There's a rumor going around that when they're out of decaf, they fill it with... actual coffee. Madness! Which isn't a surprise party, it's just making the already terrible sludge worse and keeping me wired all week. The coffee itself tastes like it was brewed in a boot and left out in the Arizona sun for a week. But hey, I am sure it's the cheapest option in town, so if you're desperate or pinching pennies, it'll do. The most recent broken coffee machine saga? It was out for long enough I started a support group. I'm not even sure if it's fixed, I stopped caring somewhere around day three of the coffee drought and started exploring local coffee & tea shops. Here's the kicker though, Circle Ks are a dime a dozen. Hate this one? Don't worry, you can find another one within a half-mile radius in any direction. It's like a coffee and snack store Hydra. Cut one down, and two more pop up. All that said, a shoutout to the few lovely employees who actually made my mornings bearable. You're the real MVPs. I really like the layout of this store better, it feels more organized and comfortable. They also do a better job keeping their coffee and creamers well stocked, which is a win in my book. This location has a self-checkout, which I appreciate on those days when I'm not in the mood to make friends. Today, the self-checkout machine was down, but the chick was quick to let me know and kindly helped me out, so that was a nice touch. Overall, it's a Circle K, so it's not my favorite spot, but it gets the job done when I need it.

Then there was an issue with the automatic pay system that didn't reset the gas when I paid for it. Then when I came back in, trying to figure out why the gas hadn't reset there was a misunderstanding about the money that I had paid. His response was to get angry, start shouting, and use profanity at me multiple times using words like motherfucker and asshole. Even after we got that settled, he still had problems resetting the gas. This is the second Circle K worker in the last week who has behaved in a way that is extremely unprofessional. Do better Circle K or you won't or at least you shouldn't be in business long.

And this location used to be the shining star and a pristine example for all Circle K's in the valley. Always clean. Always stocked. Not anymore. The bathroom has been broken for who knows how long. I don't drink soda, but there are out of order signs on a lot of fountain drink dispensers. I've been drinking iced tea in the morning. But it is a hit or a miss on whether there is going to be any tea made. If Gary is working, it is almost a guarantee that I'll be able to get my tea, if they have any in stock. If he is not working, then i can bank on the tea containers being empty. All offerings should be available 24/7. I could go in at 5:30 am or 7:30 am and on a day Gary is not there, 70% of the time, no tea is made. I've taken to going and checking the containers before i grab a cup and fill it with ice. Oh and if you play scratchers/lottery, you are an early worker bee and stop by before 6am... good luck wanting to buy or check/claim winning lottery tickets. For some reason, this location does not sell or check before 6am. It's like corporate is letting this one die a slow death. Maybe so they can sell the property cause there's now 2 vacant lots just south of the building.
