It can be very hard to find a dog park that has grass in the metro area. This one does. It also has a small dog area as well as a large dog area and the small dog area is pretty decent sized. Big enough for lesser dudes to run, bark, and play. Despite being just a stones throw from Kipling and I 70, you really feel kind of isolated back in the park, and that is a good thing. read more

Visited the park with my dachshund mix and was happy to be the only ones there. This needs more benches in the enclosure so that you can be with your dog at what ever end of the play area. Over all this was very decently spaced. I would have rated this higher if there were dog bowls for water. read more

I like this park for having two areas, small dog and large dogs. There is rarely a small for my dog to play with, but she runs along the fence with the bigs. Only one chair, not in shade, I brought my own. Hoping to leave it and no one walks off with it. I tend to over heat so needed more shade. It's a quiet beautiful park. read more

We have had so much fun here with our american bully puppy! The split between small and large dog fenced areas made us very comfortable as he has grown.. allowed us to be sure he was playing and chasing like -sized dogs. The people here area always friendly, plenty of fenced room for the dogs to play.. but also not too huge as to loose sight of your pup! This is a great little park in Wheat Ridge. There is a small parking area to the west of the park. A small field between the parking lot and the playgrounds is great for kicking a ball around or spreading out a blanket for a picnic. There is at least one pavilion area as well. There are a few trees, which are starting to mature and provide a lot of shade around the playground and field. To the north west of the playground, there's a basketball court, which seemed to be in good repair. There were restrooms over there, but we didn't use them so I don't know what shape they're in. The playground area is huge and spread out. There are a few different play structures. One is very tall with a bunch of slides on it. It's great for fearless climbers. There are 4 swings, two regular and two infant. There is a odd looking structure that may have tried to be an art project at one point. Finally, there is a small structure which is low to the ground and good for the littler ones. Behind the playground area is a big enclosed area. I'm not sure if it's meant for horses or dogs, but I plan on bringing my dog out one day to let him run around like a maniac, too. All in all, a good park to go to. read more

There are really only a few things I look for in a dog park and Fruitdale has em all. Let's start with the basics Solid parking. I've been three times and never had trouble finding a spot. A "big dog" and "small dog" area Ample poo bags Water bowls (but you'll have to bring your own water). There is a small shade area in the middle of the park but otherwise it's all sun all the time. Why does this park get 5 stars? For one thing, there's actual grass here so unlike other parks that are all gravel, this one isn't dusty. Also, a separate entrance and exit makes the transitions less stressful for Fido. Lastly, most owners seem to pick up their dog's crap. There's not much else to say. Keep up the good work Wheat Ridge. read more

This isn't one my favorite dog parks, there aren't many dogs that show up. So you'll have to play with your pup alone, also there isn't anywhere for the dogs to get water so bring your own bottle. I do like the ads really is all grass so its easier on their paws. Lastly, bring bug spray there are alot of bugs! read more

Small park just off I-40 and Kipling. I'm a big fan of the dog park here which has two areas - one for little dog (less than 40lbs) and one for the bigger dogs. Both are grassy and fenced. Plenty of parking and friendly folks. read more

I was ecstatic when we found this dog park, along our journey to the west. Thankfully, we found a hotel nearby that was pet-friendly and directly behind the park itself. They separate big and small dogs and other pet owners are nice enough to leave extra poop bags/toys around. I kind of wished the small dog park was slightly bigger, but was lucky enough to go on the big side, when there were only two other dogs over there. I would highly recommend anyone to bring their fur babies out to this park. read more

Nice little dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. No terrain or trees just open and flat but great place for playing fetch. Well-maintained and everyone we have encountered has been friendly. Good play area for kids and walking trails. read more

This park all aces in my book. Good use of the property. A nice big playground area for kids to come and enjoy. The school right next to it often takes advantage of the area. I came here during the day time on a Thursday. There was only one other dog there and he just arrived a minute before me. There is a separate area for big dogs (40lbs and above) and one for small dogs. I stayed in the small dog area for about 30 minutes. By then, there were 5 dogs in the big dog area. I decided to bring my dog into the big dog area. No one played with my pup =(. I wish more people with small dogs went there- then it would have been great! read more
