I had not been to Frutas in several years and this week I felt like having a fruit salad. I ordered a torta especial and a small fruit salad. The torta was huge, but I am used to saving the second half for another day, but the fruit salad was very disappointing. I ordered it with mango and watermelon for an extra charge, but the mango was not ripe or ready to be used for salads. It was very hard and without flavor. The other disappointment was the pineapple, another fruit that was not ripe and had not flavor. Why would you sell fruit salads with non-ripe fruits??? read more

They insisted it would take another 15 minutes. I wouldn't be so frustrated yet watching other people getting their big orders before mine made me think they did it to me on purpose. Frutas is a Mexican juicery that serves up smoothies, salads, sandwiches (tortas), fruit bowls etc. I enjoy going here for their natural juices and tortas. The bread on the torta is what makes the sandwich really good, it is perfectly toasted and delivered fresh daily. I've gotten the salad before and in my opinion, it's not worth the price. It's a very basic salad with a protein choice and you're better off making it yourself. The customer service is good, the Hispanic ladies know enough English for you to order and explain what's in each item on the menu, but not to hold a conversation. Plenty of parking in an open parking lot! Would recommend trying out a torta and some juice if in the area. Frutas is a small shop that can seat 12 people. read more

This is my favorite little Mexican fruit spot because it's affordable and clean, and the food is very delicious. My favorite is probably the Farmers Shrimp Salad because it has different kinds of lettuce, and the cheese is tasty. Service right now was terrible talk about not using common sense. I placed a $40 order over the phone. We arrive the milk shake was ready but the sandwiches weren't. They hand us the milkshake my daughter starts drinking it but they tell us to wait on charge. 10 min later food is ready I go up to pay. She assumed card payment but I have cash she gets bothered says oh sorry wait because everyone pays card. Ok so I wait for her to reset device while she has a bothered mood. What proceeds to happen next though... My order $40 I pay with a $100 bill she says I'm not sure if I have change doesn't even open the register. She flies the bill on the air and asks the lady with bright orange hair, "tenemos cambio?" She replies without even checking no no no tenemos cambio. Walks up to me and says I don't know what you're going to do but we don't have change. What am I gonna do what are you going to do is what's going through my brain I'm here order already being consumed and I'm paying. My daughter gives me an embarrassed look so I ask her politely what would you like to do. She tells me rudely you're gonna have to go ask the businesses next door if they have change. Lady why didn't you go ask your neighbors for change? Anyway I'm go but they don't have change I come back and tell her they didn't have change and offer keep the bill I'll be back this afternoon for my change and again she rudely replies we can't do that! At this point I'm pissed off and reply ok what do you want to do? We NEVER get Chips sauce. It's not once, twice, or even 3 times. Surprisingly, beyond fruit, smoothies and tortas, Frutas offered lentil soup with oyster crackers. My party ordered avocado toast, apple juice+ginger and a cup of lentil soup. Each item was flavorful. The avocado toast is garnished with a medley of seasonings as well as cut hard boiled egg. And if you want something light, the apple juice and ginger is a refreshing combination in a hot day. The lentil soup was gently seasoned and the broth was good. Small shop in a business complex surrounding many places for dining! Stopped in for an elite cup and I enjoyed it! I was in town for a couple of weeks and meant to come by and try other items in the menu, I didn't make it however plan to swing by next time I'm in town! I have been to this Frutas a few times but today was exceptionally bad. I'm always greeted in Spanish, which I don't mind, but I feel the quality of my order is dependent on my accent or ability to speak in fluent Spanish. Today, my large fresh "juice" was 80% foam and gross. Likely because I could not understand the woman who took my order in Spanish and maybe she did not think my Spanish was deserving of real Mexican style juice, maybe she thought I wouldn't notice; either way, my drink is horrible - I highly do not recommended going here, unless your Español is on point! I'm so excited they have opened up so close to my work. Everything is so fresh and tastes amazing. The Acai bowl was the perfect size (definitely bigger than it seems) and packed with banana and strawberries. They even put the honey on top of the acai instead of on top of the fruit like most places do, which can make a mess sometimes, so I appreciated that. It's the little things.
