In the 10+…read moretext message exchange he never once mentioned a service fee -- which, of course, is a common fee for this line of service, but it's not unheard of to not charge one -- and despite my pinpointing the brand and specific issue (door hinge), he didn't ask for a model number to potentially alert me as to parts availability. Needless to say, he spent 5 minutes looking at the oven and charged the $95 service fee while commenting that the parts were unavailable. I called him out on not disclosing a service charge, and he responded with a sarcastic comment. In my opinion, it's not unreasonable to expect (1) disclosure of the existence of a service charge (and amount) and (2) inquiry as to the model type so as to figure out availability of parts (presumably, this was easily discoverable given that he was here for 5 minutes and made that determination). Would not recommend.
