The store made guacamole here is the reason I have trust issues (not daddy issues believe it or not). I get spicy - it's mild, I get mild- it's spicy. I get ahead of the game and buy mild thinking maybe it'll be spicy - it's basically blended up avocado paste with 2 pieces of tomato in it.... You get the point. This grocery store was nice for about 2 weeks. You can put a brand new nice grocery store in AJ but you can't take the AJ out of pretty much anything located in the town limits. I see that I am not the only person who thinks its insane to have to buy (4) cases of pop just to get a decent price on it. We are typically not pop drinkers but like to have in it in the house for the kids and grandkids. ...Went in to buy a couple of sale items from the circular w/out realizing it wasn't that simple. To get 4 12packs of soda for $10, you need to spend an additional $25. And, to get the Captain Morgan Spiced rum 750ml bottles for $9.79 each, you have to buy 6 bottles. That's almost $60 to get a sale. Why in the hell do I need 6 bottles of rum?! I guess they thought Jack Sparrow would be hitting this sale. I think if you just want to buy 4 12packs of soda or one bottle of rum, you should get the sale price w/out having to be forced to spend additional money. My biggest complaint about this location is the coed bathrooms. There are two non-gender specific bathrooms. I didn't think I would be bothered, but there's something about going in after a strange man that gave me the heebie jeebies. Just sayin'. I thought selection and prices were good. The store is huge! Bought a cake 2 days ago for husband's birthday. Took out of refrigerator today and it was moldy. Took it back and they told me I should have eaten it by today. The stickers said sell by today, not eat by today. They exchanged and told me I had to eat it by the 5th, which is the sell by date. Very rude bakery. Instead of apology, got a lecture. I like the store but I HATE LOOKING FOR THE HAND BASKETS that should be at the freakn front store entrance every time not wandering thru each freakn checkout stand wasting valuable shopping time!!! I bought a mastercard 100.00 gift card that when I got home would not register I called frys in AJ and spoke to a manager "Bobby" he just laughed and thought it was funny that I bought gift card that cannot be used but he did tell me its non refundable.. stay away from frys altogether I will shop bashas, Albertsons,safeway or Walmart never frys again. I loved Fry's, I have shopped there for every since they have been opened in Apache Junction. I have never had a problem with shopping there. And I was never worried about my safety. But on 3/5/22 that changed everything. I had order over $150 from their Deli department for our Adoption party that day. I showed up to pick my order up that was supposed to be ready by 11:30am. I walked up to 2 Bakery associates that were just standing there talking and asked them where I would get my order. They said to go to the Deli. I went to the side of the counter and told them I came to get my order. I notice an associate was making trays behind the machines that slice the deli. But she looked at me and gave no response. I was told by all 4 associates working in the deli that I needed to take a number. So I did, they were on 18 and I was number 27. I was not very happy, waited there for over 30 minutes to get my order. Once they brought my order up, I realized they had only made 4 trays not 5 like I ordered. I was told by the gentleman that was helping me, that I didn't order 5. Then we figured out the last one was on the back page and was never made. He stated that he has never made one so he will have to get his manager. I asked for the store manager and he said can I get you the Deli manager. I replied yes but I would also like to see the store manager. The Deli manager comes up and reviews the order form and also agrees that the 5th tray was never made. She offered to make it for me but it might take awhile because she has never made one. The store manager comes up and I'm explaining what has took place and questioned her about having to wait thru 11 people before getting my order for the party. And that one tray was never even made. Her response was shaking her head up and down and she told me to that why would not charge me for the one that tray they did not make and they would make it now. By this time my party had started and there was no food there yet. The store manager said why don't you go check out and I will bring you the tray. As I turned to go check out, a customer that had no part of this conversation , told me to give it a rest and went in front of me. I said it was really none of this business and that he was the one with a Adoption party going on with no food. He called me a XXXXXX XXXXX and turned around grabbed my cart with both hands and shoved it into me. As I was walking in front the the customer serviced, I yelled and asked for someone to call security and the cops. Not any associate or customer came to help. It wasn't until I was up out the self check out that anyone responded to me. Mean while the guy left his cart and left out the store. There was one lady up there that asked what was wrong and asked me if I wanted the police called. No one took this seriously, No one wanted to deal with this, no one had me sit down, give me water, or even willing to pull tape to see what occurred. Security did show up for at least 5-10 mins, and they have security there every day. So what was the difference now? Why wasn't this taking seriously? Were is compassion for human being? My family has shopped at Apache Junction Fry's location for 10 plus years and have been very pleased till now. This last week I was looking to buy bacon and a few other items. I noticed that the items near and including the bacon had sell by dates almost two months ago. One had may 4th 2014. I found five different items and total more than 20, yes 20+ i made a huge pile. It appeared that the stockers had not checked any dates for at least two month's. When I talked to store manager he stated he would talk to that department. Didn't seem to be that important to him because he continued doing a walk thru with a produce employee. Nasty, now im wondering if the lunch meat is what got my son and I sick last week. If you want to get bummed out, to get in the mood, just visit the new Fry's on Idaho in Apache Junction. They seem to be the most miserable people. I just went to purchase a couple of things and had the misfortune of not using self -check. Robots would be preferable to running the gauntlet of miserable unhappy unfriendly people that I encountered at the checkout. The cashier did not even look in my direction, no matter look at me, her completely disinterested demeanor and mopey expression and robotic performance was enough to turn anyone off. The only person to say anything positive was the lowly bagger who showed more class than the supposedly more able cashier or the same can be said for the Manager for the cashiers who, without even looking at me, I gave her an opportunity to do so, said here's your tomatoes while making an obvious effort to look anywhere but in my direction. This Fry's is wonderful. Always great stock of fresh food, produce, everything. We never have to wait in line more than a minute. There are always lanes open and moving fast with friendly staff to meet you when you get there. We shop at this Frys every week and wouldn't go anywhere else. Especially Walmart here!! The only drawback to this location is it is PACKED. If you find a parking space, get it and go in because it's wall to wall filled most days. read more

The new Fry's is disappointing. Looks like something out of Illinois not very western and doesn't blend into Superstition Mountain skyline. Big sore thumb. Opening prices were disappointing too. The deli area/tv isn't appealing at all. The floor by Starbucks is a lawsuit waiting to happen. High windows let too much sun in. We waited to go later in evening to beat some of the rush. Caught the meat department as they were starting to close. Still meat in cases. Wouldn't help us. Said open all day. I don't want to make another trip. Wouldn't help me. Not pleasant at all. A true customer service and professionalism FAIL. Let's start with the super obnoxious, loud-as-hell, ultra annoying woman in the deli-department. Good Lord, if she would just shut up and do her job, I wouldn't have to stand in line as long. I don't think she understands that she has a job to do, and it isn't to make buddy-buddy with every customer she encounters. Moving to the meat department, which is chalk-full of some of the most unfriendly, antisocial folks I've encountered in a grocery store, there you'll find little help and lesser smiles. Skipping all of the knit-picki g and getting to checking out; it's hit or miss. I've had friendly, competent clerks and I've had the displeasure of encountering their opposites. The store prices are too high, in general as well. I now typically shop Walmart instead. read more

Lot's of choices but lacks quality in cooked foods. We tried the new flash frozen 1-2-3 shrimp scampi - it was ok. 2nd visit wanted pizza but 40 min wait without many people in the store on a Tuesday night?. Nothing was precooked and guys didn't look busy at all. So went with the Pan Asian cooked meals - stay away. The Teriyaki was ok (light on meats heavy on rice) and will not buy again. The Orange Chicken was not edible - super dry and returning it for refund - absolutely awful. Rice in both plates was very sticky and did appear to be cooked correctly. Other than the prepped foods the store itself is huge with lots on products. Couldn't help but notice teenage workers taking break and sitting with friends at store front table area. They were smoking cigarettes talking loud - off putting as this should be area for customers and don't like walking through cigarette smoke entering and leaving store. read more

They don't supply what they promise in the deli! When you work a long hot day, and plan on something they say will be available to purchase,...and they don't have it, ...and they say they will have it in 10 mins.....then, after 10 mins., and spending my money on a beer at their bar, they look at you funny and ask you what you want?!! I can spend my money somewhere else. It's a shame that if you are a full time resident in A/J, you get the second class service. This is the worst Fry's I've ever felt with. Hey world did you know that some people live and work on the other end of the day I am speaking of the people that work the night shifts no its not vettas or little elfes that do the stocking and repair of all that has to be done in the night in support of the people that have the daytime jobs or life most of the time referred to as the normal people so with that said myself being abnormal because of working most of my life in the late hours of the night and early mornings its bad that most places are not open fo business all night like they are in the day time but when a store like FRYS is open till midnight that means that if I arive there at 1159 pm I should be allowed to go into the store and do my shopping without being pressured to get my stuff and get out and then to make it worst you have to get around all the paletes of stocking items that are sitting in the aisle which I do understand they have to do but dont tell me the store is closed when I arive before midnight and second allow me the time I need to get what I came for taking a few minutes after midnite do what I could do in half the time if did not have to go around all the stuff in the aisle or look under stuff blocking in the cooler that have been turned off and covers pulled down for the night when the store hours are from 5am to midnite then thats what they should be nd I should be allowed the same treatment as any one who comes in the store during the day Ihave lived live in apache juncion for over fifty years I shop my hometown store so have some respect for those of us that are not on the same time as most of the NORMAL people as they say I dont think this will change to much about how the daywalkers do business but this is just a good way to vent and let some know tht this world goes around because some of us are night walkers and do have to put up with some of the BS The "DOC-TORR"said that and feels alot better now !!! read more

This place is always crowded and they have the over stock in the way which makes the crowded place harder to move around in. And the vegetables are NOT fresh!! The staff doesn't know how to put up an "out of stock" sign when they run out of whole milk! read more

I'm not excited about having to buy 4 cases of Pepsi in order to avoid paying $5 a case. But Today I broke down and did it. When I got to checkout, they told me I hadn't spent enuf money to get that price. I was .50 cents short. No where in the ads does it talk about requiring a "minimum purchase on groceries" as part of the 4 for $9 price. I think its a deceptive policy. read more

Absolutley Terrible Store! Used to shop at Walmart, but wanted a change due to a lack of customer service there, this store is beyond terrible! They have zero customer service and when something does get messed up, I have emailed the corporate site many times with a promise of the store manager contacting me which has never happend! Johnny and Will in produce are so caring, informative and fun. Each and every time we go to the self check out, we are given VIP royal treatment no matter how busy this place buzzes. However, the true reason for this, is the lady who works in Floral for decades. She always has a professional, friendly demeanor, however, after shopping for house plants at Lowe's and Home Depot, the meticulous care that she has given these plants should be placed in a museum of fine art. If you find one speck of dust on a leaf of a plant, I would be astonished. The care and maintenance of this women's department is impeccable. read more
