Great cider mill! We stopped in while on a drive and this was a beautiful little coder mill and Apple farm. The glazed apple cider donuts were incredible! I'm usually a fan of the famous cider donut with no frills but this was sooo good! Their cold coder was awesome and their hot cider was pretty good. A little viewing area into the cider mill.

What a nice few hours we spent at this cider mill! It was very busy, but we got through the line in no time to enjoy our cider and donuts. The decor is super cute, and talk about the best pumpkins around. The price for the pumpkins is something to talk about as well! I mean $10 for one that I could barely pick up- awesome!! We will definitely be back to visit next year.

I just love this place. If you haven't been here you need to stop. It is a great family run Orchard and Cider Mill. They now have hard cider tasting in the back. The interesting part about this Cider Mill is, that although it is modern, but they have a relationship with the Amish in the area and the Amish work in the orchard as well as in the kitchen making the most awesome pies you will ever have. Come try the donuts and leave with a great pie.

Some (or all) of their ciders are JUST yeast and apples, so there's no extra sugar added that makes it undrinkable. The two running the tasting room (Saturdays only) were a pleasure to talk to about cider and craft beer. They even gave us a tour of their facility without us even asking. We ended up doing a flight of ciders, getting a pint, and taking home two bottles. Glad to support them!

On a 16 acre Apple orchard, sits a cidery and tasting room that utilizes over 1000 different strains of apples; some of which were once nearly extinct, to bring you a unique tasting experience. My Wife and I came on a freezing cold windy and snowy day, and walked into a warm and welcoming tasting room. There is a bar, along with a few tables, that could seat about 20-25 people. We each had a flight of the 4 ciders they currently had available, and then a few tasters of our favorites after that. We ended up buying 2 bottles of cider, a pint glass, a shot glass and two shirts; one for each of us. LOVED their logo. As they grow and more people find out who and where they are, I bet Forgotten ciders will be on a shelf near you. Until then, come taste and talk with the family that owns and runs this hidden gem. Best of luck. We'll be back when we're in town.

We were looking for an apple picking place on the Traverse City peninsula this October. Most of the…read moreorchards seem like they were vineyards and not a u-pick type of establishment. One orchard owner recommended Shangri-La Too. It's in the middle of the peninsula and it is easy to pass by; we did a few times. There is a big white residential house with farm of apple trees behind it (but it looks smaller than the massive farms around it) and a barn/shed off to the side. There was a small square sign (similar to a political campaign sign) that says u-pick and a little larger permanent rectangular Shangri-La Too sign in front of the house. There wasn't anybody outside or any sign of apple pickers, but we rang the door bell and Louis came out to explain how everything worked. He was very nice. Unfortunately, due to hail on the peninsula, the apples were badly damaged. So Louis gave half of the price for each box of apples we picked. He directed us to the specific apple trees we wanted and went back in. We picked several boxes of different types of apples, including my favorite Fujis! We are currently going through the last of the apples. As we picked, more people came to pick. There was enough room in between the trees so I could drive my power wheelchair in the grassy paths. Bumpy, but doable. The younger trees were short enough for me to pick some apples from my wheelchair and some of older ones had low hanging branches. It didn't seem like they had a public restroom, but perhaps they let people go in their house. They didn't seem to mind that we brought our two dogs, who barked the whole time in our car. Louis was very nice to us and chatted with us as we paid. We will be coming back here next apple season. Their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Shangri-La-Too-Farm-150994154926073/) says "Shangri-La Too is a small family owned and operated farm. We grow small crops of cherries, raspberries, black raspberries, apples and vegetables. We also sell eggs and honey. In season, we offer a u-pick and we pick.

It was a little confusing at first since no one was around to guide us, but a kind staff member eventually helped. You pay after picking by Venmo, cash drop box, or at the bar. Just note that if you pay at the bar, tax is added. They had live music while we were there, the pizza smelled amazing, and the cider options at the bar were great. They also have a corn maze, which looked fun, though my husband chickened out thanks to Children of the Corn . Overall, it's a good family spot. Just plan your visit early for the best fruit-picking experience!

We will definitely make this stop again when we visit up north.
