Not a lot of wine spots in this area, but it did not disappoint!…read more AMBIANCE (3/5): It's an old house, turned into a wine bar/dessert place. I'd say it's not great for big groups, but the owner VIRGIL made it happen with our group of 12! We had trouble finding a spot that could keep us altogether, but he allowed us to sit in the wine cellar which was an awesome experience! SERVICE (5/5): The owners VIRGIL & CAROLINE are an amazing duo. Virgil's knowledge of wine and Caroline's pastry skills make for a deadly combination. Virgil also gives a tour of the house and history lesson which makes everything feel so personal. Hard not to love the place when they are so friendly. FOOD (4/5): They only serve light bites, desserts & drinks. Hands down the BEST CRACKERS I've ever eaten in my life. $8 CRACKERS (large size): trust me, you will want more! These are HOMEMADE and the best thing I've ever eaten. $8 PRETZEL BITES: perfect pairing while drinking! These are soft and served with a side of cheese. $15 SMOKED SALMON DIP: amazing dip and served with those delicious homemade crackers & some fresh grapes. A perfect paring. BROWNIE: best brownie I've had in a long time! She wouldn't disclose her secret ingredient, but it was a MINT brownie. I died! OVERALL (4/5): I love supporting this local business. The owners are wonderful, they only buy wine from women or minority owners and they have a great selection of wine and delectable food. This place is a hidden gem! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The owner of the…read morespot, well-known Fayette County denizen Virgil Fludd, welcomed me and my dining companion. When we explained that we were there for dessert, he kindly described each offering and made helpful recommendations. He instructed us to have a seat and promptly brought out our selections. The desserts were simply delicious! We shared red velvet cake and key lime pie. The slices were large enough to share. I was very pleased that they looked even better than they tasted. The key lime pie was slightly tart and spurred a thick and crunch Graham cracker crust. DELICIOUS! The red velvet cake was also primo. Four layers topped with creamy icing. Pure heaven... the only thing that could have made it better would have been the option to add nuts... But that is just nitpicking. I urge you to go. Date night, girls night...any occasion. She was super busy, but checked everyone in and gladly took a photo! Let's talk about customer Service! From the moment Cade stepped up to say Hi, I knew we were going to have great service! We asked a lot of questions, and he made the best suggestions! Top notch! One of my friends was commenting on how she always has the best service, and she and Cade realized he had taken care of her group before! Consistency in the restaurant business is key, but you all nailed it! The wine flight (thanks Cade for the amazing recommendations!!) and the food was outstanding! Huge portions! My husband enjoyed my leftovers for dinner! Thank you for a fabulous experience!

The winery was overly packed and believe the owner wasn't expecting such a huge turnout. The wait was about 3 1/2 hours! I tried calling to make reservations earlier in the week, but they were only accepting reservations for 12+. As we waited, there were lawn games to play, live music to listen to and fabulous drinks to be had. The choc covered strawberry wine slushies were absolutely delicious!! We had a couple appetizers while waiting as well... The spinach and cheese stuffed bread, baked Brie and pimento cheese dip. All excellent, and some of the best pimento cheese dip we have had. When we finally got seated, we ordered a couple wine flights and the bruschetta pasta for dinner along with the pecan crusted chicken wrap. The chicken seemed a little dry but the wrap was still fresh and tasty. I have been there before and love the winery. I will continue to go back as their food is always fresh and delicious, their staff is friendly and the establishment itself is very clean.

You order at the bar, they give you a number to put on your table and try to find you. Enough that for a place that…read moreis 30-40 minutes drive away and otherwise never set foot, I've been following their social media handles even before the new management opened up shop last summer. However, the last few visits have been frustrating, each with its won nuances, and based on these failed attempts, I most definitely will not go back. It honestly has less to do with the quality of the items offered, but really how this place is operated - so if you don't care about none of that stuff, feel free to pass on this review. My first visit I couldn't even get inside because it was closed - I was by during the early afternoon hours that it was advertised to be open and it was a good few weeks past their soft opening. The second time, I call ahead but there's no one answering the phone. So I cross my fingers and was estatic for a split second when I could open the front door... until I find that only the door was open, but the cafe really wasn't since they apparently were closed for a private event. I later found out they post closings on their Facebook page. So third times the charm right? Nope - even after I check their page to see no early closings, I arrive about quarter til 1pm on a Friday afternoon to find I made it "just in time" before closing at the hour. Okay, maybe my timing is really unlucky - so I suck it up (for the time being). I attempt to order a cookies & cream frappe that was featured on their site. Not available. I ask, what other frappes? None, say staff. I ask for decaf latte. Yep - actually just kidding, nope, decaf grounds take time to prepare (aka not worth their time I guess). So, really I am left with ice or hot coffee. Okay, at this point as much I want to storm out the cafe - I am reminded that one of the owners from the second visit offered a free drink coupon (at this point my Yelp brain is saying, okay this Is at least is a 3 star review). I think, let me just get a drink and get outta here. Bless her heart, the barista I've been going back and forth tells me she happened to brew decaf coffee earlier and could make iced coffee with it. I am thinking - what saving grace, that stuff I would actually order - great, let's do that. Here comes the finale - I had told the staff that I was going to redeem this drink coupon as I said yes to the decaf iced coffee. Clearly, that did not reach her. She tells me that she doesn't know how to undo the transaction and clearly, she is anxious as I am in a slightly different sense - I had insight from the earlier TMI when she told me she is almost late for her game at 1. Okay, as the slightly more adult person here I tell her alright, I will pay but I want the management to follow-up and issue me refund. Thank goodness I proposed this cause guess what, amongst all the tension everything was a-OK since I didn't pay. I guess she thought I did and was trying to tell me she couldn't process refunds. I tried to tie a bow on this as best as I could - I tipped the poor girl 20% and wished her luck on her game. I hope I made it clear that my built up frustration wasn't aimed at her, as I tried to explain in between our unnecessarily long interactions. Oh, did I tell you the staff are not masked in January when vaccines were still limited to healthcare staff? Not the staff nor her companion. Goodness - at least I was wearing one. TMI 2 - no wonder another staff contracted COVID-19. All I can say is - good luck at your own risk, future patrons.
