"I say this earnest. And honest. I took over 1hr of my time actually quoting in home. A LOT of that Due to understand 3rd party. And It took 3 gallons of gas. Over 1 hr of drive time. Additionally waiting outside home to meet 30 minutes late. I kindly request what should never happen. I wasted my time. These are my words. It is not about the gas the drive time it's about that somebody contacted me. That wasn't there. That makes excuses for the person that wasn't there on time that I implicitly understand makes decisions. This was sad and earnest. I work for professional people that do what they say. These include Fortune 500 CEOs professional athletes and extremely correct neurosurgeons that make way more money. And I Chose to show up exactly on time for our appointment. I don't usually respond this way but ... Follow up. I promise you my response was honest. You can feel free to engage me and actually question my reply However I will not engage your proxy. That deferred and didn't call you. This leads to misunderstandings. Now let me get back to my actual work that you waste my time."

Baas Cabinets and Remodeling - Final correct invoice for much less.

    Baas Cabinets and Remodeling

Hired BAAS Construction company in May of 2020 to do a remodel of home that was scheduled to start…read moreJune 15th. First contract was for kitchen, knocking out a wall, removing a fireplace, lockable flooring, but when he said he could do the entire remodel we signed a second contract to change lock in flooring to porcelain flooring through out the entire house, install a doggy door, add a few recessed lights and a complete remodel of bathrooms. He said he could do it all His employee, started on June 15th and he was here everyday as promised. (He took a vacation which is normal). Had we known it would only be one employee doing a complete remodel we would have gone w a different company. The employee did a good job. My floor is level. Bathrooms are done. Kitchens done. Their employee said when he completed the job, that it was definitely a learning experience for him. Slow n steady. If u are considering hiring this company I would want to know: 1. They are a 3 man outfit. They started June 15th n completed December 31st. Have lots of time if u hire them. 2. I supplied all material except the kitchen cupboards because they were custom built by him. I was surprised with a 3500.00 bill for shower materials. He did tell me he was using Schluter products but I never expected a large bill like that. The cost should have been disclosed when he told me he was using it. 3. They would ask for a "draw" on their balance as it moved along. I always paid when asked. One week in September I gave them 5000.00 for labor. They also asked for the granite money because they needed to pay for it and I gave them a separate check for granite 5,000.00 at the same time. I found out from the granite company that they had not paid for my granite with my check and had lost the two pieces of granite I had picked out because they didn't put a deposit on it. When I contacted them about my granite, they were on a 2 week vacation and refused to take any action on granite while there. They refused any texts, phone calls from me or from the granite business. I had to go to granite company and settle for slabs of granite they had in stock because my 1st choice was gone. Then it had to be ordered n fabricated. This pushed us back a month! 4. They left me with no countertops, a sink that had one side that worked, and only because I complained about not having a sink.... 5. We had to find and hire a dry waller because he couldn't find one. Our Drywaller did an excellent job. Drywaller came every evening n weekends to get it done and not hold up BAAS construction for a great price. BAAS reimbursed me for that cost. 6. Granite finally gets here. It was measured and cut using the base that was there. BAAS had made the sink opening 33" and my sink was 30". BAAS had the sink measurements before they built the opening so it should have been built to fit. Now the granite company has cut the granite wrong. I bought a bigger sink and saved the granite company from having to acquire more granite at their expense. This also pushed the job back 10 days because it was a special order sink. 7. They forgot to order enough cabinet doors for kitchen, order the trim on cabinets. The island was built 1/2" to short. They had to raise it. 8. 6 months later , the final bill came. They wanted 6,158.94. This did not match what I thought I owed them. I texted them and said I want to discuss final bill. They did not want to discuss and said if I don't pay, they will put a lien on my house. They finally came to the house to discuss because I refused to pay the bill until we discussed it. I wanted to see the receipts/bills for what the additional costs were for. I was told in the text that it was plain n simple in their invoice with no explanations. The final bill after discussion was 2983.68. Sure glad I didn't give in to 1st bill for 6148.00. 9. I paid final bill on Jan 8,2021. 10. I am happy with my remodel, performed by their one employee, but would not hire them again for anything because of the issues as we went along. And definitely because of how they refused to answer texts or emails when I had an issue but expected me to reply when they needed money. Sneaking off on vacation without telling us they wouldn't be on the job, with my granite money instead of paying for my granite, was a terrible decision for them. I have pictures and texts to prove my statements. 11. Think long and hard before signing a contract with them. They claim change orders prolonged the project. There were two total contracts signed at beginning of project. Make sure EVERYTHING is in contract.

Hired them to install new storm door. Had several appointments cancelled/changed. Feel they were…read morea little over priced, but I like to hire small local companies when I can. However, I have 2 issues that are still unresolved for over a year. 1. After multiple promises, I still do not have an invoice for work performed. 2. The door is not hung correctly, allowing cold air in. I have called and texted them repeatedly, and if I do get a response, it is one excuse or promise after another, but nothing gets done. I cannot recommend them, as they seem to have very little work ethic.

I'll try to explain this "Not Good" rating as briefly as possible. If there was an option for…read more"Sucked" it would be more appropriate. In short, this man took my $2000 deposit, and over nearly two years (pre-COVID), failed to complete a single task in the contract. I asked for my money back and sent a demand letter. Dave gave excuses such as other jobs running over, personal injuries/limitations, family health issues, etc. He complained about how many times he had to come to my house to talk about the plans. While I admit that I did have an evolving vision that sometimes needed a face to face discussion, most of his trips were for his benefit, not mine (e.g., had to re-measure several times and even asked me to take measures to send). He stated that his right to keep the deposit was based on work already done. I never saw anything done. He also tried to withhold some of my items as "collateral" and in legal terms, that's called theft. I eventually had to make a trip to his workshop to pick up my property. I cannot speak to the quality of Dave's work, but I can share with you that he took advantage of someone in a state of grieving. I felt bad for each of his reasons as to why he couldn't finish the project because I was in a fragile state. In hindsight, I was manipulated. Dave may respond to this with unsubstantiated excuses. Near the end of my correspondence wit Dave, he sent me a final invoice that was $4000 over my quoted price stating that the job had caused him extra work and travel that was not anticipate. Again, I share with you that he NEVER DID ANYTHING in my house. Please choose a different carpenter to save yourself some time and money, and some very likely heartache.
