Smoked Salmon Bagel- to die for!

The people are always so nice and the food is delicious. I love this local spot in Chula Vista.

Frutas is a Mexican juicery that serves up smoothies, salads, sandwiches (tortas), fruit bowls etc. I enjoy going here for their natural juices and tortas. The bread on the torta is what makes the sandwich really good, it is perfectly toasted and delivered fresh daily. I've gotten the salad before and in my opinion, it's not worth the price. It's a very basic salad with a protein choice and you're better off making it yourself. The customer service is good, the Hispanic ladies know enough English for you to order and explain what's in each item on the menu, but not to hold a conversation. Plenty of parking in an open parking lot! Would recommend trying out a torta and some juice if in the area. Frutas is a small shop that can seat 12 people.

Food is always amazing here and I always feel healthy when eating it. From what I've noticed, their ingredients are fresh and the fruit always has vibrant colors. Service in my opinion is good. Never been in a busy day though so that might vary. For this review I got the Chia/Energy Bowl with a Diet Juice: mixed greens smoothie.

I was in the area and was starving. I didn't want fast food and being gluten-free. I needed to watch what I ate. They have a little something for everyone, and it's geared for a healthier approach. I had a salad with salmon on top, and my friend had a wrap that looked filling and delicious. The juices and the cut-up fruit looked amazing, too. If you're in the area please give them a try.

This is my favorite little Mexican fruit spot because it's affordable and clean, and the food is very delicious. My favorite is probably the Farmers Shrimp Salad because it has different kinds of lettuce, and the cheese is tasty. My Princess doesn't really like juice, but since we've been eating here, she likes it a lot. Thank you, Frutas, for always serving us delicious food and healthy drinks!!

    Fruit salad

The restaurant was nice and clean only thing saving it. The customer service was horrible and rushed with no one in the business by the way. Ordered a fruit salad and asked what came on it wasn't told it had any cottage cheese or sunflower seeds. I have a severe allergy to sunflower seeds. No were on the menu is it listed that it came with any seeds or granola either

At 7:24 PM, we were told it would be "2 minutes," but after waiting several more minutes, we decided to leave. There was also no greeting when we arrived, and it didn't appear to be very busy -- only two people were ahead of us. The wait felt unnecessarily long, especially with limited acknowledgment or communication. It honestly felt like there may have been some stalling since the shop was closing at 8 PM. I was really hoping to support this place, but the lack of service and communication made it difficult to stay.

It's located towards the end of the Otay Ranch Mall, right next to Planet Fitness. I personally think parking is not a challenge. The main road in the middle of the mall may be hard to find parking, but there's an abundance of parking outside the mall on either side you go on. The place itself is very small. It's more of a to-go place. Granted they do have a counter with enough to fit maybe 3 people. There's seats outside and plenty of spots through the mall to sit and eat. But the place was pretty clean. Their menu offered quite a bit of fresher and healthier options to eat and drink. They had juices, sandwiches, smoothies and more, things that would be the right choice to eat after a workout. Service was pretty good in my opinion. There was only one person working there at the time we went (not sure if he was the owner) but he was super kind and had great customer service skills. He was working hard and explaining to us in good detail about some of the stuff we didn't know about (example the Vitale Sauce). Surprisingly, food was pretty good. The fish was fresh and he packed the bowl pretty well. The fish had a really nice color to it so that was reassuring. We got two small bowls (around $13 per bow) and one medium bowl (Around $15 per bowl) and we did think price matched what we paid for. The worker was also very generous on the toppings. I do see myself coming back here. I think it's smart that it opened up right next to the gym. But they're really good poke and at the same time, some of their sandwiches and juices caught my eye, so I will definitely be back to try them again.

You get a piece of paper with the sandwich choices on it. Then, you fill it out with which: bread, meat, onions, lettuce, avocado, cheese, etc. on it. The sandwich with a bag of Sprouts chips and a water is $6. Sandwich with a bag of chips and a smoothie is $11. We waited about 15-20mins for our 3 sandwiches. There were other customers who also waited this long for their sandwiches, which is pretty disappointing. They have a lot of fresh meat in the butcher's shelf. There is jerk flavored chicken breasts, cajun spice flavored chicken breasts, and many seasoned kebobs. Everything looked delicious. We enjoyed our sandwiches, they were made well. My rye bread was fresh, the turkey meat had good flavor, and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. We found a lot of cool things here. Japanese mayonnaise, "Kewpie Mayo". We also saw Lemon Tzatziki Potato chips, we picked up a package of peanut butter cookies on the way out. I hope that they get more efficient at the deli sandwich counter. The time to get a sandwich was way too long.

It's pretty fresh and not a fishy taste/smell. They will even take requests. Lately I will call one of my homegirls and yell, "Sushi Wednesdays!" And we will laugh and laugh and make our way over. Do not sleep on chunky cookie time. The singular packed chocolate chip cookies are delicious. Better than some local bakery cookies I have had and cheaper in price, but not quality. This location has my favorite sandwich and smoothie and deli/butcher. They are the friendliest people with hearts waiting to serve and you can tell they like their jobs. They are easy to exchange words with here. The store is clean and organized. I can find way more stuff here than other locations. It is spacious and it has been rare that I have been shopping while it was overly crowded. The crowded area I would say would be the sandwich/smoothie deli during lunchtime for sure because schools/colleges/trade programs in the area will all come and get the lunch specials. The sandwich deal is so smart of them to do because in this economy, it is harder to find a good deal. Back in the day, they used to include sprouts in the sandwiches for free, but now in 2026 I rarely see sprouts sold in stores even. Healthiest smoothie I have had was the green detox, highly recommended. Every single week a different smoothie goes on sale so check the weekly ads for your favorite smoothie. The meat quality is amazing always! I always get chicken, fish, and beef on sale. I have gotten sick before from meats from markets that inject hormones in the meats. I trust Sprouts a lot and have never gotten sick from their raw meats. High quality for sure.
