Came here for a lunch break, during a conference. We were promptly seated, and kindly greeted by our waitress. No complaints there. I ordered the volcano roll and a spicy tuna roll. The food came out relatively fast, and tasted decent. But, those were some of the smallest rolls I've ever seen! I could've probably eaten eight of them! Ate there for first time tonight. Got there right at 5 and the two of us were lucky to snag 2 seats with an already seated party. My wife ordered hibachi filet and I ordered the hibachi filet and chicken combo. Our chef was good at the entertainment routine. I was surprised they still do the flipping of food (fried egg here) into peoples mouths. For the fee fried rice and the lo mein both are cooked pretty plain. They add egg to fried rice and nothing to noodles. These sides do get put on plates at the same time as the veggies so I guess you can mix in your own. The add a liberal scoop of minced garlic to the melted butter of everything they cook. So I thought that made everything tasty. We enjoyed everything in the hibachi meal. As you can see from my photo, there was plenty left to take home after eating a lot. I'd say the soup and salad were both just ok. Our server was friendly and very good checking on drink refills, getting our orders in quickly and getting our check. Our room had four grills and was pretty plain. I show up and order food for me and 2 others. the check comes out to almost 80$ which is fine I paid it. well my friend calls and asks me to make a to go order and I did. they bring half of the food out and we are waiting on a small sushi boat which is 70$. 30 minutes goes by turns out they had it done and finally after the waiters laughing they bring it over and you can clearly tell that they did not give us the amount for a small sushi boat, there was maybe half the normal amount. not to mention, the service was terrible and did not have a good time. read more

There is little about this place that is authentic. Even the description as a "hibachi grill" is a sham. Hibachi foods are cooked over a charcoal grill. What they are serving here is teppanyaki cuisine (food cooked on an iron griddle). The menu lacks most of the typical foods found at authentic Japanese restaurants. Authentic Japanese cuisine is quite unlike other types of Asian food--quite different from Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese or Thai food. One of the few (albeit derivative) Japanese foods that is served here is "so so" sushi, which has become ubiquitous and ordinary in all types of restaurants and grocery stores. It's rather sad to see parochial locals getting excited here because they think they are actually eating "exotic" Japanese food, when in fact the food here it is about as mundane and lacking in authenticity as one can imagine. read more

I love Fujiyama! I usually order sushi, but this time I went with the teriyaki chicken. It definitely did not disappoint! The portions were larger than expected, and you can't beat the lunch time prices. When we walked in, the restaurant was all but empty. I've ate at fujiyama many times I've never have had a problem. The last time I ate there the cook put uncooked chicken and cooked rice together and tried to serve it. I didn't say anything to the cook I talked to the waitress. The manager comes over and says it's fine if we don't want to eat it. The next time I I'm at Fujiy everything seems fine we wait an 1 hr to get seated once we get seated. The cook caused a Scene to get me kicked out. I am officially banned from eating there. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our hibachi dinner and California roll. We chose scallops and shrimp. Scallops with fried rice, shrimp with noodles. Generous portions. The soup with mushrooms was flavorful and the salad crisp with dressing perfect. Hibachi chef was entertaining and skilled. A wonderful break from fast food while traveling. read more

The sushi and gyoza are fantastic, I usually get the NY Giants Roll which is topped with spicy crab. Love it. I recommend ordering drinks by the pair because every time I've gone it has taken quite a long time to just get refills on my water. read more

Ordered Togo sushi this evening. The place wasn't busy yet so I can't even blame it on being busy. It was by far the worst sushi I have ever had. We tried one piece and had to throw the rest away in fear it was bad. The shrimp tempura was like rubber. They didn't put any of the normal sushi sauces that even the grocery stores manage to get right. Won't ever be back. We had even gotten what I call safe sushi just shrimp tempura rolls and Cali rolls. read more

The front door staff at this Fujiyama location either need to get it together or hire new staff. the front door staff just seems to be distracted by everything and confused.. the girl who answered the phone didn't seem like she even knew the menu and could make suggestions. not impressed. for how expensive this is and how good the food is. Do not order Hibachi here unless at tables and see them cook it. To avoid a 45 min wait for hibachi tables (short staffed), we were told hibachi in regular seating was the same...just without the show. It was not the same and it was awful. The vegetables had a flavor and texture of being steamed and the shrimp was soggy like it was boiled. It then came with a brown sauce poured over the top (say what...for hibachi??). To add insult to injury, our waiter asked why we felt it was different and subpar. So I told him and showed him how our food looked different than what was being served at hibachi tables. He said, "I see. Let me talk with manager and see about a discount." After a few minutes he delivered check for full amount. No reduction in price nor explanation. I asked why and he said manager said no. I insisted to see the manager. When he came over he said everything was done exactly the same as at the tables. We showed how it was different and he just shrugged shoulders and said it was hibachi. Felt deceived and overcharged for lower quality food. And, if they are going to do that then don't ask my opinion and offer to reduce price and then not do with no explanation. This place used to be great but will avoid it going forward. Definitely not Authentic Japanese food. Started out with salty mushroom broth then iceberg lettuce salad. The cucumbers in the salad were limp. Then fried rice, wow how original. Mixed vegetables. Everything got a healthy dose of sugar. Even my steak got syrupy sugar on it. But the thing that really pissed me off was the hostess. As we were leaving I asked if we could get a picture of our group in front of the Fujiyama sign inside the front doors. In case you haven't been there it's a giant glass wall filled with water with air bubbles percolating upwards. It had pretty lights and was a real photo opportunity. But the hostess said NO. She said because that's were the register was located and she wouldn't allow customers back there. She was being difficult and mean. We were all very upset. read more

The staff here is awful. I've tried this place multiple times and seems as though everyone there is distracted or just doesn't care but today was the last straw. Not sure of her name, but she was the only waitress working today at 1:30 pm and only had one other table to take care of.. yet she was very rude and not very helpful at all when questioning the menu. You have to try the full hibachi experience at least once! The chefs are so fun and interactive. My favorite thing to order is the sushi. They have super tasty special rolls. Spicy salmon, tuna, and especially their fire dragon roll which is a California roll with crab and spicy tuna and sauce. The place is new and very nice and spacious. We had the Hibachi and the service was 4 out of 5 food was very good. The guy cooking seemed new but tried very hard. We sat for awhile waiting for the cook at the hibachi. So probably don't plan on not having to wait. But overall very good experience. read more
