It is my own opinion that this is one really shady business that walks on the razor thin edge of fraud. I have been studying and researching this group carefully. There is also a watchdog group making monthly payments and watching things very close. I do think this group will be facing some legal litigation and hopefully criminal charges in the future. I will note to the consumer to print and study your documents. Also, monitor your payments monthly and make sure the balance is correct. The website is purposefully vague and confusing so study it close. Be sure to also document your concerns and review with an attorney. Note issues to the better business bureau. Do not be afraid to contact law enforcement, they need to be aware if there is fraud. read more

You CANNOT pay off your lease early. Once you sign that contract you are locked in for X amount of months! I've well overpaid on my account and they won't give me the extra money back and still expect me to pay more money if I want to "payoff" my balance. read more

Aside from having an extremely high rate, working to pay it down quickly is a challenge. We've been making 2 payments a month to try to get out of this loan. You have to call each time before making additional payments or they won't apply it to the principal. You're online accurate is nowhere near accurate. It won't show your balance, doesn't show how your payments have been applied and when we requested documentation of how payments have been applied and for an amortization schedule, they have yet to supply it. Because at this point our balance should be much lower than it is showing on credit reports, but it's a pain to deal with this company! read more

My honest opinion about FTL finance. Let me say I've paid them on time for the last 3 years. Recently I requested a payoff letter due to buying a new home & someone by the name of Laura will not call the corporate office and verify this information, Although I sent her a copy of the check, my children and I are stuck in sleezy hotels and the closing on my home have been pushed back because of this simple information. We have been ignored as well as disrespected, so thanks to FTL, my family and I cannot move into our home. read more

This company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. We financed central air through them almost 3 years ago - and it has been the most complicated bill we've ever dealt with. We try to make our payments and their online system is complete trash and never lets us in. We wait for a statement or bill in the mail, they've never sent one. We have no clue what we even owe because we can't get in to their online system no matter what we try, they never send us any mail or documents with balances. And an fyi, if you do fall behind because of their system... they will call your job. Stay far away from FTL. read more

Absolutely awful. Was told the finance charge would be 9.9% when it came back it was 18.99% and both of us have over 700 credit scores. Called them and tried to work with them and they would not budge. I would not ever recommend them. This finance company will not finance people who have less than stellar credit. They promise that they review in house and that they look at more than just your credit score. That is a lie, they only do a hard pull and then reject your application if there is anything that is less than total perfection. They only treat you like a number, yet proclaim they "personally review each application". It was probably a good thing that I pay cash for any HVAC work since this company embraces the deceptive "No prepayment penalty" marketing strategy, but they do pre-computed interest and large origination fees. FTL Finance is about the worst company I have dealt with. I paid off a loan online it showed what the balance was and here it is a whole year later and they sending me a letter telling me that I have a past due amount of nine hundred and something dollars as of today. They did not take off any of the interest when I made a one lump payment they are still charging me for that interest. I called them today and the explanation that I was given makes no sense. And on top of that they deleted my account where I could not get online to look at anyting. So now I'm stuck paying another $900 to these people which is just unbelievable never ever do any business with this company they do not Bend for you at all. I advise you if you do use them do not make any large amount of payment cuz it's still going to charge you the interest. read more

I get it, people like the financing. But the law still applies. they paid over $10,000 to a company I did not have a contract with and who has refused to issue the contract mandated by law. It has been proven to them they paid him before the job was done. My city has verified he claimed the job was done to get a rebate, when it was not. He did not have a permit and requested one some 6 months after the fact. he then refused to ask for an inspection of his work. The contract is not complete until the city clears the work. Well the city finally agreed the documents filed with our utility company and the retroactive permit i was told never should have been issued today sent out inspectors. There are potentially $1000 of dollars in code violations. The biggest is he improperly installed drainage system. The city is with me and this company simply copies and pastes his lies and sends them to me. i am judgment proof so they will never see another penny from me. If you call corporate you cannot get past the adjuster lying at every turn. It is not about that they gave you credit, it is about how they handle you when you have a problem. read more

Caution! This organization is not customer service oriented, even to customers who have an excellent credit history with their organization! My monthly payment had been set up as an automatic payment with FTL for over a year through my bank. My payment had never been late previously, but this past month I received a collection letter from FTL due to non-receipt of payment. I confirmed that my bank had sent the payment in a timely manner, but according to FTL, it can take up to 10 days for them to receive such payment. I said that I would immediately move up my payment date in order to avoid any possible late payment in the future. I was then pressured by the representative to move to a direct payment through FTL automatic payments and to provide my information on their website. I confirmed payment and then asked that they waive the $10 late fee (so that I would not need to alter my monthly automatic payment amount). I was told that she would need to ask management, but that it was unlikely they would agree unless I moved to their automatic payment system. I said I would be happy to talk to the manager myself, as I have never had a late payment with them previously. The agent then transferred me to Duane Tolen. I then reiterated my request to Mr. Tolen. He stated that the only way they would waive the late fee was if I provided my information to them for an automatic payment to be processed by them. I explained that in this day in age of breaches of cyber security, I was uncomfortable with providing my information to entities if it was unnecessary and I preferred to continue to use the automated system through my bank. He said that "No, he would not waive the fee" and that was "HIS policy". I then inquired if it was a company policy...given his emphasis on the "his". He said "No" that it wasn't. and once again reiterated that it was "His" policy. I asked (politely) if he was the owner of the company. He said "No, but I report to the President". At that point, I used the technology on my phone system to record the call in case future reference was necessary. The nature of my complaint is that I believe it is unreasonable not to waive a late fee when the payment was made in a timely manner and I have proof that the payment was made in a timely manner. The delay in receipt was through no fault of my own and they cannot prove that the delay in processing wasn't on their end. Additionally, I was dismayed by the lack of customer care provided by this organization. There was absolutely no remorse or concern for the fact that they were charging a fee and trying to force me into using their automated payment system. I was also dismayed that someone would tell me outright that it was "his" policy to not waive the fee and not a company policy. read more

I really don't know much about this company, but my furnace was financed through them by the company that installed it, but now they've gone out of business. I called to find out my balance but was told they would call me back without asking me for my name. I don't know, maybe they have caller ID but still, no kind of verification? I'm not expecting a call back after reading these reviews. read more

Approval and payments were easy enough. We paid the loan off 3 months early. We paid the loan off in March 2019. They STILL have not reported the loan as paid in full and closed. It still shows a balance of $102, not true. I have called and talked with May in Customer Service a few different times, each time her stating she will get this reported as paid and closed. Hell, I even disputed it with TransUnion. Just logged into my account on Credit Karma, what shows up as open with a $102 balance? Yep, this shithole! Stay away from this place at all costs if you can. More headaches than its worth... read more
