A fun find on the outskirts of Louisville. It's pretty spartan, but you have a full view of the track while you wait your turn. It's an indoor facility, so there is no weather risk. Only downside is the exhaust fume odor, but it's not too bad. They have adult and kid carts, and honestly the kid cart speed is fine for a novice adult. We went on a weekend and essentially had the track to ourselves (group of 4). We didn't feel intimidated or out of our depth at all, even though there are regular racers on site. One race does fly by, so it can get a bit pricey if you're eager to race a couple of times. We only stuck around for one, because we didn't want to wait 20-30min between races on the track. The "park" has changed names but not much else. Located in an industrial park, Full Throttle offers three activities: go karts, axe throwing and a rage room (to smash things). We originally planned to book axe throwing online for 3 of us. Thankfully we never finished the process of setting up an account, booking a time, etc. The axe throwing area isn't in an air conditioned area. Small fans were at each station but it was incredibly hot and people playing were melting. Moving forward I wouldn't chose this spot for axe throwing. As a walk-in we signed up our son for go kart racing. Three races are $59 so we did the 2-hr Adrenaline Pass that included go karts and axes. It was $50 but guaranteed at least 3 races. We also had to pay an $8 fee for an annual pass. Because of his age (12 yrs) he was put into the junior category and with no one else his age he drove alone. A bit lackluster but otherwise he told us all the way home how much he loved going. The crowd was slow and he got in several races. My husband and I weren't as interested to race and with the heat we opted out of throwing axes too. This meant 2 hrs of sitting to watch our son - which didn't sound awful but the seating is TERRIBLE. They only have metal stools and by the end of the night it felt like I'd biked a few miles. I'll never go back without taking a camping chair! We also checked out a few arcade games to distract us but honestly they felt so dirty I immediately walked away. The same could be said for the tables in the lobby, plus the team had ample time to clean the area in between guests. Food or snacks aren't available, but chilled drinks can be purchased. The team has a small fridge behind the counter. I also noticed they kept guest personal belongings so they weren't damaged during driving, etc. Party packages can be purchased for birthdays and company outings. read more

Since we were passing through we just happen to drive by this place. Okay, I was exploring- this place is off the beaten path. They were open and we had the time to spare so I thought we'd give it a try. Turns out it's a great way to kill an hour. Once inside we were greeted by those working at the front desk. They explained to us how it works. The pricing is set such that you basically get a $3 discount for each of the second and third races. So for approximately $40 you can race three times. Each race is approximately 8 minutes. There's an additional $2 charge for a head sock for the helmets - sanitary - can't really get mad at that. They also have axe throwing which I did not try. And it looks like you can rent the place out for birthday parties and other events. Cool. Definitely worth checking out. read more

RAGE ROOM was pretty fun. Would have been more fun if we were able to bring a few of our own things to smash. You buy stuff to smash off of a menu - liquor bottles, clay pigeons, beer bottles, flat screen TV's, etc. Dalton did a good job getting us all suited up for the destruction. The jumpsuits get hot, so dress lightly underneath. Broken glass is sneaky and gets into places, so be careful. Don't go with more than 4 people or you have to rotate out people, as only four are allowed in the room at a time. It was fun, but I think I've checked this off my bucket list. On a Saturday afternoon this place was packed. It was almost 40 minutes of waiting before we ever got a race. Despite the delay, the crew made sure we got our moneys worth. The carts were well maintained with a long enough track to test your skills. Don't trash talk your friends or you might be humbled. Axe throwing was harder than expected but maybe a few drinks at the bar will help with your aim, maybe not. I gave up and went back to the carts. It's surprising physical so after 4 races we were spent and ready to find food. They serve food here too btw if your hungry. Come check them out. I came here on my way to Lexington as I have been wanting to try to rage room for sometime. I found a hotel brochure that had a coupon for $5 off your purchase of $25 or more. We have rage rooms in Texas where I am from, however they tend to be pretty expensive. Out the door with the video package my price was $26 and some change. With that I got 10 glasses, two liquor bottles and 10 skeet shooting clays. I went to the items pretty quick, but it was definitely a great time and very fun. I came the Tuesday right after school got back in so it was absolutely empty. In the 45 minutes I was here, not another person came in. I personally thought this was pretty cool, but if you're looking for a lively environment on weekdays this is not it. The staff was really kind and fun to talk with. We came here for indoor go karts due to the rain for the kiddo. Nice location and they have a few nice amenities like a few arcade games to pass the time when you first walk in. Also a winner stand 1st, 2nd and 3rd stand to take pictures. We got a couple of races but they offer a range of packages. There is also a snack bar, axe throwing and a rage room too. They give you a racing cap to wear before you put your Helmet on. They have sanitizer available and they has cleaning and disinfecting sprays at the ready for them to clean. Sarah has been stressed lately and I had to work a little over the weekend (which I'm sure added to her stress). To avoid her becoming so stressed that she killed me or the dogs, she suggested throwing axes! We've both been wanting to try this for a while now and today just so happened to be the perfect timing for our busy schedules. Locationally, this wasn't close to us or our home. We were trying to go to the other axe throwing location less than 10 minutes from us but it appeared to be booked up, so I did some deeper digging and found this place. It was open, it had slots for axe tossing, so the decision was made. Price-wise it was comparable to other places. One hour was $20/person. It is something to note that the axe throwing "instructors" do work for tips so carry some cash if you're so inclined to tip. They haven't quite figured out the way to use cards to tip their employees but hopefully it's something that comes down the pipeline. The instructors were attentive and helped situate you for playing games. They even helped keep score and were relatively easy to talk to, providing pointers when needed. The building is in the same space as a go-kart track so the scent of gasoline is real. There are also a lot of rowdy children in the initial vestibule BUT the axe throwing area is 14+ only. There's also a bar located within the axe arenas. We didn't drink but it looks like they've got canned beers, liquor, and other beverages. They also have a small menu that has what I would call concession stand food. It's an outdoor thing... cause you can't have gasoline and running engines in a closed space so it's kinda chilly. They've got those propane heaters which definitely help. It's overall a really neat spot. They've even got go-kart/axe throwing packages so you can try both (but not at the same time). I'd check them out, they can only get better at what they do with the newness of their axe business! read more

I took my daughter. She's only 8 and this is the only place that would let her drive. We had an absolute BLAST! For 2 hours we paid something like $50 each and raced probably 15 times. I have never heard such a deal. I was completely impressed with the entire crew there. Steve, Drew, Grayson, Jacob, Isaac, and Cody took great pains to endure my daughter was in the car and belted properly. Every time we got in the car the had to put a seat insert in and adjust the seat and every time. They spoke w her, ensured she was comfortable, and even motivated her to race her heart out. This crew is seriously the most patient and catering group of employees that I have ever worked at anywhere I've ever been! I am in the process of opening a small eatery, this will be the first place I come to poach employees cause these guys are the best. I've raced karts with K1 (I assume an affiliate of BIK since a lot of their gear and printouts are the same) and I really enjoyed Bluegrass Indoor Karting! The staff was very efficient, very professional and very friendly. The karts are gas-powered, rather than electric which I had thought they would be since it is an indoor track. This means that you don't get the instant torque of an electric kart, but it also means that knowledgeable drivers are rewarded for choosing the correct racing line since it takes these engines a little more time to get back up to top speed. They are quite fast. These are not your typical go-carts. As one reviewer noted, the track staff is interested in letting the faster karts around the slower ones and, if you're used to "Funland" style go-carting, you're going to see a lot of the blue flag with yellow stripe (that mean's get out of the way, please). Personally, I'm all for this since I don't want to get stuck behind someone who is wandering all over the track, preventing my passing and generally ruining my white-knuckle thrill ride. You get to know what all these flags mean as well since there is a short safety seminar held before you get to strap in and press the go-pedal. I feel like this is important since no one wants to get hurt trying to have fun. At $18 an 8-minute race (approximately 13-17 laps), it probably isn't something I'm going to do every weekend, but I do plan to go back. I want to shave another half second off my time! read more

Amazing experience! These karts are the fastest I have even been on and loved it. It is different than a lot of go karts as the focus is on getting a great lap time with perfect angles to the turns. It is an individual/staggered start so you are not on top of each other in the course. Other ones I have been to have everyone together at the start and it turns to "rubbing is racin'!" So this is more Le Mans and less NASCAR. They give you a hand out and record each lap. Winning goes to the best individual lap (not overall average). The karts are very fast, and their brakes are responsive. The track is well-staffed to monitor the race and quickly correct karts that get stuck on the course. It is also well-equipped with traffic lights and flags to inform you if you need to drive with caution or if you are being passed by another driver. The track itself is very clean and designed with a fun mix of tight corners and wide turns. They also offer memberships options. With a $40 adult membership, you get your first race for free, another free race the week of your birthday, a cool black t-shirt that says "I leave skidmarks @" on the front and "Bluegrass Indoor Karting" on the back, $2 discounts on Arrive & Drive, and a member ID card. They also have interesting special events every week like Member Mondays (2 for 1 races = 16 minute session), special events on Tuesdays (like a 25/50/100 lap race, and a 2-hour team endurance race) and open league on Wednesdays.
