I asked for paper and the bag person was annoyed! So he put my bread at the bottom of the bag!! Now it all squished from cans on the bag. I spent over $100 in groceries today and every week. He didn't know how to bag anything. My mom was behind him. He refused to use her reusable bags for her stuff. I had to rebag her stuff too. The cashier was Phyllis . She was nice. This is my go-to grocery store in the area. The place is huge with many different fresh food sections available: deli, meat, bakery, bread (with slicers), salad bar, hot food area, sushi, and of course Starbucks! There is also a seating area to enjoy your food at. The flower department is always impressive. I have never left this Fry's without finding what I need. This place is always busy which means the parking lot is packed. But there are plenty of checkout lines so you never have to wait long. read more

Never get a pick up order at this location. If they miss items and still charge you for them they don't take accountability and say sorry the only excuse is we are short staffed. My job and everyone's job is right now. Don't charge me money for items that I don't have and now have to come back and get in the store. This frys is open pretty late which I love- it gets so busy and sometimes you get some odd ones in there mostly later in the night. I love that they have so many self check out! I believe there is 3 rows of them. So even though it get a busy it's ok being you usually don't wait. They have good pre made food if that is something you like. It's not my thing but people seem to like it. They have a sushi and salad bar also. There is free WiFi and a plave to sit and chill I'd maybe you're grabbing lunch or breakfasts here. Frys is the only store I shop people are usually helpful. At times their prices are not consistent with the other frys I go to. That's weird to me but doesn't mean I'll stop going. read more

This review only for the pharmacy department.Support staff very lackadaisical in their approach to filling prescriptions. Came to pick up prescriptions and staff said none was called in... very adamant that no order was received. After numerous phone calls to verify prescriptions were ordered, staff finds my prescription order on the table. Unfortunately this happen couple times. Writing this in hopes that hiring department do a better job or whomever is in charge can train the staff better. Will have to find another pharmacy which is a bummer since I usually do my grocery shopping at the same time and this location is so close. read more

Click List review: I am so tired of something going wrong with every order I place. Last week I got this weird gray ground beef. I have had plenty of orders where something is forgotten that I paid for. I hate paying a $5 fee for each Click List purchase and then I have to come back AGAIN to fix what they did wrong. They are constantly bagging fresh meat with produce. Last week I had my laundry detergent in the same bag as my baby's food! They either don't care, or aren't properly trained. As a regular Click List customer this is all very aggravating. I pay for a service each week to save time, and it's doing the opposite when I have to make two trips to fix careless mistakes. read more

The most innovated grocery store in the central corridor area of Phoenix. Fry's has been here for many years but this newly renovated Fry's is the one stop shop for all your grocery needs. I am forever a fan of Whole Foods and Trader Joes. I will never stop shopping there but I have to say they have some competition in town. Fry's has really stepped up the game to compete and they have won valley shoppers over. Whole Foods and Trader Joes have their faithful clientele. They attract a certain demographic but this Fry's locations will attract them all. Where do I begin there are so many exciting details about this location. The store is similar to a warehouse store. They have large aisles and plenty of space to shop. Rather large produce section along with florals. Starbucks inside next to what appears to be a modern day sit down dining area that includes sushi, deli fresh options, premade items from sandwiches, salads and much more. What I like is there are meals for on the go or for small families. Bakery items include many premade baked goods. The liquor area is huge with so many options to choose from. The frozen freezer area has many fresh meat options. I am a fan favorite of the premade frozen meals you can scoop. I purchased the mango chicken with cilantro rice. A quick frozen meal that takes 7 mins to cook. No seasoning needed. It does not matter if you are feeding one or an army you scoop as much as you want as they charge by the pound. The remainder of the store has your everyday grocery items, household items from toiletries to cleaning. The checkout area is faster with self-check out as well. They still have a pharmacy on site and customer service. Parking has not been a problem at all even during the holiday season. I love my neighborhood Fry's. This Fry's has the new Clicklist service. I love it! You order on their website or phone if you have the app. You can put comments in like I did " Greenish bananas only". Pay online. Pick a date and time. Once you get to fry's, they have a special parking for clicklist. Park there, in front. Call the number listed, give your name. They bring out your order. They told me I could use coupons if I had them. I didn't - This time. They load your car up, you don't have to get out. I did. Forget wasting my Saturday Grocery shopping!! When I arrived back to Phoenix, I found ONE slice left of this incredible tasting Dutch apple pie on the counter, and I ate it. Then I felt bad and decided to buy a replacement. After texting Mark H., he informed me that he'd purchased the pie from Fry's. I trusted him (first mistake). Why make one when you can buy one that tastes this good? So, I busted my butt down to Fry's to get another one. I searched through bakery items trying to find the same box so I could buy the exact same pie. No luck. The hubby mentioned that maybe this isn't the right store to find that same pie. In fact, he remembered seeing that particular bakery box at another grocery store. GASP. I was desperate for more apple pie, and besides, Mark H. told me this store, so I bought the Dutch apple pie from Fry's anyway (second mistake). Sadly, the store only deserves 3 stars for baking up that 3 star pie but maybe Mark H. deserves only 3 stars for telling me the wrong store. read more

I drive out of my way to come to this Fry's, I love the service and that indescribable vibe this store has, that is what keeps me coming here! I was recently there and had the let down of having Alain at self check out laugh at me in just a rude and childish way after my Cranberry juice fell off the bagging carousel, then came again to me to take off the security cap off my vodka bottle in such a rude and disrespectful manner, this guy is in serious need of customer service and sensitivity training. If zero stars were available, I would choose that. Went grocery shopping there today, dropped $150.00. Hadn't been to this store in years. Didn't notice THE LACK OF CASHIERS AND BAGGERS until I got up front to check out. Only (2) lanes open with a cashier (no visible baggers) with lines down the aisles. Everything else was self-check out! They have a sea of self-checkouts, and they had a long lines behind every one. And, as you scan your items, they go down the conveyor belt, and are stacked up waiting for YOU to bag when you're done. All the while, several young men who clearly work there, are standing around at the front of the store on their cell phones, watching the lines grow and the food stack up waiting to be bagged. You mean, they can't bag, while I'm standing there ringing out $150 worth of food??? Meanwhile, the line behind me grows longer, as the people behind me can't check out, because there's no space bar, to separate the orders. Genius FRYS. Genius. I not only get to spend my hard earned money here, but I am also an unpaid employee scanning and bagging $150 worth of food. Unconscionable! I've recently started shopping at this Fry's as its right across the street from where I work. I mostly come here during the week either before my day starts, or on my lunch hour to grab something to eat. This is definately one of the nicer, larger Frys in the valley. Its huge! They have everything in here that you could possibly need. Deli, bakery, large produce area, booze, meat, and everything else. I personally hang out at the deli a lot, as I love thier paninis and other sandwiches that they make here onsite. I also like this Frys since they have a Bank of America in here, along with a starbucks, which saves me time and trips to get coffee or a stop at the ATM on the way into work. Today I came here to pick up a few things since I was in the area, and had a few extra moments to stop in and shop. This place was packed! I will be back in the future, and will continue to cruise through here on my lunch hour, as the lines go quick and the selection is large! read more

I will never return to this location. As I'm walking out with a cart full of groceries in bags amongst many other people, a female "security guard" named Susie stopped me and asked to see my receipt. I was quite taken aback, but I acquiesced. She stands there and truly studies the receipt like shes reading an engaging novel. She then hands it back to me and says nothing: no apology, no explanation. I asked her why, out of all the other people, she stopped me. She snidely says I walked out through a door that is designated only as an entrance, which would be fine if many other people hadn't also walked out. Every word that spewed out of her mouth was dripping with disdain. There are plenty of better grocery store options in the area. This is my local grocery store. It can easily be a one stop shop except the produce here isn't the freshest ... or at least it wasn't before they remodeled. I've been to the store more times than I can count since they started remodeling but I stopped buying the produce months ago. I'm there for everything else. The cashiers attending to the self check out line are pretty inattentive actually ... it seems to be more of the hang spot for the younger workers. I love the new design of the place. Like a previous reviewer stated, the check out lines can be extremely long at this Frys on 20th street in afternoons and weekends. I prefer to buy ready to eat food at the deli and then go thru the self checkout with less than ten items. Quicker, easier and less frustrating that way. If you want delicious coffee, go to the Quik Trip on 16th and Highland. (Avoid the nasty, overpriced, burned tarsux coffee.) When at Fry's, say hello to Missy. Even on the day before thanksgiving, with the parking lots full, it was very easy to come in and grab the two things I needed, Dash through the self check out and get in and out within 10 minutes. Fry's may be a traditional grocery store, but they carry enough alternative/vegan/healthy items that they're a very viable alternative to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. Prices are competitive if not better than Sprouts for similar or exact same item. In addition, the store is massive. It really can be a one stop shop for those who need a wide variety of household items. That's really something you can't do at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and sprouts. read more

The grocery aisles are stacked on top of each other and not properly marked. The produce, bakery and meats are in construction area with paper/plastic liners separating the work and dust all over the place. The only good thing about this place is the low prices. This is a review of Fry's at 35th Avenue and Peoria. These women that work as cashiers need to be retrained or fired. Particularly Mary and Linda who see nothing wrong with being disrespectful, snide and rude. The management is not much better. I go out of my way to shop at other Fry's locations where the staff is courteous and helpful. This location should be shut down and sold to Safeway/Albertsons. I like Frys but the delivery service is deceptive and worthless. It is not delivery by Frys but by Instacart which is some random person who goes and shops for your items on their own and brings them to you in their own personal car. This is a complete joke. I selected a bunch of items online, of course you don't know if you are really going to get any of these items. Instacart is supposed to tell you what isnt' available but they didn't. they just brought half of the items I selected to my house and put them on the ground, a lot of stuff was not even in bags!! Not knowing the cleanliness of this person I just left the stuff outside for a whole day!! When I logged back into my Fry's account to see what was not available, all of that is gone. I'm a dork from southern California, so when I went to my first Spring Training a couple of weeks ago, I was super excited to check out a Fry's that was a grocery store/drug store instead of a wannabe Best Buy, like it is in my neck of the woods in SoCal. I wasn't super impressed. I'M basing this opinion on their lack of variety when it comes to their selection of flavors when it comes to brands. For example, when it comes to Emergen-C. they only offered their standard orange flavor and not their immune-+ extra strength. Another example of this was their selection of potato chip flavors. I wanted Chili Verde Doritos but I couldn't find those. Checkout at the self checkout was super easy, especially because the store was pretty empty, early in the morning. Then the worker had the presence of mind to inform us that because his coworker called out they closed two hours early today.
