He was communicative and was early for the appointment. Checked out everything and got the vehicle running and I highly recommend Richard.

A few years ago, I took my first 4Runner V8 to Toyoworks for a timing belt and water pump replacement. They advertise themselves as Toyota/Lexus specialists. Unfortunately, the timing belt was installed incorrectly and snapped while the engine was running -- under their care. This caused major internal engine damage, including several bent pistons. To their credit, they did repair the engine. However, they still charged me for the original timing belt service, which I now understand should have been waived at minimum. According to Arizona law, auto repair shops must perform services with reasonable care, and if negligence leads to damage, they can be held responsible (see ARS § 12-561 and the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act § 44-1522). The most frustrating part is that the engine was never quite the same after the repair. It developed a light "ticking" noise and felt like it had lost some power. I ended up selling the vehicle later on, but that experience stuck with me. I'm not posting this to discredit the shop -- I know many people have had good experiences with Toyoworks over the years. I'm simply sharing my own so others can ask the right questions and fully understand what kind of accountability is offered before committing to major work.

They have serviced my car multiple times now and every time was day of drop off and pickup. They have had very helpful honest and transparent conversations about my vehicle and its issues. When my vehicle was at the end of its lifespan they even took the time to talk through other car models I could move on to. This business customer service mirrors that of a family. They care about their customers and won't lead you astray in any fix that isn't necessary. So now I'm taking my single recommendation and spreading it here. This is an auto shop you can trust and deserves your business.

I am extremely hesitant to bring my car to a mechanic shop normally because my dad typically fixes my cars for me. I wanted to give him a break so that is what lead me here. A little over a year ago I brought my car in for a horrible noise it was making. They diagnosed it and over $1,000 later I got the call my car was fixed and ready. As I was driving away, the same very glaring and obvious noise happened even before I left the parking lot. I called and let them know it was still making the noise so they had me bring it back the next day. I went on a drive with one of the mechanics so I could make sure they knew what noise I was talking about. They kept my car, put some oil/lubricant on a few things, and said good to go. Again, my car made the noise as I drove out of the parking lot. I called again to tell them it was still making the noise and I was told, "I don't know what to tell you, your car is old and we could spend years looking for what is causing the noise." And that was it. No offer to try to figure it out and I've now spent the money I barely could afford as a single mom and my car is not fixed. And I don't have the additional funds at the time to take it elsewhere because I spent it with them. Here I am, over a year later and the car is still making the noise because I'm nervous about trying at another mechanic. My friend over the past year has had two very similar experiences where the initial issue was not fixed at first and she has had to go back. She had to pay for the non-fixes and again for the going back to actually get it fixed. I have no doubt the work they did on my car was done properly, however it was not the right work or the fix for my issue. The employee even said he thought what they replaced looked like it had already been replaced before (like it was not the original part). I feel like that should have raised a flag that maybe it wasn't the part that needed replacing. I would use caution when considering going here.
