First time cutting down our own Christmas Tree and it was a great family experience. The staff explained the process and the correct way to cut a tree. We for sure will be back.

    The view from up hill.

Great variety of trees to choose from at the farm, great service, good workout. All trees are $70 no matter the price. Recommend this place definitely will be back this year. Pet Friendly and the kids love the idea of cutting the tree. It was our first time going out to a farm so it was worth it.

    Cheers!! Happy Holidays!

My boyfriend, Victor, and I decided to drive up Highway 17 and cruise through the Mountains to find a farm this year. There were so many different farms but I am so happy that we stumbled across Frosty's Christmas Tree Farm. We were instantly greeted by a young man named Giovanni who guided us and provided us with the saw. We also met his father, Johnny. He was very generous, trustworthy and friendly. We immediately felt welcomed by their hospitality. It was amazing to see Johnny and his son, Giovanni work, smile and laugh together. I love seeing this because it brings a warmth to the holiday season. Cutting a Christmas tree is a beautiful start of the holidays and is a special tradition for us. It's the most wonderful time of the year! As Victor and I walk through the farm, we were impressed with the beautiful selection of trees. We happened to go all the way to the bottom to get a very special tree. The branches were strong and the needles were fan-like green feathers that gave the tree charisma and uniqueness. As we walked back up the hill carrying our tree, Johnny said that we were the first to cut the Cedar Tree planted at the bottom of the hill. The Cedar Tree is like no other Christmas Tree we have had growing up. We were very pleased with this special tree. (Take a look at our Christmas Tree - decorated in red, white and silver) Prior to writing this yelp review, I called the phone number to confirm the name of Johnny. A very polite woman named Angela answered the phone call. She was also very sweet, warm and friendly and she happens to be the wife of Johnny. Thank you Johnny, Angela & Giovanni for a wonderful experience at Frosty's Christmas Tree Farm! You have definitely started our holiday season with the spirit of love and family! We will see you next year. Cheers & Happy Holidays! Victor & Jovice

So many trees and a great selection! My family and I went to pick out a tree and there were so many good ones to choose from that it was hard to pick out the perfect one! The workers were super friendly and if you need help tying your tree to the car there's someone there to help. The price isn't bad at all - $60 for a tree. You can buy mistletoe for $2 too. There's also free coffee and hot chocolate. What more can you ask for!

Great selection of Christmas trees. There are tons, rows and rows. The scenery is beautiful! Be prepared to hike a little so wear comfy shoes. Windy road going up and they could use some mirrors on the road or something to make it a bit safer. This place will give you a saw, twine for free. The netting is $5. They offer hot chocolate. Many people were having tailgate style picnics when we were there. Definitely a family outing. Highly recommend this place!

Super friendly staff and a great variety of trees. There is just something about hunting and chopping your own Christmas Tree and creating a family tradition. When you go you will see families picnicking on the lawns and everyone having a great time..my kids love the free hot chocolate they provide as well. The price is $60 for any tree any size which is great!

I found it! Our perfect tree. Thank you Frosty's!

They had over 4 picnic benches for families to picnic on, a small swing nearby, and a portable toilet near the main parking lot. Other parking lots were available if the main lot was full. They give you the saw upon check-in and you drop it off along with $80 for any tree size on your way out. My son enjoyed the candy cane he was given upon exit. I would go here again with my family. Advice: we went here upon opening Saturday morning after Thanksgiving. By 10:30am, the main parking lot was full and overflowing into other lots, but other lots had plenty of space. I recommend getting here early and having a picnic with your family.

The people at McKenzie Ranch treated us like family, directing us where we can park and how the whole process of cutting a tree works. Once we cut our own tree we brought it back down where we paid an extra $10 to have them shake it down and tie it up for us on our car. Trees cost around $60 but it is honestly a priceless experience, and it will last from thanksgiving until New Years if you water the tree consistently. One big thing is that when you come up here be sure to wear cloths u don't mind getting dirty/wet since it's usually pretty muddy around. I recommend some old jeans and hiking boots for some grip. Overall McKenzie Ranch gave me and my family not just the perfect Christmas tree but the best experience in cutting one down, be sure to swing on by for your own tree for the holiday season!

Was so excited to cut my own tree down this past Christmas! I researched a bunch of different tree…read morefarms in the Santa Cruz Mountains and it seemed that they all had a similar price range within $5-$10 of each other. I opted for Summit since I knew exactly where it was and that they'd have a pretty large selection. It was a set price of $80 per tree (2025), no matter if you got a 4 ft tree or 12 ft tree. They had a ton of trees to choose from, we parked shortly after the road turned and when we were leaving we realized just how how expansive the property was and how much more there was to explore. Just in the area we were in you could find trees of all sizes, small, tall, plump, and on the thinner side (this was the hardest to find). There's a small snack shack here but you can also bring your own food and tailgate before or after the hunt. We spent about 20 minutes saying this is the tree while then finding another one a few minutes later. They provided a saw and we brought our own measuring tape to make sure it would fit in our designated space. Once you get your tree you drive back to the front to pay, we ended up putting the tree inside my car, so I'm not sure if they'll help you secure it to the roof before you go, but you are responsible for doing it yourself as you make your journey back to the front. They sold stands at the front, I believe they were $20. When I got a real tree growing up, it was always from a lot so they would secure the stand and put the tree through a shaker for you. That wasn't the case here, so we did find a lot of small spiders after getting it home, and we also had our tree fall over after decorating it because we didn't get the straightest cut on the bottom and the trunk was a little oddly shaped for the stand.
