Stopped in on a drive south from Atlanta on 85. Well worth the little detour to get a good expresso. Comfortable spot.

Let me tell you first that I really, REALLY wanted to like this place. Enough that for a place that is 30-40 minutes drive away and otherwise never set foot, I've been following their social media handles even before the new management opened up shop last summer. However, the last few visits have been frustrating, each with its won nuances, and based on these failed attempts, I most definitely will not go back. It honestly has less to do with the quality of the items offered, but really how this place is operated - so if you don't care about none of that stuff, feel free to pass on this review. My first visit I couldn't even get inside because it was closed - I was by during the early afternoon hours that it was advertised to be open and it was a good few weeks past their soft opening. The second time, I call ahead but there's no one answering the phone. So I cross my fingers and was estatic for a split second when I could open the front door... until I find that only the door was open, but the cafe really wasn't since they apparently were closed for a private event. I later found out they post closings on their Facebook page. So third times the charm right? Nope - even after I check their page to see no early closings, I arrive about quarter til 1pm on a Friday afternoon to find I made it "just in time" before closing at the hour. Okay, maybe my timing is really unlucky - so I suck it up (for the time being). I attempt to order a cookies & cream frappe that was featured on their site. Not available. I ask, what other frappes? None, say staff. I ask for decaf latte. Yep - actually just kidding, nope, decaf grounds take time to prepare (aka not worth their time I guess). So, really I am left with ice or hot coffee. Okay, at this point as much I want to storm out the cafe - I am reminded that one of the owners from the second visit offered a free drink coupon (at this point my Yelp brain is saying, okay this Is at least is a 3 star review). I think, let me just get a drink and get outta here. Bless her heart, the barista I've been going back and forth tells me she happened to brew decaf coffee earlier and could make iced coffee with it. I am thinking - what saving grace, that stuff I would actually order - great, let's do that. Here comes the finale - I had told the staff that I was going to redeem this drink coupon as I said yes to the decaf iced coffee. Clearly, that did not reach her. She tells me that she doesn't know how to undo the transaction and clearly, she is anxious as I am in a slightly different sense - I had insight from the earlier TMI when she told me she is almost late for her game at 1. Okay, as the slightly more adult person here I tell her alright, I will pay but I want the management to follow-up and issue me refund. Thank goodness I proposed this cause guess what, amongst all the tension everything was a-OK since I didn't pay. I guess she thought I did and was trying to tell me she couldn't process refunds. I tried to tie a bow on this as best as I could - I tipped the poor girl 20% and wished her luck on her game. I hope I made it clear that my built up frustration wasn't aimed at her, as I tried to explain in between our unnecessarily long interactions. Oh, did I tell you the staff are not masked in January when vaccines were still limited to healthcare staff? Not the staff nor her companion. Goodness - at least I was wearing one. TMI 2 - no wonder another staff contracted COVID-19. All I can say is - good luck at your own risk, future patrons. read more

Peaceful vibes even with the occasional train rumbling past. It took me several tries to figure out where it was. Just between the train tracks and College St it's in the alley in between. I had a cappuccino with almond milk that came with beautiful latte art. There's a culture of coffee developing in the deep south that is balancing love, community, quality and Christ. It's not a bad look. Check out Prevail in Montgomery or Sidetrack near Auburn for similar environments, philosophies and of course delicious coffees and teas. read more

Great addition to Hogansville. Excellent coffee artistically served. Breakfast and lunch options are simple but very tasty and clean. I really like the grain bowl and the breakfast bagel. Service is friendly. Space is intimate and comfortable. When hit by a rush it can be a bit slow but totally worth it. Best coffee from Newnan to LaGrange. read more

Finally had the opportunity to venture out to Station Coffee last weekend (coming from Columbus) and it was worth the trip! I had the Thanksgiving croissant sandwich and it was absolutely amazing. Their croissants are so buttery and delicious. Also cannot go wrong with their cappuccinos - not many coffee shops get them right but they definitely did. Atmosphere was also great; it is a bright, cute, plant filled place that just feels like home. I only wish it was closer to me so I wouldn't have such a trek but I'll definitely hit it up on weekend trips. read more

As of the July 2020 reopening under new owners & management, Station Coffeehouse went from a 5+ star coffee place to 2 star coffee place. We used to drive an hour from Columbus just for this place, once a week where we would stay for numerous coffees and always getting our usual brunch sandwich. The decor was so welcoming, with the quietness you need to get work done, but with people in the background to feel the comfort of being in public. With the new changes, it feels very minimal and empty. The decorations still had price tags on it. The sugar packets were taken from Publix and lazily scattered. I got an iced latte with hazelnut which was nothing special, just needed to add a little more milk to my own liking. My boyfriend got a plain hot latte. It was cold and not even filled to the top. As of the reopening under new owners & management, they had few pastries and offered no sandwiches though we were told they were working on that for in the future. Overall, the quality of the coffee was less than average (nothing that I would ever drive an hour for again like I used to) and disappointing. The changes in scenery and decor were a let down, considering the old decorations set the bar high for homely-ness. When we walked in, we were looked at and not greeted by any of the 3 people standing behind the counter (one being a worker and the other two being the young married owners). It all feels so bland now. It was really just a stiff, awkward and unexciting experience. read more

I was elated when I saw that Station Coffeehouse was reopening and couldn't wait to go! I was not disappointed, my coffee was great and the baked goods were yummy too! Taking over a business during a pandemic definitely has its challenges so I was hesitant about trying it out, but the new owners have done an outstanding job at making it their own, while keeping some of the same vibes from the original coffee shop! Had to make a delivery here in Hogansville and saw the station. I stopped in and was very impressed. Very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The turkey sandwich was great and the Spicy Ginger Beer was amazing. They have other craft sodas to choose from which adds something very unique to this coffee house. Love this coffeeshop! It's located in a very cool looking old train depot. They serve such a great quality coffee and delicious pastries. They also have lunch specials and ice cream! I often see people having meeting here or working with their computers. The atmosphere is so pleasant and all the employees very friendly. I'm so glad to have this coffeeshop so close to my house! This place truly fell into our lap as we were looking for a good coffee joint. Even as you step in the ambience and environment reminded us of coffee houses back home in Seattle (minus the endless drizzle)! The building is steeped in history. Incredibly friendly staff and above all else excellent food and drink. The drip coffee had tremendous balance with a strong medium roast And less acidity. Paninis were excellent across the board.
