Beach town pizza has burned me before. Chicago-esque places outside of Chicago have broken my heart more times than I care to admit. I was not prepared for what happened next. The woman on the phone was an absolute delight -- warm, upfront, and honest that the kitchen was slammed and our order would be about 50 minutes. No problem. We're in vacation mode. Island time. We'll take a walk on the beach and meet you there. We ordered a large thin crust, a big Italian beef wet/sweet with a side of jus, and a personal deep dish for good measure. When we arrived for pickup, the place was hopping -- buzzing with energy and the kind of vibe that makes you wish you'd planned to eat in. And then we tasted the food. Holy. Cow. This is the best Chicago-style pizza and Italian beef I have ever had outside of Chicago -- and I'll go further than that -- it's better than places I've actually eaten in Chicago. The thin crust was perfect. The beef was phenomenal. The deep dish? Don't even get me started. JoJo's didn't just meet the bar. They cleared it completely. We will absolutely be ordering again on our next trip to Daytona. Consider this a standing reservation.
