I am a bit disappointed in the "farmer" aspect of this market. There seems to be only 1 main produce vendor and their prices are way too similar to Publix and some items are even more expensive! The produce selection doesn't have any real gems except for the lychees. Those are sold by multiple vendors and at a very good price! Sadly, the produce aspect of the market is underwhelming and defeats the real purpose of a farmer's market. HOWEVER, the product stalls are full of really nice gems. The best one is the fresh ceviche truck. $5 gets you a very generous portion of fish ceviche. It is super fresh and well seasoned. The kettle corn found at another stand is that perfect sweet and salty marriage that only the best of snacks can achieve. The fact that it is made in small batches with a lot of attention to detail is very evident! The arepas are really great! Not your standard fair food - these are authentic arepas that can be stuffed with a variety of options like pork or veggies and not just cheese. There is also a brick oven pizza stand. The pizza is very thin crust and good if eaten right away. Took leftovers home and they did not fare well at all :( Really liked the pooch perks booth. They have homemade treats and toys for your pets and the owners were very nice to my little boy. Market also has the follwoing stands: smoothies, Indian curries, asian fruits, gelato and some clothing and handmade creams. I'll go back for the finished food products, not the produce. They both offer a lot of the same things, in particular Fruits and Cooked Foods but Frank's has more value and at least to me better and fresher quality food. The food is not precooked and sitting under a heat lamp for hours. They also offer convenience items like toilet paper and dog food. But what I come here for and continue to come time after time is for their Masa Fritas (Fried Pork Chunks) and their Cuban Tamales. For the ridiculous price of $3.50 they give you a very generous portion of Masa Fritas with in onions and mojo. And the Tamales are always moist and delicious. I've never had a dry one yet. Service is usually quick and you can tell regulars go here a lot. They have a great menu selection and some of the prices are borderline ridiculous at how low they are. But I'm not going to complain. Mama's Guava Bars are a unique and true to Miami snack!…read more I first discovered the bars at the Coral Gables Farmer's Market a few years back. Since then, I've seen them pop up at different shops, bakeries and stores all around Miami. What are they? Essentially a bar that consists of guava pulp in the middle, encased by two shortbread cookies. There are four different flavors - Naked, Cinnamon, Hazelnut and Chocolate Almond. I've tried and enjoyed them all, but at the end of the day, really enjoy the plain 'ol Naked flavor! They're great for breakfast, midday snack, dessert, and also a great swap from traditional pastelitos. You can order them online at $14 for a 12 pack ($15 for the chocolate flavor) and also follow them on Facebook to see where they'll be popping up next. I personally look forward to following their journey and will continue to bring these special treats to out-of-towners that want a taste of Miami.
