Frutchey Eye Care has been one of my best finds this year. The entire office staff, from the front desk, to the optician to the optometrist were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I was able to get in quickly for an appointment (no waiting for weeks!), and I saw Dr. Mark. He was very thorough in his explanations, and I didn't spend too much time waiting for him. The whole process was pretty easy, and he made sure to demonstrate why I might benefit from new glasses (I knew it was long past time though, he didn't need to convince me- I was having a hard time reading street signs at night and knew I needed to get that taken care of ASAP). The selection of glasses is a tad pricy but there are loads of them, and my coverage is decent. The co-pay for the actual office visit wasn't much at all, and they answered all my questions happily. I would definitely recommend them. The day my glasses came in, I got a call late in the evening, and rushed to get there before they closed at 7. I made it at about 6:58 and they were happy to take care of me regardless of the time, which was greatly appreciated. Just to note, the optician isn't available on Wednesdays. I would definitely recommend Frutchey Eye Care for all your optometry needs!

There are 2 doctors in here and at least 7-8 patients in the office at once. They overbook. I wasn't asked if the appointment was for contacts or eye glasses. I was told it would be an additional $94 and another appointment which would cost me another 2 hours (probably more with these wait times) for a contact lens exam. No. Just no.

Put in an appt and booked Nov 6. All online. Realize that Dr Bever isn't accepting new patients, and try to call in for another appt / clarity on who the Dr would be. Called 6 times. VM every time. Called on a Monday (they are off) and left a VM. Got a text this morning, which I've asked not to be texted. Email or phonecall. Called 4 times today, saw an appt available for 1:45 and wanted to see if it was actually available and who would be the Dr. (I've called about 6-8 times since my initial booking / referral in 2 weeks) Randomly called about 20 mins ago, got someone abrupt and rude who was more about getting me off the phone than to address my questions. Made me feel stupid that I 'didn't see the note while getting set up for the appt'. You'll be put with someone else. I ask ok... is it always this hard to get someone on the phone? I was told there are 2 people at the desk all morning, my phone is the problem (yeah, calling from 3 different devices that all didn't connect right?). And when asking about the text? "Oh that was me, its easier so I don't have to call people 'that early' in the morning. The text was received 9:38am, your business opens at 10am. What are you talking about? "Aside from all of that, do you want to book with Dr So and so or not?" I choose not, thank you. And never again. I see the majority of these reviews are nonsense - I wanted clarity on what I was booked for and the person on the other end of the phone decided she was going to wake up and said "I choose violence' apparently.

So, it's been over a year since my first review so it's time to do some updating. First of all,…read moreI've converted my brother and mother into Trinity fans. I took my brother in (who suffers from severe social anxiety) to get his eyes checked and some new glasses. He really liked the place and didn't feel any major anxiety at all thanks to the place being smaller and the fact that they don't seem to double book appointments like some places where you can't even find a seat for the 2 hour long wait to see the doc. He also liked the frame selection and even a year later is happy with the great quality of the lenses which haven't flaked as our others have. I went for my yearly appointment in Jan or Feb and again enjoyed the friendly atmosphere created by the staff and doctors. Dr. Ellison gave epically rocking explanations on some of the worries he had about my optic nerves and even brought in his wife just to get a second opinion because he wanted to give me the best possible help. I've never before been to a doctor that explained things so well as usually they just tend to tell you a diagnoses and expect you to google it to find out exactly what it means. I'm loving my glasses once again. :) The newest convert, my mother, luckily got an appointment on the day before Mother's Day and they were having one of there many events to celebrate Mother's Day by giving out roses and providing snacks and drinks. When she was finished with the doctor and we drove of, she could not stop gushing at how great the doctor was and how she never wants to go to her usual eye clinic again. She said he made her laugh and she appreciates his knowledge and the way he did the explanations. On a side note to my epic review, I recommend ignoring that 2 star review I noticed considering that it's not the doctors office fault that insurance companies in general make life difficult for everyone. I've never had a problem with any of the front desk girls who have always been polite and accommodating. As a past medical biller myself at a large medical office, I always recommend calling the insurance company yourself if you are concerned about coverage or price as they sometimes do not give accurate and up to date information to the doctor offices. Definitely TL;DR? Place is still awesome. Doctors actually explain what they are doing and any problems they see. They often have fun events where they offer discounts on lenses. Frame selection is good and lens quality is fantastic. Go there and you'll be a customer for life.

Not only do you get an opportunity to see the *very* latest styles out, but you can try them on, ask questions of the reps, check sizing and pricing... Even better, they usually bring out some finger foods and sparkling wine, sometimes even a massage therapist giving chair massages! So, you can relax, have a little bubbly, have a few bites of sushi or strawberries, loosen up some of that tension, and feel fabulous as you get ideas of what frames will make you *look* fabulous. I found my adorable, flattering, modern cat-eye style Mark Jacobs (MJ377 -- see my pic) frames and was impressed to find that....I couldn't find them anywhere else! Seriously -- I had a hard time even finding them via a web search at the time. Hooray for not having to look like everyone else! Donnie and a few of the ladies there were exceptionally courteous and patient with all of my questions, phone calls, etc.Their communication and follow-up was wonderful. They even ordered in a few other frames that they usually don't carry so I could get a better idea of how they would look and feel....even if I didn't even up buying them. And, thankfully, they were also totally honest about what styles/shapes/colors worked for me and what didn't. Donnie also helped me to make sure I wouldn't go over my budget when it came down to the bottom line. I'll definitely be back when I next need frames!

Thankfully I don't have any major issues with my eyes; regardless, I am overdue for a full checkup. Scheduling a visit with Dr. Hunt was a breeze. When you call the office a real person picks up on the other end. After a brief conversation and providing my insurance details I had an appointment for the following week, sweet! The representatives at the office call ahead to remind you of your appointment and also send a email if you choose to provide one. The office is tucked away off the main road and is in it's own building; one of several in this medical complex. The staff greet you when you enter and they do a great job keeping everything clean and organized. I was impressed with the layout, fitting areas, and variety of glasses frames they have available. Dr. Hunt was friendly and informative. I asked for the comprehensive vision and eye exam which includes dilation, several visual and ocular tests, and scans of both eyes. Note that dilation and other tests cost about $20 more, each. Dr. Hunt was very knowledgeable and provided valuable feedback while answering all my questions. Dr. Hunt also provided a prescription for glasses that would help reduce strain when reading or driving at night; however, he stated that I have better than 20/20 vision so It's not necessary at this time. All and all I had a great experience at Hunt Eyecare and definitely recommend them. If you are in need of a great optometrist, Dr. Hunt is the one.
