My fiancé and I drove all the way from Atlanta to try out Chef Arsa new restaurant Murasaki Asheville. We knew it was going to be good but Chef Arsa who is part owner of this sushi restaurant has surely surprised us and has exceeded our expectations. We came here on a busy Saturday night and had a reservation to be seated at the sushi bar. Chef Arsa gave us the option to select from the menu items or do Omakase so we went with Omakase. Not sure if omakase option is available for all customers but we were surely glad we went with that. Chef Arsa carefully selected the menu items for us. He presented us with Red Snapper Crudo, Salmon Aburi, Smoked Toro, Tuna Tartare, Nigiri special, King of the sea roll, emperor roll(not in the menu), and ended the meal off with fried brownie and vanilla ice cream. Each plate was bursting with different flavors and texture. Our favorite was the Salmon Aburi! This wasn't just a dinner, it was such a wonderful/unforgettable dinning experience! There are plenty of parking in the plaza. The service here was amazing! Everyone was soo friendly! Our server Navlin was attentive, kind and helpful. Inside of the restaurant was really nice, calm, and zen. I am trying to find another reason to go to Asheville so I can stop by here for some great sushi! We can't wait to be back! Thank you chef Arsa for the best dinning experience ever!

The food is always great and the service always wonderful! I always end up taking my ramen home because it's so filling. Yay leftovers~

We have been her numerous times. The rolls seem to be growing. Getting so large hard to eat. Found out we didn't like the Spicy Kabanyaki. The Gangnam Roll was huge but surprising. Spring mix inside was interesting to have lettuce inside the rice. Ordered green tea and got Matcha tea- my mistake should have asked for clear Jasmine. Clean. Wait staff super nice. The entrees are spectacular! Ocean's 11 Roll * Shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. Topped with scallops, dynamite shrimp, and micro greens Kame Kaze Fried Roll * Spicy tuna, avocado, crab stick, and shrimp tempura. Topped with crab salad and spicy kabayaki Gangnam Style Roll Bulgogi beef, spring mix, and cucumber. Topped with seared bulgogi, spicy kabayaki, fried kimchi, and scallions Date Night Roll * Fried scallops, mango, and spicy aioli. Topped with scallops, tuna, spicy kabayaki, wasabi lime aioli, red tobiko, scallions, and kizami nori

Once again they guys behind the Sushi Bar are still rocking it! This was an "Off Menu" item the guys made up.

They are still rocking! The food and service are still on par if not better than before. Well worth trying out!

Today is my 3rd time here for dinner, got some real fresh and good sashimi, I love the snappers and yellow tail sashimi, they are so fresh and tasty. Great sashimi/sushi place in Asheville with reasonable prices. I will definitely come back again. Recommend, you don't want to miss it.

The best sushi I've had in Asheville. All the fish was very fresh. Service was wonderful as well.

Do they have hibachi tables so you can watch the chef prepare the food? I didn't see any in the photos.

    They do not have those.

The shumai and dumplings are alright, too. Be sure to get additions for the ramen, cause those eggs are so good, so's the rest. My only gripe is the chicken katsu doesn't come with rice or sauce, but I don't really think it needs it, I just personally like the rice to get a little saucy. It's fine, really.

A half dozen takeout bags were lined up for pickup, yet despite the rush our order was taken promptly and dinner arrived just as quickly. The Chashu Don came as a generous bowl of warm rice topped with chopped pork in a sweet sauce. A touch on the sweet side, but flavorful and plentiful. Mrs. K. chose the vegetable ramen, which we both enjoyed. The broth was rich and satisfying, paired with gluten-free noodles and plenty of toppings. The house tofu was a bit unusual, but overall the dish was excellent. Service understandably lagged in the busy atmosphere. No one checked back at our table, our drinks went unrefilled, and I had to flag someone down for the check. Small lapses, but they slightly dulled the shine of what was otherwise a wonderful meal. There was a nice size portion, the taste was delightful. The rice was cooked to perfection. 7 put of 10 Restaurant is very clean. Staff is friendly. 8 out of 10 I personally feel the best time to come into the restaurant is between three and five. It's not as busy. The food is still fresh and delicious. I rate the atmosphere 7. out of 10. The restaurant is right next to the gas station. Don't let that fool you this is a great little hole in the wall to visit, talk with the staff. Yes, there is a language barrier to a degree but they're so friendly and nice to take a minute how are you doing? I took the time to talk with the owner of the restaurant, I personally feel getting to know your local restaurant owners and staff is a good thing. It'll make your dining experience better. Zew, started creating sushi and cooking Japanese food back in 2001, Mr. Sushi opened in 2017, there was not very many sushi restaurants in the Asheville then. There's been many sushi restaurants come and go since then. There are Sushi/ Japanese/Hibachi restaurants in the area, however this one is truly a wonderful restaurant to visit it's quaint and down to earth-place, this is why I highly recommend this restaurant this is restaurant. with great personality. Zew is. Owners he is a delight to talk with, you see the passion in his face when he's talking about his food that he's created the original rolls that he makes. I recommend trying the Rangoon roll. There's no fish in it. It's there's imitation crab. It's a wonderful thing that he is doing here and he has truly traditional Japanese fried noodles. Which is very much a difference between the Chinese way of cooking the noodles. As much as I'd like to give five stars I cannot because I rarely give five stars. I love this place. I would return to this place and I hope that you will come to this place too and enjoy wonderful sushi and a little a hole in the wall from somebody that has compassion for the food he creates.

My favorite parts are the aisle full of alllllll the sauces, and the wide selection of drinks ranging from canned boba to bottles of ramune soda. I was happy to finally find some hot sesame oil here in Asheville. The only downside is that it doesn't have the large selection of fresh meat and produce like other large Asian supermarkets I am used to back in larger cities. I'll definitely be back when I need some more Asian food items.

The stores isn't large, but it's pretty well stocked. I have been to the larger Asian market, YZ, and I think Lee's Asian Market has a smaller overall stock of things, but what it does have, you'll get several brands. For example, I needed Pandan extract. At YZ, I could only find the McKormick's Buco Pandan flavoring. At Lee's there were 3 brands of Pandan flavoring, including the Pandan flavored paste I was looking for, which is also sold by Amazon for about $6, at Lee's it was only $1.50 or so. The owner, a nice Chinese woman speaks English pretty well and is very friendly. That's somewhat rare in Asian markets. She walked me over to the steamer area and gave me some advice on using the bamboo cone, which is what I ended up buying. She also helped me find the frozen Pandan leafs. She is super sweet and nice, which I appreciated. I also found some fresh sticky rice and sweet banana cakes near the register. They had two square Banh Tet (Vietnamese new year cakes with mung bean and pork) as well. I haven't seen fresh cakes like that at the other Asian stores, so Lee's gets bonus points for this!
