    Mr. Cluck's Revenge
    Braden G.

I was visiting Newnan for work and needed a quick bite. Found this adorable place on google maps and wanted to give it a try. Easy to find free street parking. Entered with a warm welcome from the server/host and found a seat. I beat the Wednesday lunch rush as they quickly filled up. They have a fully stocked bar with some fun drinks, I did not partake but others seemed to be enjoying themselves. The decor was colorful and none of it was particular stylish, but it works for a small downtown cafe. I did have a baby with a considerably large head staring me down with a judgy look, but they can't help that. I ordered the Mr.Cluck's Revenged based off the server's recommendation. Funny name since it's turkey. I looked it up and turkeys do in fact cluck, my bad. I wonder if Mr. Gobbles was considered, seeing it typed I understand why it wasn't. A wide variety of chip options came with the sandwich. The sandwich was a nice size and still made the $15 price worth it. Great bread. If you find yourself in downtown Newnan it's worth walking from the square to grab a bite. Bonus Point: Great glassware and they give you a bottle to pour your own water

Great new neighborhood bar as a part of The Whimzical Cafe. Great food, service and a Cheers like atmosphere.

I know that several years ago there *was* another Mexican place in the same plaza, but it morphed into an Italian and later an Asian place, so maybe that was the point where this one started (?). There is plenty of parking in the plaza and a side-lot mostly dedicated to this restaurant. We came here for a dinner on a Monday as we had errands to run in Newnan. Somewhat surprisingly, it was quite crowded. There was no wait, but it was mostly full the whole time we were there. With the crowds come noise - if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the venue for you. I don't know if this was normal, but they also had a couple of separate birthdays being celebrated. Both involved a large sparkler-type thing and one involved the staff singing. I'm not complaining, just trying to describe the vibe. And, they have a robot that delivers some of the food. It seemed to have difficulty with navigating some of the aisles, so they may need to give up on it or reconfigure the seating. The menu was a departure from a standard Tex-Mex format. You could choose different meats for your tacos, etc. They had a variety of burritos and enchiladas. They also did offer a small set of combo meals - 2 tacos, rice, and beans. You could still choose alternate tacos for them. I went with that, while my wife opted for a 3-taco platter. We both liked the food and it tasted fresh. Prices seemed a bit higher than other Mexican places. I noticed that wine was $10 per glass also. You can definitely get a quality meal here, but for us it would be a longer drive to pay more for a similar meal that we could have in a quieter venue closer to home. I don't think I'll become a regular here, but it's fine depending on what you're looking for.

After waiting about 15 minutes for our server to show up I flagged down the mater de (SP) and asked what was up. He seemed confused until I told him we were never attended to. He was somewhat apologetic and said he was going to get the same guy as he initially said was going to be our server. Several minutes later the kid showed up and was very apologetic. He explained that it was shift change and he hadn't been told this was his table. I hadn't seen him come out from the back the whole time so I was curious (pun intended) where his 'tables' usually were. Ordered the lobster roll and the wife ordered the smash burger. Great service from then on. Lobster roll was very good even though a bit juicy (drippy) so kind of messy. Nowhere near that of the burger though as it had a very thin bottom bun that was soaked with grease. See pics. The French fries were delicious and perfectly cooked though. Overall, 70.00 with tip for lunch is a bit much for what you get in my humble opinion. The male wait staff is very swishy which doesn't bother me but seems a bit different for this town.

I noted that they recently had moved to a different location closer to Newnan. This venue has hosted several different restaurants in the last 5+ years, including the 2nd incarnation of Mamma Lucia's. We checked it out on a recent Saturday for lunch. The location is about a mile east of I-85 on Hwy 34. It has its own small parking lot, but is also located amongst a maze of small business, a bowling alley, etc. so there should be other parking opportunities if needed. There is a bar area when you enter and IIRC there is a large dining room in the back. However, it was a nice day when we visited so we opted to sit out on their covered patio. Our server was attentive and stopped by when needed. The only minor issue was that their online menu had been more expansive than the one they were currently using (mostly brunch). There were still a variety of dishes, just not quite as many as we'd expected. I wasn't super hungry so I just got a salad. It was large so I didn't leave hungry. I looked at the wines but they seemed pricey, so I skipped that. My wife opted for a brunch platter (eggs / sausage / hashbrowns) and liked it. The food was good. Prices were mid-range. If we go back, I think we'll try it for dinner instead, as we aren't usually huge brunch fans. However, this seemed like a decent choice for a good meal in this area.

It took a few minutes before someone walked out to greet me and he seemed like he really didn't want to service me. I should've walked out then, but decided to brush it off and place my order. While I am trying to order he starts having a conversation with the 2 ladies at the bar and even walked off. Once my order was ready and I am trying to give him my card to pay, he walks off again and walk over to the other register to take the guys order that was already sitting at the bar. He started ordering something else either to go or another meal because he was already eating. Then he comes back and takes my card. As this is happening another couple comes in and he throws up his hands welcoming them and says I already know what you're going to order, have a seat. He gives me back my card without saying a word to me. Not a thank you or enjoy, NOTHING!! I will not be giving them any more of my money nor time and I am glad that I didn't order more than what I did.
