My husband went here today 10/12/23 for lunch to get a bowl, asada fries and a burrito. My son ordered the burrito. Half way eating it he stumbles upon a rock!! When he said pebble, I thought a super small PEBBLE. But this was a rock, very lightweight rock but still a rock. Thankfully none of his teeth broke but that was a huge possibility. He was left with a bad taste in mouth and didn't want to finish it. I'm so disappointed. We haven't been here in a couple years.. to come back to this. A big shame! Found this place off Instagram today ... thought I'd try it since it is taco Tuesday and all. On Instagram it says $ tacos for taco Tuesday but when you get to the window to order there $1.65, saying prices went up for the new year. That's understandable , but the post on social media was earlier on the same day I went. Please have prices on social media match prices at locations. Ordered food at the window , paid and got my ticket with a number on it, waited at one of the tables in the courtyard. I noticed the chef or cook go to his car with a bag and then come back and go straight to the grill.... No hand washing or gloves unfortunately. Sadly it is Covid times: hand washing is important . I guess most people don't know that you can select the restaurant, but this is for the food truck. Anyways. Food here is very good. Went with the wife and we split some tacos - pastor and asada and quesadilla (a giant quesadilla) with steak. Everything was good. Some may view it as an issue, as I have seen in some review, but i do not - they cook your food to order so it can take a minute. People who work there are polite enough. The place is clean and the food is good. Not much more you can ask for from a food truck. They do have tables and umbrellas which is nice, so it is fancy food truck. Not knowing the drink situation, we brought our own, but they have drinks and water. I would be curious if you could bring beer for dinner. We did three tacos and a quesadilla and it was to much food. Look forward to returning. read more

Went there for the first time in a while. The guy looked pissed off that I was there. I was the only person there on a Saturday night. Shoulda left... Kids used to love the Fuego fries. The guy overcharged for the food. It was $29.53 for a chicken burrito and the fries. I got a burrito full of rice with a few chunks of dry chicken. The fries we terrible. Half sized and soggy. I drive by this place every day on my way to work and back home I finally decided to give it a shot I was craving a burrito so I stopped by and ask for an asada burrito I was hungry and decided to eat the burrito in my car with the AC full blast I tried taking a bite and I could not chew through the Damm tortilla I was sitting inside my car it was kind of dark I thought I was maybe biting on a piece of wrapping paper or something that turn on the light to my surprise it was the tortilla so I thought no big deal I just ripped off that hard piece of the tortilla then decided to take another bite and boom the same damn thing hard tortilla I was starving so I just ended up eating the insides of it with no tortilla overall I give this place a one star because the asada meat was good I probably will never come back read more

If I could I wouldn't even give 1 star. Let me start off by saying it's way over priced for what you get. The tacos were super small with hardly any meat for $2.50. The tortillas were stale. I ordered chips and salsa and it wasn't even corn chips. It was flower tortillas that they cut up and fried. Who does that? Stopped by about a month ago to see what the taco hype was about. Food was amazing at Fuegos 5 stars; however my overall experience was a 2.5 stars. It was a super cold evening when we stopped by for dinner and we bought tons of food. I have 2 growing sons who are always starving so this place fulfilled their food cravings. For my dinner I ordered 2 carne asada sopes and 3 tacos... Enough to have me wanting to come back for more. What brought my ratings this low is because my 10yr old son was shaking even w his jacket, gloves and a beanie on he was super cold so, my husband asked the older woman at the window if they could turn their outdoor heater on and she said she would.... 15min later... 30min later... 35min later... 45min later and finally leaving at 55min later... They never turned the heat on for my freezing 10yr old... Note: when we were there they weren't even that busy at the time so I'm not sure why they didn't turn it on... I would like to visit again for their lovely food but not to eat at their outdoor tables to freeze... Maybe in the summer time we can swing by and dine in... But not soon. It's too bad... This maybe the best carne asada fries in town. Hope the owners take this into consideration and not as a negative review. If you have outdoor seating then you have to accommodate to your customers as the weather has been pretty cold this winter in Bakersfield. read more

I've been following them on Instagram for a while now . Their food looks delicious , and I finally was in the area to test their "best al pastor in town claim". The spot is pretty easy to miss , especially at night but we found it thanks to all of the cars pulling in and out. There were quite a few people there so I wish the parking was bigger to better accommodate everyone. There's plenty of outdoor seating and the best part is that they have heat lamps! So even if you go at night you are nice and toasty. I loved their sign on their window stating that it is Fresh food, not fast food . Everything is made to order, And they still manage to crank everything out in a timely fashion. I ordered the Fuego fries , al pastor style. (7$) The fries were nice and crispy, the pork was very tender and had a great flavor to it. I do wish there was more pico de gallo and other toppings on there , the potato and meat to the pico and cream ratio was off so after the first few bites I was only eating fries and meat (which don't get me wrong is still great ) since I was taking it to go , I asked for 2 salsas , the red and the Fuego. I didn't realize until later that there was only one in there , I'm unsure as to which it was but I hope it wasn't Fuego because it wasn't spicy, although it still had a great flavor. When I'm ariund rosedale I'll definitely come back , but I will eat there so that I can add more pico de gallo . As for the claim to the best al pastor in town , I'm saving that honor for Huicos on 18th . read more

I'm a fan of Fuego's. Plan accordingly as noon time the place is packed. This is a food truck and seating is limited to outside picnic style tables. The ambiance is nice and not your typical food truck in a parking lot sitting on an asphalt floor. I found that the carne asada is flavorful and the seasoning can actually be tasted. Their salsa are great and the warning of the heat level is spot on. The fuego sauce is "HOT" and not for the weak. Not overpowering heat but definitely will get the average heat seeker a thumbs up. Asada fries are also a big hit. Like meat nachos with fries instead of tortilla chips. Looking forward to trying their new restaurant coming soon. read more

In college La Villa was my spot. Then Los Tacos because it was closer to work. Finally...hello yummy tacos to Rosedale! And the Fuego fries were amazing. It looks small (probanly because we went at night) but it filled me up and my sister ate half of it too. Its a very small menu and does not have much of a beverage selection. You may miss this place cruzing thru Rosedale. It is tucked between Rosedale Middle and Allen Rd. It is a little taco truck with its own parking lot. At night you can see it with its Christmas lights. The staff is totally awesome. Great customer service! They turned on the outdoor heaters for us! There was quite a bit of people this evening too. Okay I have been back to this stand on multiple occasions. For one it's right by my house and the second reason is Vatos Tacos is way too hot for my wife's taste buds. I think I have been back to this spot more times than the old cooks have now and things have changed a bunch. I don't know what happened to this place but I can remedy it with a few keys tips and tricks. I always get the scuba fries. It is a delicious helping of perfectly fried french fries (they used to use the smaller french fries which allowed the dish to come together a little better. Almost like a McDonald's frie and now it's more like a Carl's Jr frie and nobody likes their fries), with your choose of a double helping of their meats, then topped with their cilantro lime sauce, a crema sauce, cilantro, I believe cotija cheese and grilled onions (they used the actually slice the onion correctly, to where it wasn't a huge piece of onion and it was actually grilled to an almost chard perfection). Moving on to my helpful tips: Tip #1 cut the onions thin. Not razor thin but not huge chunks of onion. Nobody wants a 1/4 of on onion which you can't even grill quick enough to make an order fast enough for this type of business. If you would cut the onions very thin and correctly before you open up it would allow the onion to char adequately before your meat is cooked. Tip #2 add a little extra cilantro lime sauce. The old cook used to douse the fries in that sauce. This allows the entire dish to be flavorful, not just the top. Tip #3 use a smaller french frie so it will fry faster and it is less potato in each bite. Thank you for your great service and the fresh ingredients and THANK YOU so much for not using nacho cheese on your asada fries. My tips aren't meant to discredit the hard work you guys put into your business, only a helpful hint on how to make things better. read more

I've been on a Mexican food kick these past few days and since this was nearby we decided to stop by. It's off of Rosedale right before Allen if you're going West right next to a girls boutique. There's also seating if you'd like to eat there and theres's plenty of shade. I came for the tacos, but I could not deny myself the SCUBA fries when I saw the pictures. Let me start if these fries. I loved the onion and the amount of meat they put on it! Not only that, but their fries tasted well seasoned. Most of the time the fries don't taste like much, it's just the toppings that are good, but this was ALL GOOD. I do wish the asada meat had more flavor to it. Having said that the tacos were just ok. So I've come here a handful of times. Typically I go to a taco truck for their tacos but this one. This one is my carne asada fries spot. The meat is flavorful in all their entrees. My favorite for tacos is the carne de lengua (cow tongue) sounds nasty but it's delicious with all the fixings! And their delicious fries with carne asada are the best!!! Make sure you share they are rather big. They also offers bigger option of them called the scuba fries which is great for three people. As for drinks my favorite is the horchata! Always deliciously flavored. Located Near Rosedale and Allen Rd, The location is pretty random and you have to keep an eye out for it or you'll miss it. I wish I could give a good review because I'm all about supporting small businesses. But, I can't! When we arrived it was a little busy so a wait is to be expected. We ordered only for 2 people. We were warned of a 20 min wait. Completely reasonable. After 1 hour of waiting our food still wasn't ready. People who came after us and ordered got their food and ate it before ours was even ready. When we asked we were told "we are bagging it up now" 20 mins later our food was ready. We got home and it was gross! The street tacos were hard. The asada was burned and the wet burrito was well, not wet. We won't waste our time or money to try again. And we wouldn't recommend anyone else to either. read more
