    Shrimp Ceviche
    Antonio D. M.

Made it to Fuego Prime in Lodi last Sinday. Good weather that day and almost sat in the patio but we settled in the smaller dining room inside to check the Olympic closing ceremony. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered a Mexican Coke and the award winning quesabirria tacos with that hot consume for dippin' and slurpin.' We also ordered the fish tacos, the shrimp ceviche, rice & beans onda side and the cheesed up jalapeños. Those cheese jalapeños were FUEGO!!That melted cheese encased a fresh, HOT , crunchy chili that had me almost tearing' up. Some were mild but some had that scolville scale turned all the way up. Don't be scared. Order them any and shed those tears proudly. @fuego_209 @downtownlodi

Yes, their carne asada quesadilla is delicious. I have it sent by DoorDash and it is enough for 2 days.

Stopped by this Mexican food spot and ordered the papa rellena with al pastor meat and two tacos to go. One of my tacos was missing, which was a little disappointing considering there wwas nobody else in the restaurant so it's not like they were busy. Partly my fault as I should have checked my order before leaving. The service was friendly and attentive, and there was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with even bar seating. The food looked great and tasted good -- not amazing, but definitely satisfying. They did offer either green or red salsa, which I chose green and was mild. I do wish they had more variety. Also it did not seem like they have a salsa bar which would be nice. I wish they allowed you to order two different meats on the papa rellena but we were told that was not possible. Portion size of the papa rellena was decent, enough to share between 2 people. Overall, a decent experience with room for improvement.

    Lamb chops

My husband and I love Fuego Prime Restaurant!!! The food is prepared beautifully, the flavors are all there. My husband really enjoyed the perfectly grilled lamb chops. My favorite was the ribeye steak tacos, it was perfection, the meat was tender and the homemade corn tortillas were delicious. the Birria is also very good. I tend to gravitate to Mexican restaurants with the best homemade corn and/or flour tortillas. I always felt they have the best food if they take the time to make homemade tortillas, They could have gone to any store, to me, it says a lot. The wait staff was so kind, happy and so great at what the do, making it a fun experience. We purchased some coupons for Fuego Prime around Christmas, gave some as gifts. We were hooked after our first visit, we have been two times since in the last couple months! Nothing changed, all was perfect. Prices are very reasonable, we will be back. We also want to go in the evening so we can sit outside under the lights. They serve breakfast on weekends only, that's our next visit! Plus it feels good to support a small business! So great food, service and ambience.

    Chicken enchiladas

Went for restaurant week today (Sunday late lunch). I was going to say everything failed except ingredient quality, but as I write this I just bit into a big piece of chicken gristle. I had enjoyed the Fuego truck in the past but have not been back there since having an unsafe experience being harassed in the parking lot. I ordered the Lodi restaurant week special. Chicken enchiladas with a horchata and churro donut. There was NO DESSERT I was so disappointed when I brought it home and so were the others who ordered specials. No mention of this or substitutions made. That's a main reason I went. The other main reason was I wanted a good enchilada. The enchilada itself didn't feel like an enchilada, but basic chicken tacos. I can barely tell if there's cheese and if there is, it's a tiny amount. The red sauce was also minimal, dry on top. An enchilada should be DRENCHED and CHEESY. These look nothing like others' reviews. This was like a rolled up corn tortilla other chopped chicken. The lettuce and tomato additions felt strange. The rice and beans are acceptable. The horchata was pretty good but aside from that I'm really disappointed. Lodi/Stockton has a lot of Mexican options with better quality and lower prices, they'll need to step up their game if they want to stick around. Seeing other restaurant week reviews I'm thinking this is an employee/service problem.

My water...because I was never able to place a 2nd drink order
    Alex L.

Came here recently for a family birthday dinner. We were put outside, temperature was 42 degrees...they did have heaters outside, but half of them were out of propane so didn't work. It was COLD...and my mom, being a little older, was having a hard time with the cold. Food took forever to arrive, and arrived in different sections, so we were eating while some people were already done eating. Drinks took forever, and I couldn't even order a second because they never came back to ask me for a second drink. Ended up just drinking water . Service was horrible, and I don't blame the server because she did apologize for everything, we understand it's out of her control. I blame the manager and whoever is in charge, you KNEW we were coming and didn't staff correctly. I ordered cheese enchiladas, got meat. My wife ordered flautas with no sauce, just on the side. The flautas were smothered in it, and she had to scrape it off. It was too spicy for her, so an inconvenience. But we weren't the only ones, and because the food took so long we didn't want to send it back. But there were multiple orders sent back, I don't understand why the orders were so messed up. Overall, will not come back. Again, don't blame the server, but overall management. Don't recommend.

    Asada and pastor super burritos
    Jake M.

Went in to pickup a pastor super burrito and an asada super. Staff service was just ok. They all seemed overwhelmed. Took like ten minutes to pay for my food because there was only one person capable of ringing me up and they had to make a bar drink. Was worth it tho. I'd recommend the super burritos. Very flavorful and correctly made. Lots of meat and proportional ingredients. Tortilla seemed homemade. Was excellent. I asked if there was hot sauce in my bag, the chick asked the chef if there was and he said yes. There was no hot sauce when I got home lol. Place is very small and every table had people seated. They need maybe one more person working. I saw ice cream the chef put out sit for like 7 min and it never got ran to a table lol. I'll be back tho. For pickup only. I recommend the pastor and the asada.

fuego was fuego for sureeee as you can tell we downed the micheladas because they were delish and we started to dig in before taking a pic. the ceviche was the al pastor and asada tacos were packed with flavor and loaded with meat! the ceviche was so fresh and the perfect meal on a hot day. already planning our next visit as we speak.

Came here for there quesabirria tacos and let me tell you they were so greasy I couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart I was highly upset. Asked for asada fries instead and they came out with asada nachos asked for them to just take it off my check my girlfriend was already finished with her burrito and they bring out fries just miscommunication. I give the fries a 4/5 great flavor Menu had minimum option's My girlfriend had the pastor burrito She gave it a 2/5 no flavor. Drink menu is bigger than food menu. Service was good very understanding

Decided to give Fuego Prime a try. Went on a Friday around 5:00. Greeted right away by a friendly employee and told we could sit anywhere. Restaurant is very small inside but has many tables outside in a gated courtyard. We ordered 4 different tacos, chicken enchiladas dinner and fresh made flour tortillas. After about 10 minutes the waitress comes back and tells us they are all out of chicken enchiladas. We decide not to add anything additional and will just try the tacos. Takes another 15 minutes for our taco to arrive. When I ask about my flour tortillas she goes to the back and returns telling me they are all out. As far as the tacos go, the homemade corn tortillas are spot on. Some of the best I've had. Taco filling was just average. We had chicken, asada, shrimp and Al pastor. Would be nice if they offered carnitas. Many taco trucks in town serve better. Training going on throughout visit on dining floor. Could be better served to do training outside of dinner time as it took away from dining experience. Not confident in a Mexican restaurant that runs out of enchiladas and tortillas on a Friday night. I would recommend you give them some time to get adjusted before trying. Not sure if I will go back.

    Tacos al carbón
    Janet R.

Came in on Saturday night and had a great experience. We ordered the tacos al carbón and margarita flight and both were excellent. Service was quick and our server checked on us often. The manager even stopped by the table. Fun atmosphere and we'll definitely be back.

For just opening up this place is pretty good . It's a little on the small side so you most likely will have to sit outside . The service was fantastic , they were on top of everything and very nice . I will say though the outside is a bit deceiving, it doesn't look the nicest on the outside but don't let that stop you from trying it .

Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

Out of this world. The breading was thin and crispy, and the dipping sauce was yummy. We had the catch of the day. It came with risotto that was perfectly seasoned and cheesy. We made a brunch reservation for 11:30am, though we ended up ordering off the regular menu rather than brunch. That was the first odd note of the afternoon. Before the appetizers, they brought out focaccia with herbed butter, a nice alternative to the standard bread basket. The calamari appetizer with marinara and tartar sauce was fine, nothing memorable. My mom's eggplant parmesan arrived warm but not hot and cooled down quickly. The pizzas, a Funghi and a Margherita, were cooked well in the stone oven and were genuinely the best thing on the table, but they arrived warm and cooled down quickly, the same issue as my mom's eggplant parmesan. With the air conditioning blowing directly overhead, hot food didn't really stand a chance. The service is where things unraveled. When we were first seated, the manager came by and helped with my dad's walker, which was a nice touch. After that it went downhill. When my dad asked for something light, the waiter recommended the carbonara, a dish built on guanciale, grana, egg, and black pepper. That's not light by any definition. It's a basic gap in menu knowledge that does the guest a disservice. The menu also had salmon, ricotta toast, and eggs in purgatory. My dad also asked for red pepper flakes to go with his pizza and they took unusually long to arrive, so he had to flag down a different waiter to get them. The waiter noticed I was drinking my Bloody Mary slowly and offered a different version that actually tasted better. If there's a preferred version, lead with it. When I made eye contact to signal we were ready to pay, he acknowledged it but continued socializing with a coworker before finally coming over and taking my card, as if he was surprised we wanted to pay. When a customer is ready, they're ready. He took my card, asked if we wanted dessert, went to grab the dessert menu, then handed it back. Just hold onto the card. I'm paying with the same card regardless. Handing it back makes no sense. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, with a full bar, outdoor seating, a small store at the entrance, and a vegetable garden out front. It's a great setting. Dinner service might be a different experience, but on this visit the dining room wasn't particularly full, which made it more noticeable that the staff prioritized socializing over the guests in front of them. For the record, the suggested tip on the receipt started at 18%. On the way out, two hostesses stood by and did nothing while my parents, one of whom was on a walker, made their way to the door on their own. Getting the door is common courtesy for the elderly. Pietro's has the ingredients of a great restaurant. The space is beautiful, the stone oven pizza is genuinely good, and the brunch menu has real potential. But a restaurant is only as good as its execution, and right now the service and the food temperatures are letting the kitchen down. They just need to meet it.

We sat inside, where the space features exposed brick, artwork throughout, and very comfortable seating... my partner specifically pointed that out. The layout includes a mix of seating areas, which gives it a more relaxed, layered feel. The bar area, known as the Ghost Lounge, adds a darker, more lounge-like element to the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.

My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! It's contemporary and the furnishings are quite comfortable. It's the type of place you can settle in and have a casual meal without feeling rushed. Prices are high yet the quality is excellent. For the first evening at the bar we settled into a high top table. You can sit at the bar, lounge type seating or outdoors on a pleasantly shaded patio. They had an expanded bar bites menu as the main restaurant is closed on Wednesdays... most of it quite enticing. We opted for cocktails to start and I chose a specialty Date Maple Old Fashioned. It was really good with a large ice ball to chill it. For bar bites we shared the pork belly sandwiches (small, delicious but messy to eat), the sausage skewers (amazing!) and crab cups (refreshingly light and easy to eat). After cocktails we had glasses of a light white wine, made with Santorini Greek grapes. For the next meal in the dining room the place was a buzz with activity but conversation was easy without a lot of excessive noise. It's intimate and the room is quite pleasant for a gourmet meal. We started with cocktails (same Old Fashioned) and shared the grilled Brussels Sprouts which were plentiful and ever so delicious. They were slightly over grilled for my taste yet it didn't distract from me enjoying them. We got bread which was a baguette with butter and the consistency perfect for a French style loaf. For my entree I debated between the scallops and the pork chop and went with the chop. I was quite pleased as the chop came in thick slices and drizzled with a tarragon mustard reduction sauce. It was amazing, tender, juicy and at 22oz I couldn't finish it all. It came with a tasty apple sauce and grilled seared cabbage. Absolutely delicious. Ed, celebrating a birthday, had steak which came with a huge bowl of mashed potatoes which I tasted. Oh my gosh, the creamiest potatoes ever! For dessert we shared the cheese plate, a really great way to end the meal, with glasses of a twany port. All of the cheeses from a brie to a hard cheese were top quality. Service both times was very attentive, professional yet personable. We were well cared for and everything went smoothly. It's expensive yet the experience and value is worth visiting. Make a reservation.

The food was ok, its was good , it was very expensive, I think I expected more from the flavors. We started with lemonade, it was delicious! The bread was ok , really hard crust with a soft inside, I would have appreciated some oil and vinegar for the bread. For an appetizer we ordered an octopus salad , the octopus was good, not over the top . We also ordered a dozen oysters they were underwhelming, not sure what was on them but I asked for nothing on them . The greens were slightly wilting, it was ok . I ordered the bay scallops they were good , the purée that came with it was ok. We also ordered the smashed potatoes, they were underwhelming but ok . My Neice ordered a salad and it seemed just ok , she liked it , not super crisp. She also ordered fries , they were good . Over all our experience was just ok , it must be a status thing when you say you went to the Americana House , it was just ok and at 125.00 per person we expected higher quality. The horseradish was outstanding. The ambience was a great experience, not sure I would recommend here , the quality does not match the price . Desert was good , coffee was good

For starters we had an order oysters and an order of bone marrow. They both tasted as expected-delicious. The oysters were not dry or undercooked. Just perfect. For our entrees our group had the skirt steak which comes with mash potatoes and green beans. The meat was great quality and the beans were cooked al dente. We also tried the chicken Parmesan--big portion accompanied by marinara sauce. Another great choice was the wine braised short ribs: very tender and plentiful atop mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Real tasty, I had to steal a corner from my wife . We had a great experience. Our server was attentive and helpful. I would definitely go back for more. Happy bites !

The Lodi location is great because you can grab a bite to eat, then do some walking to the cute boutiques or vintage stores afterwards. I ordered the Runaway Bride cocktail. I loved the whole aesthetic of the drink alone but the taste was superb. I'll have to order that again. Their Griddled Cornbread is very good. I ordered their Wood Oven Roasted Mary's 1/2 Chicken. Chicken was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed it. I'll be honest, I like the ambiance at the Stockton location better but overall it was a good experience. Our waiter was great!

What a sweet find in Lodi! Never really came out here but met up with some friends for lunch…read more I got the chilaquiles and they were so good! Flavorful, tortillas were crunchy, customer service was nice and place was clean. I'm usually not huge on potatoes but these were so gooood! Salty, flavorful, seasoned so well! The chorizo and eggs were on the bottom more than the top so by the time I was done I had a bunch left over. My friends got the biscuits & gravy. The portions are huge & they're saucy! Had a chance to try it and I usually don't get biscuits but felt they were pretty dry without the gravy. But even with the gravy more on the dry side. But would recommend checking them out!

The staff was friendly and was able to find us a seat either inside or outside. We elected to sit outside because the music inside was slightly a little too loud. The staff understood and we got to sit on the patio under the umbrellas for shade. I ordered the BBLT; Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich, with the homemade potato salad. I'm always nervous when ordering a BLT somewhere as some places hardly give much bacon on their sandwich. Not this place however, they loaded my sandwich up with bacon and it was amazing. The potato salad was light, not over salty, or sweet. Just right, where you could season it up however your tastebuds like. We enjoyed our brunch outing and will be back next time in the area.
