I asked them to send their top-notch expert technician, and I was very fortunate that they sent Jason and his excellent assistant (Ricardo) to my home the next day. They carefully removed (and disposed of) my old water heater and did a beautiful job of installing the new one (it was made by A.O. Smith Corporation). The installation job required several hours but it was clearly done properly. During the entire installation process, Jason kept me well informed. I highly recommend Legacy Plumbing for any plumbing or water heater installation needs. This is a very professional company what goes out of its way to provide exceptional customer service. I ended up hiring Leak Geeks, and Spencer got here within about 30 minutes of being dispatched. He did a great job identifying where the leak was coming from. It was a worse case than I had hoped for, but he found it. He cut and capped the line so I could still use the rest of the water in the house while the drywall was being remediated and the eventual repairs could be made. He referred a remediation company, American Water Damage, who had an estimator come out, again within about an hour, provide an estimate, and get a remediation tech to come out to move a basin, cut open the upstairs wall, and place fans and a dehumidifier. I ran upstairs and opened the door to the attic space where the water heaters and one of the hvac systems is located and there it was - water coming out of a small hole in a pipe by one of the water heaters. Water was shooting out horizontally, hitting a wall, and running downward - through the ceiling of my garage. I tried to turn off the water supply to the water heater, but nothing happened. Panic! Anyway, I didn't have a plumber that I liked (I deal with almost all the tradespeople who have to come to our house - poor things - and I decide who will come back). I'd tried about three since we moved here, but none of them screamed 'I want to be your regular plumber'. So I called my regular HVAC company and asked them to recommend someone and they gave me the number for Arty's Plumbing. I called Arty's and explained my problem to the person who answered and guess what? He actually sounded concerned about my emergency and said someone would be there within an hour. In less than an hour, Frank arrived, assessed the problem, turned off the water to the water heaters and to the house and proceeded to repair the leak. From the time I found the puddle in the garage to the time the problem was fixed was less than three hours, and that included Frank having to make a trip for a piece of hardware. AND, the cost was very reasonable (I thought). When he handed me the bill, I couldn't believe it was so low. And Frank was very nice. He also either didn't make a mess or he cleaned up after he was done. Either way, there was no mess for me to deal with. AND after all this, the worst thing we have is a water stain on the garage ceiling. My car (that was just washed that morning for the first time in a couple months) didn't even get dripped on. This unit has an automatic shutoff if water is detected in drain pan. When we have very strong thunderstorms, the paper cover on the sensor will become wet and shut off the water. I called to ask about this problem and they sent 2 plumbers who spent 15 minutes in the attic, told me there was no roof leak and charged me $86. This is after spending a lot of money with them over the years. These folks have gotten too expensive and so I will looking for a new plumber.
