I suspect that the original station building was knocked down quite a while ago and a new, fancy, shopping centre has been built on top of it. In fact, Fulham Broadway feels like it is somewhat newer than some of the other places. Fulham Broadway tube station is the main London Overground Station serving Stamford Bridge, with the stadium just a couple minutes' walk away on foot from here. It is a pretty cool station, with Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre adjacent which includes Boots, Starbucks, Sainsbury's and Metro Bank. This is a full step-free station in London Travelzone 2. With the station being on the dark green District Line only, transportation options are limited, but there are buses that stop outside the station to help you carry on with your journey. Obviously, during football matches, this stadium can get very busy, so I would advise planning ahead if there's a match on at Stamford Bridge. The main part of the station was basic, however, it was clean and easy to follow and the staff were friendly and happy to help. 4* read more

Prettiest tube station! Very clean, underground and indoors. Always has a station attendant and heavy police presence during football matches. It is the best stop for Fulham Broadway, shopping and dining, and Chelsea FC games. It also has a ton of busses outside that will take you or connect you to most anywhere in London. Wheelchair access, toilets located in local retailers. It's built underneath a shopping mall so you can exit and stop at the Sainsburys for groceries, buy some clothes at a retailer, books at Borders, coffee at Starbucks, visit the gym, restaurants, movies at the Vue lots. Enough that I sometimes get off here to shop or eat on the way home even though I am closer to Parsons Green station. It was originally built in 1880 and listed as Walham Green. It was updated in the 1905 to accomodate traffic to Stamford Bridge stadium and the name was changed in 1952 to Fulham Broadway. It was redesigned in 2003 when the new shopping center opened. The old station is currently occupied by TGIFriday's and is now home to millions of peices of flare, deep fried appetizers and kooky wall decorations. read more

This was the nearest tube station to my flat when I lived in London, and it was a pretty good one. The station itself has a lot of offerings, such as a gym, a Prêt, a Starbucks, a Three store, a Sainsbury's, ATM machines, a Boots, and various other restaurants, food kiosks, and shops. It was very convenient to be able to pick up staples from Boots or Sainsbury's right after getting off the train. There was also free wifi both in the shopping centre and on the platform. The station gets pretty crowded when Chelsea FC have a game, and sometimes you have to exit through the stadium exit on game days. However, overall it's a solidly decent station, well maintained with staff available to answer queries and help tourists with tickets. There are also a number of good cafés and restaurants outside and around the station, and an M&S, Waitrose, and Whole Foods a few minutes' walk away as well. read more

Whilst I feel slightly weird reviewing a tube station, this one must be worth it due to all of the other shops and stores enclosed in its loving embrace. Obviously top of the list comes Nando's, with the cinema followed closely behind. The bonus for the whole centre is being able to eat at one of the many food emporiums such as the chicken feast already mentioned, PizzaExpress, Wetherspoons, or other nearby restaurants like GBK, before stocking up on drinks at Sainsbury's, sweets from Mr Simm's Olde Sweet Shoppe, and heading upstairs to the cinema to watch the latest flick. And if you're feeling a little less healthy after all of that, there's even a David Lloyd health and fitness club on the top floor to make you feel good again! Oh, one tip though, avoid like the plague when Chelsea are playing at home - unless you have a reservation for one of the restaurants, or you're just going to the cinema, you might as well stay at home and avoid the crowds! read more

This is a very convenient station, with shops, a gym, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and a cinema all rolled into one and of course a district line station. The trains are fairly frequent on this part of the district line, however the station can get very busy and is an absolute no go area when Chelsea are playing at home. All in all a neat and modern station, with all the amenities one would need to make it a very convenient stop on the way home/to work. read more

Almost a shadow of King's Road, Fulham Broadway is a similarly posh but less hectic Chelsea thoroughfare. I actually much rather to pass through using it rather than King's Road which sets my teeth on edge (a combination of commercialism and excessive foot traffic). The blend of elegant but mainly understated residential and more folksy, less posh shops makes it a more reasonable half mile than its neighbour, much to my relief when I find myself westerly. read more

Fulham broadway station has a medium sized arcadia like shopping centre, with shops such as gourmet burger, nandos, sainsburys local and boots. It has two floors. The second floor also has a cineworld cinema and a gym. Avoid during the football games, it is very chaotic during that time. The station is next to a football ground. The station is on the district line only, and is very busy during peak times which is weekday mornings and evenings. read more

Quite a nice tube station - clean compared to a lot of London tube stations. Nearly always staff around too which is a big bonus! Very convenient if you're going to Fulham - comes out right in the broadway which is 2 floors tall where there's a Sainsburys, gym, Boots, Krispy Kreme (mmm sometimes have seen them giving out freebie tasters!), cinema, Lloyds bar, etc. So plenty of things to do! Can be a bit of a nightmare on a football match day because of crowds etc, but that's the same with anywhere football matches take place and overall quite a nice area to be in! read more

A hybrid of a shopping mall and a tube station, the Fulham Broadway Station is rather convenient for those who live nearby or visiting nearby places. I only passed through on a trip to a match at Stamford Bridge and found that the general crowd control was conducted fairly well, the station was wide enough to accommodate the crowd without any incidents. Unfortunately, the shopping mall portion was closed at this time, but given the sheer number of people, that was understandable. One warning - gets really busy right after any matches, so the best option would be to hang around elsewhere for a bit longer before attempting to catch the tube! read more

Fulham broadway station was one of the best maintained station in london,It was on the district line,wimbledon branch.The staff had a car park and a medium size shopping center.The station was only 2mins walk from Chelsea football club.On match days,the main gate will be closed but the entrance closer to the football ground will open. read more

Otherwise really cool tube station - exits/enters to a mall with all essentials plus cinema/gym. Bland and full of average shops (although Joy is a joy), the rebuilt station could appear in any town, although shoul not in London town. The addition of a cinema to the area is very brilliant, however, and it's a vast cinema too with lots of screens and all large (unlike Odeon). Not sure the Station deserves the stars though you have to wait eons for a tube read more

Your remarks on Fulham Broadway Station let me go back to the sixties. One day - I was just living in Fulham - I wanted to go to the West End. It was a Saturday. I could hardly believe my eyes and I wondered why there were so many people on the streets. Shops were closed and the windows were barricaded. People were shouting. Thousands of them, I would say. At least that is how it looked like. I, the fool, asked: 'What's going on here?' 'A football match, dear.' So I learned that they all were heading towards the football stadium. Chelsea that is. I went into the station. Quite a struggle to get by. The ticket collector took me by the shoulders. 'I don't want you killed,' he said. I waited in his wooden booth and went - when most people had gone - down the stairs. The train was a mess. Hundreds of knives, I suppose, had done its work. In the Netherlands this sort of behaviour was quite uncommon. So you can imagine, that Fulham Broadway Station always brings back this memory. Especially as I am getting older. From the pictures I can see that the station has completely been modernized. Fulham, how I miss you! I think time has come to pay you a visit. You are worth it! Fulham Broadway station has everything you need from coffee to movies, food to keeping fit. Also public transport. Like other people have said, stay away when Chelsea FC are playing at home, total chaos. read more
