Fruitful Vines Shuttle tours is a little pricier than some other shuttle services in the area, which made me a bit hesitant, but ended up being well worth every penny. We had a large group and opted for a private bus. Dan showed up about 5 minutes early, had a nice shuttle with the A/C cranked and some music playing. It was extremely comfortable. He took us to the wineries we selected, catered to every need from carrying items back to the bus to grabbing umbrellas when it started to rain and even snapping many pics throughout the day. He even had Vince at Lemon Creek come out to tell us about all the wines we were trying. Dan's customer service was the cherry on top to an already memorable day. read more

Just got back from a 9 girl bacherolette celebration with these guys. What a great day. Deb was a joy in helping us plan. They picked us up at our air bnb and dropped us off. The 3 winery's we visited offered Different styles and wonderful wines. The Provided lunch was delicious. Our driver Dan was AWESOME and he made the trip, taking car of every little detail. Fruitful Vines definitely went above and beyond for us. We originally were scheduled to be on a bus with a bridal party but since we were celebrating our engagement, they gave us our own private bus. We were so thankful for that! The three wineries that we went to Lemon Creek, Domaine Berrien, and St. Julien were wonderful places and we enjoyed our tastings at each. We ended up purchasing wine at all three wineries to take home and enjoy. Our bus driver, LJ was wonderful. She was very engaging and took pictures of us throughout the tour. Each time we purchased wine, she would take it into the bus so we didn't have to carry it. LJ was very knowledgeable and personable about the areas we were around. Overall, we had an absolute blast and really enjoyed our time. The reason losing a star, is due to the price. At each winery a tasting costs $15 and we went to three wineries. We also had lunch which we can even say was $20. Which adds up to $65 per person for the tastings and food, give or take. I'm not sure where the other $125 goes. I understand gas, our drivers time, a company fee, etc. but that's so much. We paid $380 for the two of us and in addition to tipping the driver. Overpriced but we had fun. If this is your only option to safely enjoy the wineries and you have the extra funds, I would recommend it. We went on a weekday in late August; and had only 4 people (2 couples) on our tour. Our tour guide, Dan, had a great sense of humor - setting the stage for fun upon pickup. Over a 6-hour period we toured some of the SW Michigan countryside, while Dan explained the industry. We went to 2 wineries, then had a late lunch (that was pre-planned down to what food we'd get) at a friendly place. It was clear that Dan knew the servers at the wineries, joking around with them. He told us exactly how much time we had, and we finished early. In the afternoon, temperatures were hitting 94 degrees and Dan said that the last winery would be outside. He asked if we wanted to sit in the heat or change plans and go to an indoor tasting room (that he could set up on the fly). We opted for the latter - and are glad we did. Tried a small amount of 15 different wines! Highly recommend. read more

We took the Vino Coach over Thanksgiving weekend, it was awesome! 4.5 stars Bill was our driver. He is funny and definitely enjoys what he does, so that was an asset to the trip. It was a small group so it was nice to like the other people and guide we were with. Our day included Hickory Creek, Gravity, Lemon Creek and the Round Barn, with the Round Barn Restaurant as our lunch stop. Each winery was very different in terms of atmosphere. I thought the variety was really nice. We loved Gravity; the owner was there and she was wonderfully friendly. We also had a bunch of fun at the Round Barn...Warning though...we love beer, we are beer drinkers, not wine drinkers given the choice. If you like beer, head up to their brewery first. That is where you will turn in your tour ticket, and you will get a pint glass instead of a wine glass. We did not do this and were stuck with wine glasses. The head girl in the brewery area was a biatch and would not swap them out, somehow, despite her terrible attitude, we had a lot of fun up there. Our lunch was also great. Try the pizzas, carb loading, and the Salmon BLT was the best sandwich I've ever had. I had a glass of Cranberry wine there and it may have been my favorite all day. Now, there was a downside. I'm an uber planner and probably annoyingly organized. So, in prep for the trip, I emailed to get some questions answered, three emails :-) Each response was rushed, rude and frankly condescending. I don't get why people who do something everyday can't understand that when someone doesn't, they may ask for clarification. Still, I'd do this again. Would very strongly not recommend. Unless you prefer your wine with a side of terrible experience. In mid-August, we scheduled a wine tour for a bachelorette party in late September after I had discussed with Dan Madden (owner) over the phone. I paid in full and followed up with an email detailing our plans for the day and outlined the reservations I had booked. Dan confirmed receipt of the email and said the plan looked great. Fast forward the day before the wine tour, I called Dan in the morning and left him a voicemail. No response. The following day, our bus had still not yet shown up at the scheduled time. When I called, he stated our reservation couldn't be found. As Dan was reading off the first and last name of every other tour scheduled for that weekend (privacy violation?) he asked if he could call me back. He then apologized and said he would "make it right" by not charging us for the tour. Long story short, he was 2.5 hours late and we only went to 2 wineries instead of the planned 3. On our way to the first winery (after mentioning we have a guest that gets carsick easily) he passed a car on a country road and ran off the edge a couple of times. Not the most comfortable route. The rest of the tour was very awkward but again, for a free tour, we didn't complain. Until he dropped us off, an hour shorter than what we had initially paid for, again, no complaints since he wouldn't be charging us. We had a hefty cash tip for him and he again asked how he could "make it right". We said he appreciated him comping the trip but wanted to provide a tip. He laughed in our faces, shoved the cash back into my hands, and said he never said that. He thought a compromise of comping half would be fair. Well, a week later and we still haven't gotten any money refunded to us. Save yourself the hassle, headache and the verbal disagreements. Book a tour and drink your wine in peace with industry professionals. There are many other great companies offering the same service. I wish we would have chosen one of them! read more

We had a great time on the day of the trip and enjoyed the first Winery the best. We had gone up to Michigan for a one-day bachelorette trip and based on other reviews here booked a Private Tour on the bus. Our tour guy Matt was super nice and made the trip very enjoyable. The two things that stop me from giving 5 stars is 1) we didn't enjoy the other two wineries and would suggest they look to incorporate others in the tour or give guests options to choose three of their liking and 2) Even though it worked out in the end I was on pins and needles leading up to the day of the event. I had called/emailed a couple of times after prepaying for everyone, but no one ever reached back out to me prior to the event. Their office is closed on Saturday, so there was no one to talk with on the day of the event either. I think if they sent out a text or email the day prior or two days prior to the event, that simply had a what to expect for the tour, that would have put my mind a bit more at easy. read more

My friends and I have been going on the wagon for ten years. It used to be 4 wineries and a sit down lunch. It is now $50 more for 3 wineries and a sack lunch. The deal breaker here though is the level of wineries. it used to be well established wineries worth touring, tasting, and pictures (tabor hill, lemon creek, gravity, round barn). This last tour had none of that. One was a garage (not a winery at all) with a view of the road and a "wine list" including 2 whites and 4 reds. The tastings are $15x3 wineries plus a sack lunch so at best the cost here is $60 so where does the rest of the $180 fee go? When a man who presented himself to us as the owner asked for feedback, we were honest with him. Rather than accepting the feedback, he began to argue with us so there's little hope this tour will be good again. There's tons of busses in the area willing to go to great (not sub optimal) wineries so look elsewhere imo. read more

Wow. I can't believe I'm the first to review this! We took the tour for Fruitful Wine Tours last weekend. I cannot say enough great things about this company! When I started planning a bachelorette party for my sister. I looked to Yelp and Trip advisor. To my surprise no one had reviewed Fruitful wine tours. I was a little nervous since there was no one on either site but I'm glad that I took the chance! There are 3 different tours that they provide. The Vino Coach, Wine-O-Wagon and Tour de Grape. We went with the Vino coach since I wasn't quite sure what the weather would be like. The van that picked us up was so comfortable, with nice leather seats and A/C. It looked brand new! I was impressed and so were the other girls. There are a few locations that you can be picked up at. We were staying in New Buffalo at a condo and it was just a 7 minute walk to the Marina Grand Hotel. By the Way the Marina Grand Hotel is gorgeous! We tried to stay there but they had a minimum of 2 nights:( No we rented a condo from New Buffalo Vacation rentals. Back to fruitful vine tours. When we got into the van the first thing we did was choose what we wanted to eat for lunch. Al had menus in the car and we all picked what we wanted to eat. Our 1st stop was Lemon creek winery. While we all went in to try the different wine, Al was in the van ordering our food for us. The next stop was the bakery. My sister and I shared a chicken salad and a bacon, avocado, and grilled cheese sandwich. ( This is not included in the tour.) I can't say I was too impressed, perhaps it's because I live in Chicago and I'm used to so many really good restaurants. However, since this is also a bakery, they have cookies, pies and other pastries so save room-they are GOOD! Our next stop on the tour was Tabor Hill this place was crowed! It was also funny that while on our tour we saw 2 other bachelorette partys. Apparently, this is a popular thing to do in New Buffalo. While at the Tabor Hill winery and restaurant, we did a wine tour first and afterwards got to try all there different wine. What was nice about the tour was that everything was set up for us before our arrival. Our group of twelve had our own tasting room that was set up for us. It was nice because other groups upstairs seemed to be crowed. They let us try 6 of there wines. My favorites were the Traminette and Cab Franc. All other the other ones were a little too sweet for my taste. We went to another winery but I can't remember for the life of me what it's called. I think it was St. Julian winery. With this one we had tokens and were allowed only 5 samples, but they it was a decent pour. By the end of our wine tour and a few drinks later. Everyone on the tour was having a great time. On our tour there was 2 older couples that were celebrating her retirement and we all got along great! We were having a great time chatting until we got to the next winery. They really did save the best for last. The last one we went to was Round barn. It was on a Saturday and boy was it crowded. However, since we were on the tour we didn't have to wait in line to purchase the wine tasting. We got to go right up to the tasting room and pass the lines. For this one we were also given 5 tokens. I loved all the wine here, I was even surprised that they had cranberry wine. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet things but the girl who was helping us with the tasting told us it was her favorite. They have a martini that is 3 parts cranberry wine and 1 part vodka. It was delicious and I could have drank that for the rest of the night but I knew if I did I'd been on the floor. After we had done our tasting, our group moved to the outdoor space where they have a bunch of tables, picnic benches and a live band to listen to. In addition to the wines at Red barn they also make their own beer and vodka. Boy, is it delicious. I went with the coco stout and love every sip of it. If you love dark beers and stouts you should give it a try. Some of the other girls tried the wheat beer and really like that too. After we had been at the round bar for about an hour and a half, Al came to find all of us. We all didn't want to leave because we were having such a great time! When we got back to New Buffalo, Al dropped us off at our condo and carried our wine in for us! He was the best! I can't recommend Al enough! My bachelorette party was this weekend and my MOH and I decided we go up to MI for the wineries and such. Fruitful Vine was the place that we chose to drive all 13 of us around. It is such a great idea! First of all, trying to get 13 women to decide who is going to drive to MI is about as hard as herding cats so just imagine trying to do the same for a bunch of wine tastings. This was a no-brainer. For about $100 per person, we got our own "Vino Coach," a tour of 4 wineries set-up by the company, and all wine tastings included. It was completely worth it. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves completely. The driver, Bill, picked us up from the house we were staying in, drove us around, gave a little spiel about each winery and kept us entertained. Have been coming to this area for, well let's say, a very long time. Had not heard of the tour but so glad I stumbled across it. It may have been a small group of us but what a perfect day. Took the New Buffalo route and visited Hickory Creek, Gravity, Dablon and The Round Barn with stop in between at a local deli for lunch. Our driver Bill was knowledgable, courteous, and fun. Nice variety of vineyards, each one we had never tried before. Most offered discounts for being part of the tour. Fairly wide variety of prices. (Tasting fee included in tour fee). We all bought at least a couple bottles at each. No pressure. Bill loaded up each purchase for everyone. The tour was relaxed with plenty of time to taste wines and get to know new friends. Ours began at 11:30 and ended around 5:30. Only critiques: 1) Purely tastings, no vineyard/facility tours. That might have been a nice addition. The tour site said we'd be done about 6:30 so I think there would have been time. Honestly we were having such a good time, none of us asked. We did get a photo op "inside" one vineyard. 2) We know there are limited options but eating at one of the stops would have been nicer. The deli was fine (and much needed time for food). read more

My husband got me this tour for our 3 year anniversary and we finally went last weekend - we had a blast! We visited 4 wineries: Karma Vista, Contessa, Gravity and Round Barn. All four were so different and had their own highlights. PLUS, we had some extra time to stop at a little chocolate store - YUM! You don't have to worry about driving after drinking or getting lost trying to follow a wine tour map. We were able to just sit back and relax. Our guide Andy was great! My friends and I have made the Fruitful Vine Winery Tour an annual girls weekend! I've gone 3 times now, and have had Bill (who looks like a Bob as he says!). He's GREAT! Funny, laid-back, always willing to take pictures of your group, and easy to chat with. He is very knowledgable on the area and the wineries. We've hit up a couple different wineries on the tour, but I always love The Round Barn. It's a brewery and a winery. I've been there when it's been super busy during a festival, and when we've been the only people there. Both times it was an awesome experience. The Edel Doux (sp) is one of my FAVORITE sweet white wines! Over Christmas, I ordered so many bottles to give as gifts and people always LOVE IT! It was easy to spend over $100 to get the free shipping!! One of their fruit-flavored beers was great too! Everyone on staff was so friendly! Gravity is a must-see! It has a beautiful deck & scenery. They compliment your wine tastings with cheese & crackers. I haven't loved the wine there enough to purchase a bottle as I do the other wineries, but the atmosphere makes it so worth it. We have eaten lunch there during the summer when they making delicious pizzas and sandwiches on their outside grill. We've also visited 12 Corners (beautiful tasting room and knowledgable staff!), Contessa (great outside deck to sip on your wines! & yummy semi-sweet wines!) & Karma Vista (great staff as well!). We had so much fun on the wagon wine tour. 2 years ago we took the bus ride but this was so much better. We went the last weekend in October and it was so pretty with the leaves changing and the other people on the wagon were very friendly. We had Brian our driver and he made sure we were taken care of at EVERY Winery, held the door for us, and brought our wine back out to the wagon. We went to Lemon Creek, Round Bar, and Gravity. My husband scored a 10 for choosing the Fruitful Vine Winery Tour out of New Buffalo to celebrate our anniversary. Our tour guide Bill was friendly and helpful. He gave us enough space to do our tastings yet was right there loading our purchases before we could lift a finger. This tour made it possible for both my husband and I to taste any and all wines that we wanted without having to worry about driving afterwards. The tour picked us up right by our hotel and delivered us to the front door at the end. Definitely a great experience, and we will return to do the more northern route in the future. read more

I'm sad to say, but I was extremely disapointed with this tour. The tour stops at four wineries and also stops for lunch. To sum up the experience, our driver for the tour was awful and without any sort of sociable personality, and of the five stops on the tour, three of them were unpleasant experiences. I will go into more detail about each. The first stop was Karma Vista Winery. I thought the wines there were mediocre at best. Our tasting guide/server was also very short tempered and unfriendly. When asked if he would take a picture of our group, he said "not now maybe after the tasting." That comment set the tone for the rest of the tour. Our second winery stop was 12 Corners. I have to say, I really enjoyed the tasting there. Rhonda served us, and she was wonderful. She answered our questions and was on top of pouring our wine when our glasses were empty. We also tried the $3.00 ice wine tasting there and did not enjoy the taste. Rhonda was very gracious and refunded our money. Our next stop was lunch, if you could call it that. Lunch isn't included in the price of the tour. The Wine tours I've gone to in Napa (which incedentially were cheaper then this tour) provided cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, salads and a variety of sandwiches. Fruitful Vine brought us to The Baroda Tap & Grille. This place was a filthy and dingy bar. Just walking through the door was enough to make you lose your appetite. Everything on the menu was some kind of meaty fried food. The salads on the menu were also very unappealing. The food just wasn't good. Gravity was the next winery stop on the tour. The grounds that the winery is on are very scenic and beautiful. We were initially excited for the tasting here. I had four people in my group and we each tried four different wines. They were all terrible to the point that my whole group dumped every single wine tasting out. We sat on the lovely patio in the back of the Winery to have our tasting and had little bugs landing all over us. I'm not sure why Fruitful Vines would even include this Winery on their tour. The last stop was Round Barn Winery, which we all liked. You have a choice of wine or spirit tasting here. We all enjoyed Round Barn's wines. They also had live music, a restaurant and outdoor grill. I'm not sure why Fruitful vines just didn't make this Winery the second stop and eat lunch there. Had Fruitful Vines done this (even with all of the other disappointments), it would have made for a much more enjoyable tour. Our drive, Andy didn't have any personality. He interacted with the group very little and had no humor at all. The one joke he did make was that he enjoyed one of Round Barn's spirits so much that he put it in his coffee that morning before he drove a big bus with a big group of people. Not funny Andy! To sum everything, the tour was not worth the money. I would skip it and do your own tour. It would have been better to choose the Wineries yourself and take cabs or Uber. read more

We were picked up promptly, if not a little early for our wine tour this past Saturday. Our tour guide, Richard was funny and welcoming as we made our way to 4 wineries. We visited Gravity, Lemon Creek, Tabor Hill and Roundbarn on our tour. I was so happy to spend the most time at Roundbarn as it had a funk band playing as well as a great outdoor party. booked a trip to celebrate my girlfriends milestone birthday. We live an hour away from New Buffalo, MI and have always wanted to do the wine tours and not have to drive. What a plesant experience. We had a very comfortable air conditioned bus, a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide (Bill), and a great experience at all of the wineries. They even call your lunch order in while at one stop so it is ready and wiating for you when you arrive at the lunch stop.
