Excellent service. The food was pretty good. Sadly, however, they no longer offer teriyaki anything nor do they have vegetable tempura, both of which are pretty much a staple of Japanese restaurants. I had two different hand rolls as did my companion. Both of mine were delicious. My companion said that the California roll was only mediocre because it had no crunch to it to contrast with the contents of the role. We have had Fujiyama carry out twice in a week!! We had a special circumstance for Christmas and got take out today. It was wonderful. We got the steak hibachi, my daughter got the chicken and steak hibachi and my soon to be son in law got the Chicken hibachi. Everything was delicious. It comes with a lot of food and you definitely get full. I recommend this establishment for all food lovers. read more

The steak was ordered medium well and was everything from raw to medium. The chicken hibachi was dry. The hibachi vegetables were not grilled and there was a salty sauce with poor flavor poured over everything. The quantity of food was poor as well. Decent sushi in West Virginia... yes. This place surprises me every time. The rolls are fresh. The wait staff is attentive. The hot sake is good. All in all, it's a great place to eat sushi if you're in the area. This trip I had the Jenny roll and the Nabeyaki Udon soup. First, the roll. Light, fresh and tasty. It comes with either Eel or Shrimp. I chose eel. Spicy tuna, avocado and a Japanese BBQ sauce. It was delicious. Couple that with wasabi... killed it! Then the Udon noodle soup. Great Udon noodles. Soft and dense prepared just right. It came in a Roth with chicken, onions, and spices. I love this dish. It was about 40 degrees outside so this dish hit the spot. They were even nice enough to split the tab between food and alcohol, since I can only expense the food. Got in, enjoyed dinner, got out super happy! Great job Fujiyama! read more

It was a Saturday night and my wife, son and I wanted to go to somewhere different and new to us for a nice change- which living in this area can be a challenge. We decided to give this place a try. There is plenty of parking as it is set in a strip type of mall set up which is a nice thing. When we went in side, i was surprised at how small it was. It is narrow. The bar is right on the left as you walk in and then the rest of the place is tables. THere are about 20 tables or so. We did not have reservations, but we were seated immediately. Our waitress, Anna, was excellent. She was super friendly, prompt and very nice. We ordered a dumpling appetizer and a serving of spicy tuna sushi rolls. The dumpling was good with the sauce.. i think it was ginger based. However, the spicy tuna was Excellent!! when ever we go back, i will get more of these and maybe try other options. All three of us got a combination dinner, which is either beef and chicken or beef and shrimp. Along with that combination you get a salad with a good ginger dressing and a mushroom hot soup. The food was good but not as good as i would have thought considering the price of the meal. We also tried hot sake. I had never had sake before so my opinion on this sake is not a review of their sake. It is to strong a drink for me! But at least i tried it. We will probably go back and stick more to the sushi side and not go to the combination dinners. The service was very fast and good. It was a fun dinner with family. * I would have probably given this 3.5 stars if that was an option. Food here is top notch. We weren't sure what to expect of a sushi restaurant in a small town in West Virginia, but we were impressed by the manager who served us. He was very hospitable and friendly. If I lived in Lewisburg, I'd be a regular here, for the food and for the friendly atmosphere. The manager wears a hat, and everyone knows cool people wear hats. My fiancé got the surf and turf hibachi - the lobster was especially delicious, and a beautiful presentation with the lobster tail. I got a specialty roll, the sashimi roll (cucumber instead of rice is very difficult to pick up with chopsticks, FYI), and the yellowtail sashimi. It came with miso soup (when you order at least 2 rolls), which was perfect on a chilly evening. If you're into deep fried rolls, they had plenty of those. The manager was also telling us about how some of the specialty rolls were inspired by customers - like one that has pop rocks in it. Yes, the candy... I wasn't brave or eccentric enough to try that one, but he did say that you can't taste the candy, you just get the crunch of it. If anyone gets that one, please let me know how it is! read more

I came to this sushi bar mainly due to the high praise it garnered here on Yelp. It seems people have very high regards for this restaurant and that made me both optimistic and curious about it. That said, I wasn't as impressed as many customers apparently. The interior was very typical to strip mall sushi bars which is fine and the owner is Chinese and that's also fine. Chinese and Korean owners have a great many very good sushi bars across America so you should not expect a non-Japanese owner or staff to mean a sushi bar is sub-par. The restaurant was nearly full on a weekday which is a credit to its success as well. The sushi was... Ok. I ordered three simple rolls and all three were fine but by no means exceptional. The Philadelphia roll tasted really fresh though. The shumai were frozen and had been steamed too long in a microwave steamer probably. It was soggy and I sent it back to the kitchen. Many restaurants buy shumai and gyoza frozen from Asian groceries instead of making them from scratch. The reasoning I guess is that these are tough to make from scratch and people have in general low expectations for these side dishes. I buy the frozen ones myself and cook them at home which is OK at home but really, I eat out to get things I cannot or do not desire to cook at home. I don't expect to be served something from the frozen foods section. I would not say the sushi is as good as many places I've been in California or Florida but I will admit I've been to places in both States that are worse, too. It's truly a three-star restaurant in my view. Not bad but by no means awesome either. If you want sushi in Lewisburg probably your only option really though. read more

Over the years, this has legit become my favorite restaurant in town. I always have a good time here, and it's invariably the place where I always choose for celebrations (e.g. graduating from med school, birthdays) and pretty much anything else. I can't really count how many times we've been here, but it's enough that Krsna and the servers know us? :D? (What can I say? We love sushi.) Krsna is constantly dreaming up new roll ideas and over the course of the years, we've slowly worked our way through most of the menu in terms of the rolls that don't have seafood-other-than-fish in them. Daris is the sweetest server ever--super patient, attentive, and all-around awesome. The last time I went in there (...two evenings ago), my friend had told her I was coming back into town to visit and she ran to the door cheering when she saw me and gave me a big hug. :]! She was there for my graduation dinner too and patiently walked my relatives through a world of questions and mind-changes in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Our favorites/staples are... -A cauldron of gyoza soup with a side of sriracha -Paradise Roll -Spence Roll (also known as Awesome Roll) -Brammar Roll A (the one with mango!) I also really like the Deadpool Roll, Ironman Roll, Cherry Blossom... In short, it's pretty hard to go wrong here--you're bound to find something that you like! Was previously a regular customer, will never be coming back. Ordered yesterday, arrived 20 minutes after confirmation to pick up. The woman handling orders and seating, Dana, asked what I ordered and I told her. Gave me no indication of how long it would be. Wound up waiting 30 minutes inside the packed restaurant, in which they don't follow distancing guidelines, while Dana runs around with her mask below her chin and I visualized her both breathing and coughing on customer's orders in the process. After these 30 minutes I ask if she knows how much longer it would be. To which I am informed "oh it's going to be a bit longer." From time of ordering it was over an hour for a few rolls, in which I was made to wait inside the packed restaurant during this pandemic for the majority of it with no indication of duration of wait. read more

Just FYI, this is not a hibachi style where they cook at your table. The food was just ok, although the portions are relatively small compared to other hibachi restaurants we've been to. Stopped in here for lunch, and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The dining area was very clean and neat, quiet and organized. Our server was very pleasant and helpful with choosing some great rolls to try. The lunch specials were quite affordable, so we went with a three roll special, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and salmon. Hibachi is traditionally cooked in front of you on a grill. If you are expecting this you will be disappointed- it's a small traditional dining room but it does have hibachi on the menu. Unfortunately, not only is the dining room a disappointment but so is the hibachi itself. It's not even grilled on a hot surface, it's steamed rice, steamed vegetables, and meat that is covered in some sort of a teriyaki type sauce to cover up the fact that it is not grilled. Just made my 3rd visit to this restaurant, and they never disappoint. Were waited on by Krsna, who stated that he is also the manager. He was very friendly, humorous, and made some very helpful beverage (note: try the Wild Berry Lemonade) & appetizer (crab meat & cheese dumplings) suggestions. At one point he even added "I treat people here the way I would treat you if you were having dinner in my home". We really felt that was true. I ordered the filet mignon/chicken hibachi dinner combo; the rest of my party ordered combo dinners an well. We all agreed: the mushroom soup was very tasty, and the dinner was fantastic. We try to make it a point to add this restaurant to our itinerary whenever we're in the area, and will continue to do so. read more

Heard her tell sushi chef she still needed our roll. Dinner came. No sushi. The waitress was gone before I could ask where it was. I flagged her down and asked AGAIN. She goes to the sushi chef who said he didn't have any lobster. She goes to the kitchen, sound carrys here, asked the owner for the lobster. I heard him tell her no she couldn't have it. The waitress was apologetic. We're checking out when the owner comes out with someone else's order. I asked him why we couldn't have the lobster roll. He said he was busy with other orders. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I recommended it to several people before i had a really awful experience last month. I was with two small children and our server Dana was very obviously on drugs. After about an hour our order arrived cold and orders were wrong. Pretty much everything that could go wrong in a restaurant did go wrong. The owner was aware of the issues and didn't try to make anything right or discount our bill. The manager Jaime who is really great later offered a gift card to make up for terrible experience but the owner vetoed it. read more

However, the portions are getting smaller and smaller and smaller and it is seeming to take longer and longer and longer to get your food.
