You definitely need to go to both. At the hands on park there were baby goats roaming, little pigs roaming, you can get up close and personal with llamas, and so much more. My kids especially loved holding the little bunnies! You can't pick them up yourself but an employee will place them on your lap for you. I highly recommend buying the stuff to feed the animals. You can get pellets, carrots, apples, and little sticks with birdseed on them for the bird enclosure. Watch for signs because some animals can't have the pellets and some can't have anything at all. There are also a bunch of play structures for the kids to play! Twice a day they have bottle feedings and you can call ahead to book or book when you get there! You can't have outside food and the website says they sell food but it's just snacks, ice cream, and other similar treats. We did not know and hadn't eaten so we were so hungry! My son wanted to eat the carrots for the animals The drivethru was also great. You have to have the windows rolled up and the door locked while you drive through the Bear portion. There was a Bear that did a somersault right in front of the car! It was so cute! You can buy a bucket of pellets to feed most of the animals in the drive-thru too! Be careful though! There was a camel that ripped the bucket right from my hand! He was too strong for me If you have leftover pellets from the walk-through portion, ask the person at the gate of the drivethru for an empty bucket and you can dump them inside to feed the drivethru animals!

John Ball Zoo exceeded expectations…read more The tigers were wearing grooves in the ground with their pacing, the Patagonian penguins were putting on synchronized swimming clinics, the porcupines appeared to be tunneling to another zip code, and the meerkats... well... they were practicing the ancient art of invisibility. Despite it being 90° by 10:00 a.m., the mature trees provided so much shade that it stayed remarkably comfortable. The grounds are spotless and beautifully landscaped with a botanical garden vibe. What impressed me most was the thoughtful design of the exhibits. They feel spacious and natural for the animals, while also giving visitors and photographers clear views without constantly shooting through cages or fencing. It creates a much more immersive experience for everyone. The new ? funicular is a great touch because hills are much more enjoyable when someone else does the lifting. Great flavor to the bread, a dense bread with good crumb, with a heavy "everything" exterior seasoning that was wonderful! The second loaf is a Jalapeno cheddar. It has a white flour bread base so a lighter density and negligible crumb. The jalapeño and cheddar were barely there. Just on the exterior of the loaf. Still made decent toast.

I've been going to Grange Fruit Farm for the past few years for seasonal fruit picking. I love…read morecherry season in West Michigan, and it's back! Grange just opened the last week of June for sweet cherry u-pick. I went at 9 am on a Friday when they opened and picked almost 4 pounds in 30 minutes. The employees are always friendly and helpful. They'll give you however many buckets you want (each bucket holds about 5 pounds) and direct you to the picking area. I had fun trying each of the three varieties they had available: cavalier, black pearl, and white gold. They post on social media when each variety is ready to pick. Sour cherries usually come a bit later in July, but I prefer having lots of sweet cherries to eat. As of June 2025, U-pick cherries are $2.90 per pound. You can also buy pre-picked cherries, as well as other items at their farm stand. They take cash and credit cards. The parking area is a bit small, but I've always just gotten there early so I'm not sure if they have an overflow parking area anywhere. I'm looking forward to hopefully coming for blueberry season next!
