Mocha & hazelnut chip. Boyfriend got labne quince & I believe coconut passionfruit
    Katy L.

Was in the area for apple picking & wanted to try a local ice cream spot. Upon searching a bit, Fortunes seemed to come highly recommended so off we went. I'm quite pleased that the hours go until 10 pm because the people need post dinner ice cream!! Unfortunately despite reviews saying the ice cream is generally pricey, the prices are not readily available. I was so excited to eat the ice cream that I also forgot to take a picture of the menu board with the price From what I remember a small cup was around $5, medium cup is $7 ish and large cup is either $8-9. I asked how many scoops each cup can get and I think you can get two scoops per cup (maybe more for the large? I'm blanking). There are of course come options as well as toppings. Their flavors change pretty regularly it seems and there was a slim fridge on the side of the store with pints of flavors that were not featured in the display case (I didn't look too closely). There were some interesting flavors like labneh quince and kiwiberry but I'm basic and I got a medium cup of mocha and hazelnut chip. The staff was friendly & let me sample my target flavors before I bought. I took a lick of the labneh quince flavor he got & it's definitely an interesting tangy yogurt y flavor & both bf & my friend enjoyed the passionfruit flavor they got. The mocha ice cream is strong & hits you with a punch of coffee flavor. The hazelnut chip is deliciously sweet and flavorful & reminded me of like a Nutella-y praline flavor with the chips providing a fun crunch. The hazelnut chip flavor was my favorite! I love pistachio gelato (legit one from Italy) so I was curious & asked if they offered pistachio ice cream. They offer both a pistachio as well as a rosewater saffron pistachio flavor at other times. Seeing how good the hazelnut chip & mocha flavors were, I have high hopes their pistachio would be good too. The medium cup was a pretty fair amount of ice cream so while it's on the pricy side, I think it's a great ice cream option in the area. There's some cozy interior seating with a handful of tables. I rec it for ice cream and a wonderful post dinner dessert spot. Looking forward to what other creative flavors they have!

The first thing everyone noticed is the cute little building that housesfortunes ice cream. It is located right on the main road. Parking can be tough, but I usually find a spot down one of the side streets. Nice selection of ice creams with seasonal flavors. I believe most of the ingredients are local. The ice cream is delicious. On a very hot day, they could do a slightly better job of keeping it firmer. The service is pretty good. Looks like it's run by a bunch of students, which is fine, but I have seen them get overwhelmed when it's busy. And it's almost always busy. Fantastic spot to grab a cone or a cup or some to-go ice cream after dinner or when passing through the area. I would recommend it.

10/10 experience. Had the rocky road on top of a brownie and it was killer. The space is adorable, the staff is ready to answer questions and serve up some samples, and the ice cream is great. All fresh ingredients, you can really taste the quality.

Really amazing. Both the chocolate and dark chocolate are among the best I can remember having anywhere. My wife also really loved the peanut butter swirl and the coffee chip. We loved this so much we came three straight nights, and I think it's well worth the visit even if we weren't staying in Tivoli.

Amazing specialty ice cream shop! Have driven 40+ minutes just to get this ice cream. They are always changing flavors so get what you like while you can. The service is very nice and has lots of seating. Usually there is a line but it moves very quickly and they always let you taste some flavors before you have to choose. We had the peanut butter and jelly Sundae with mint chip and halva honeycomb, rosewater saffron pistachio, earl gray lavender shortbread and labne sour Cherry. All were so good! We'll definitely be back soon!

best ice cream I've ever had. all of the flavors are on point. Every time I'm in the area I always make a stop here. Some of my favorite flavors are Halva honeycomb, early grey lavender shortbread, and golden milk. Keep in mind their flavors rotate every week so check their instagram @fortunesicecream for their current flavors. The staff is always super friendly and let you sample the flavors. The ambiance is also really nice with some indoor and outdoor seating options.

There used to be numerous German restaurants in NYC and throughout upstate NY, but over the years those numbers have dwindled substantially to a handful.  A relatively new addition to the local Hudson Valley dining scene Jaeger Haus was started in 2018 (in a 70 year old restaurant building) and serves up seriously tasty and authentic tasting German beer, wine, and food.  We've dined there a few times over the last two years of visiting this year--the mood is relaxed, the beer is delicious, and food remind us of our travels to Germany and Austria.  The menu is tight and by that I mean it's focused on what they do well--which is traditional German food. While I wish they might add a few classic German appetizers to their menu for variety, their range of entrees provides ample choice and I am slowly making my way through those selections. Lola, one of our servers for the evening, quickly took our drink orders.  I ordered a mug of Hofbrau Original Lager (on tap) and after being given a tasting, my wife ordered a pint of Hofbrau Weissbier (which is similar to the sort of wheat beer she occasionally enjoys).  So refreshing.  A basket of house-made thinly sliced Roggenbrot (rye bread) arrived soon after our drinks with softened butter, lightly sprinkled with sea salt. We passed on the appetizers, knowing that our entrees would be substantial.  My wife ordered the Wienershcnitzel which comes with braised red cabbage and house-made spaetzle lightly sauced with a cream gravy.  These are classic sides which one can find served in restaurants from Vienna or Munich to Heidelberg or Berlin.  I ordered exactly the same thing (having tried other dishes on our prior visits), except I ordered my Wienerschnitzel "a la Holstein" (with a fried local farm egg).  The egg, especially the large yolk, provides an added level of lusciousness to the crispy veal.   Our meals arrived in due course.  They were gorgeous to look at and ate even better than they looked.  The spaetzles were soft and fluffy, the red cabbage was rich and well spiced, and the veal . . . the veal was heavenly.  Crisp on the outside, fork tender on the inside, dipping into a bit of the egg yolk (in my case); goodness what a delightful taste sensation. Just delicious.  We both earned "clean plate" certificates tonight--suitable for framing--felt satiated, but not overly full (which is where we like to end a meal).  We nursed our beers a bit longer, sharing memories from this special day, paid our bill (the bill encouraged customers to tip in cash, which we did), thanked the staff, bid the co-owner "danke schön und Wiedersehen" and we were on our way.

Barbacoa taco was really tasty. Good meat. Good accoutrements decent size for the price. If I could do it over I would get crispy shell. I felt the online menu posted on the website does not really show all the shell choices. Steak quesadilla was fairly priced which is why I got it. I liked the fillings even though I thought it was a little small. Should I be forced to come back id get the kids chicken tacos. The chicken was really tasty and loaded full. I didn't try but the enchilada people loved their enchiladas. Good use of vegetables inside. I liked the texture of the flan. It's a little tricky to get right so I can respect. Honestly I like my flan on the firmer side which it was. Margaritas are really strong. I get why they do half pitchers because full ones would definitely be finishers. Ingredients are fresh but honestly a little underwhelming. Overall the meal was decent enough but way overpriced. Possibly could be a case of it being 2025 though.

Even though it is a classy setting with views of the dam in the outdoor seating area, they are also very family friendly. They have a kids menu and their drinks came with cute plastic cartoon straw cups. The $17 option comes with ice cream for the kids too. This place could have easily gotten 5 stars if the food wasn't all overly salty (even my kids didn't even eat their fries). It's a pity because everything was plated so beautifully. Their octopus appetizer was not fresh and their ahi tuna was overcooked. When our waiter took our order he didn't ask what our kids wanted to drink even though a drink came with the kids, and we were charged $4 for each when we ordered them drinks. They quickly corrected it when we pointed it out but we also had to remind them about the kids' ice cream (which they mixed up the kids' order too). They did waive the cake cutting fee as we had a party of 10. The only dish that was enjoyable was their roast chicken with black rice. Nevertheless, it is still a nice place to visit if you want a place to relax with a beautiful atmosphere and welcoming to families. The staff were all very friendly and kind.

I thought, wow what a great deal! It gets you in the door. Cons: Food. The meal fell short. Management didn't train staff on menu details, not blaming the server but if I ask details like the brand of ice cream or about the coffee I'd hope they knew where things were sourced from. (This is coming from someone who was a server and had to know these details, so don't come for me!) We ordered the charcuterie board which was pretty good. Then it kinda went downhill. My vegetable lasagna was...strange. Some bites were good, then after a while I thought...is this even pasta? The dough was thick like baked pizza bread with chunks of vegetables loaded in layers. Was it homemade pasta? If so, it was awful. The sauce for the crispy salsa verde half chicken was too vinegar-y. The black bean salsa was black beans with mashed avocado? Like a guacamole sauce? Big sigh. Next, dessert--even though the server recommended the peachy empanadas we chose the ice cream sandwich flight. It arrived, 3 ugly little sandwiches. I thought, maybe it'll taste deliciously homemade! Hopeful, I took a bite of the middle one and gagged. I said, maybe it's not my flavor. Next sandwich. Took a bite, discreetly spat it out. The server apologized profusely when we told her it was no good--I did feel bad. She didn't make it, not her fault. So she offered us something else. We chose her recommendation--the peachy empanadas. Oh boy! Listen...Peaches are in season, why are the peaches in this empanada crunchy??? The empanada dough was crispy outside and raw and doughy inside. When you bite it it stretches. The ice cream was great though. Tasted like vanilla haagen-dazs. I asked, is this haagen-dazs? She wasn't sure. Ayiyay, this is a note for management. Anyway, empanadas were also a bust. I was ready to leave so we paid and left. The chef and pastry chef attended CIA, I had high hopes for this beautiful restaurant. If I ever come back it will be for a cocktail and the view. Maybe brunch. Maybe not. Also--Someone mentioned Miss Lucy's does a better job. I went to both of these establishments and agree.
