I was in Forest City shopping for my birthday and I saw this place and wanted to try it for lunch. We walked in and were seated right away. The decor is a typical Asian restaurant vibe. The waitress was so friendly and she immediately got our drinks. We opted out of the soup they bring and I ordered the eight piece Crab Rangoon and Hibachi Chicken with noodles and carrots. My husband got the Hibachi Steak with rice and carrots. The Crab Rangoon was perfect! I love that it's in triangles so it's a lot easier to eat than the typical star shape. The food was amazing and they give you enough for two meals so we took home leftovers. We loved it and will definitely be back! read more

Food was tasty but the steak was tough. Over the last two years they have decreased the steak and increased the rice as well as increased their prices. Just don't go! This place was decent over a year ago but it has steadily declined to the point where I will never be back. Food was lukewarm the steak tasted like it was reheated and just to get to the point the only thing that was good was the soup. I have given this place a couple of chances, thinking that my last experience may have been a bad day for them. It appears that is not the case. Placed a to-go order for the steak and chicken combo and the chicken teriyaki, both with noodles instead of rice. If you are expecting traditional Soba noodles, you'll be very disappointed as they serve plain spaghetti noodles. The steak and chicken were very bland and flavorless. The egg rolls were mushy and unappetizing. To top it off, I ordered, and paid for, extra yum yum sauce, and they didn't put it in the bag. This is place is not only the WORST JAPANESE food I've ever had, but probably the WORST FOOD I've ever had. First off, the menu basically has 2 items, Meat with Soy Sauce or Meat with Teriyaki sauce. Secondly WTF is this??? I ordered the beef and Chicken plate. This is something that a 2 year old could make at home. Cubed meat, pan friend with soy sauce, nothing else. No flavor or anything. The meat (both beef and chicken) were chewy and tough. I also ordered some nigiri, salmon, yellow tail and tuna. When it came out it just looked bad to start. Went to eat there today ! First time ,The egg rolls were nasty!!! We were served the spicy sushi not what we ordered but instead of sending it back ( which I hate to do ) we got a carry out box ! My lemonade was watered down and was told if it wasn't ok I could get something else, I chose to go with no drink ! When the bill came we were charged for stuff we hadn't ordered and the price went from 5.99 to 8.50 on the sushi and the lemonade was on our bill ! When we asked about the price we were told the tiny taped on sign at the bottom of the menu said prices may change so that's the new price not the price I just read on the menu !!! I ordered egg rolls and they were absolutely disgusting. They were soggy and black. I told the waitress I didn't like them and she went behind the counter and she was told "she could have said she just didn't like them instead of saying they were disgusting" well, they were disgusting and that's what I'm gonna call it. I ordered take out a few weeks ago. Got home, sat down to eat and it looked as if someone had spit in my food! I took it back and they said it was the teriyaki sauce that had spilt out of its closed container. (Teriyaki sauce is dark brown, not foamy and almost white) I added the photo above. Yum! I had teriyaki chicken and bf had hibachi steak. All meals come with rice, sweet carrots, broccoli or mushrooms (broccoli with teriyaki, mushrooms with hibachi). The menu is fairly limited but very fast service. It was my first time here and my first time having hibachi-style food but it was very good. I will definitely go back but next time I will have teriyaki steak. Portion sizes are big -- we could spilt an entrée between us-- and super cheap. Less than $20 for 2 meals and 1 soda. read more

I had to give this place 2 stars due to getting some rotten chicken on my last visit. After biting into the chicken it was rancid tasting and smelled awful. We have a favorite dish here. My wife likes Teriyaki steak and I the Hibachi Chicken. There is another I have eaten a few times called Yakuniku, or something like that. Good flavor. We are NOT conniseurs of Japanese food but this is good stuff. Wait staff is polite and friendly. Food is served quickly, drinks stay full, and portion size is HUGE.
