My husband's office is on our second floor on the west side of our home. In Texas's brutal heat, it has been a struggle for him to have a comfortable working temperature without making the rest of the house freezing. After one particularly frustrating day, he contacted Penguin Insulation to discuss the issues that have been going on in our home. Alex at Penguin pulled up our home on Google maps and was able to offer suggested improvements and estimated cost over the phone. Their team was able to come out three days later to place additional insulation in our attic. They also installed two new solar attic fans on our roof (one replaced an existing wind-powered fan, the other was a new addition). We were very impressed with how neat and clean they worked, and the entire team was very professional. The invoice price was as quoted, no surprises, and we have already seen immediate interior results! We appreciate the time they spent to explain what they were going to do, and that the work was done as quoted. Highly recommend! Alex and his team took care of my insulation on a wall and air duct that had been damaged by rat activity. He helped me understand the best way to fix and also prevent similar things from happening in the future such as using closed cell foam which is much denser and harder to chew through. He quoted me a very competitive price, had the best scheduling availability, but most importantly was very responsive on text and helped answer a lot of questions I had. I'm revising my initial 5-star review that was done on Google to accurately reflect my complete experience. While the job was completed, there were several concerning issues: The installation team arrived hours late, citing rain as the reason, though this appears to be a recurring issue based on other reviews. The workers were not uniformed, one had communication barriers, and there was unprofessional behavior like taking smoke breaks during the job. Most importantly, the post-service communication has been very disappointing. Despite multiple requests for job documentation (via text, phone, and email), Alex has been unresponsive. He repeatedly promised to send the paperwork but never followed through. I had to seek help elsewhere and thankfully, Stuart at Koala Insulation of Dallas assisted me in understanding what documentation I needed for tax purposes. While Alex appeared professional initially, his lack of follow-through and poor customer service after receiving payment raises concerns about the overall quality and integrity of the work performed. I cannot recommend a business that abandons customer communication after payment. read more

I was referred to Penguin Insulation by a friend who has used them previously, and I'm so glad I was. Alex came on time, assessed the situation, asked the right questions to determine our needs - didn't upsell for anything extra. I received a quote with a fair price, and his crew was there the next day to complete the work. They arrived on time and completed work within the agreed timeframe, and the final price was just as estimated. Penguin did a wonderful job insulating my attic (which wasn't easy given the tight and small openings) along with the turbine vent installation on my roof. Found someone else to do it for 1/3 of what Penguin quoted and it was done right. It's easy to provide good service when you charge 3x what you should for a job. Alex and his crew did a wonderful job insulating my attic! They were very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable. They were very careful to protect my home and cleaned up everything, although since they were so neat, there wasn't much of a mess to clean up. They found a hole in the ductwork near the air handler and patched it. They took all of my Christmas decorations down and put them back up. If you're looking to upgrade the insulation in your home, look no further - Penguin Insulation is the best in the business! My husband and I have had an insulation refresh high on the list of home projects since we bought our house and finally decided to pull the trigger after receiving a referral from our Realtor. It's certainly an investment, but one we're so glad we made and is sure to pay off for years to come. The insulation in our house was original to construction (1998) and boy was it packed in there! After vacuuming out a 20 foot trailer's worth of insulation, Alex and his team sanitized, completed a seal out between the attic floor and ceiling in our house, and applied spray foam. We could immediately feel the difference in our house temperature and cannot wait to see the impact of our upgrade this summer. Beyond doing a fantastic job from prep work to clean up, Alex and his team went above and beyond what I expected. The previous owners left a TON of stuff up in the attic, which they kindly pulled out and hauled off for us. Alex made sure we did our own independent diligence ahead of the project, too, suggesting that we have our HVAC and roofing teams out to complete their own inspections before project kick off. Alex raised questions for them we hadn't thought about, and we feel so much more comfortable at project completion as a result. We had a couple pop throughs in our ceiling during install, but they were repaired immediately - I'm talking drywall patch, matching texture with paint applied the next day after everything had time to dry. I'm also 6 months pregnant and so appreciative of Alex advising me to stay out of the house during certain stages of the removal and install process.
