Its a nice modern library. I wish i knew about it sooner. It has a very good selection of books you can't find at other libraries. Parking can be tough sometimes if there is something going on at city hall. Theres a computer lab, cafe, photocopier and study rooms. You can suggest books for purchase. Don't know any other libraries that offer this feature. Its a good place to go get books but just an okay place to study. Firstly, the library itself is old. Making practically every portion of the library grimy and under maintained. The carpets are all stained. The desks are very old. You have the need to constantly wash your hands, and or, sanitize your hands whenever you touch a piece of furniture. Second, the library is underwhelming in terms of accommodations with today's current technology. To elaborate, everyone has cellular devices and laptops, which means, there must be an excess amount of places for outlets. But, there simply is not. And when it is open, someone will rush to that spot to plug there equipment into. Trust, it happens all the time. On top of that, the library places dainty phone outlets for the general public to charge their cellphones. This feature, is quite cheap. Makes the school look cheap too. Third, tables. Tables are a first come first serve possession. The library's overall architecture limits the tables for students to sit and study. You must rush to a table in order to get that spot for yourself. Fourth, the floors. There are about 5 floors (including the basement). The third floor is designated to be the location for complete silence and study. And the rest of the library consists of mere "hangout" spots with tables to talk however loud you want. In actuality, there is only one floor where a typical library is conducted. Overall, very disappointing. The only benefit would be the students and librarians who work there. They are generally nice and are 100% willing to help you. read more

This library has certainly come a long way since its re-modeling however its too damn loud. There are quite a bit of transients there as well. Not that I have a problem with the less fortunate they do tend to smell and they spread out throughout the library so no matter where you sit, you tend to have to put up with a strong pungent body odor. But by far, the worst part is the noise. People seem to kind of come here to hang out cause they have nothing else to do (at least thats the feeling I get). read more

this is an awesome huge library that has recently been renovated with a few exceptions. it has the greenhouse cafe adjacent to it & fullerton police dept next door. when i' m in cali i find myself in here at least 1x week doing work, using computer, etc. only complaints: #1 dirty restrooms every time never fails & to top it off they are too dam small for this size of the library! #2 during the summer i notice there is tons of bums that tend to take up too much space lounging, napping, only in the library to take advantage of the air conditioning! #3 same bums are sponge bathing in the restrooms! #4 not pleasant to be smelling stinkos sitting next to you, talking to themselves or snoring when your trying to work or study! #5 parking lot is too small for this size of library! #6 internet/computers are so slow after 4pm (guess its because the amount of usage they are getting/according to the staff) #7 printer machine rips off your change 1/2 of the time! #8 staff needs to discipline loud teenagers yapping about silly nonsense. (different areas, different noises, just saying) #9 staff also needs to discipline loud peeps that are using the computers, who have their headphones on that are singing like they're in the shower! disturbing disturbing! #10 1/2 of the time the same staff members look like they are 1/2 asleep, yawning & disgusted with their job! (its only a few staff members, always the same faces). not all most are helpful! so 10 complaints later & yes i will still go back because its a mega library, a convenience factor & they do offer much more then the average library in the local areas. if they address my top 10 shit list, i may not find anything to complain about. these are all consistent issues every single time i attend this library! its a shame because its really a beautiful library newly renovated inside & out! time for more supervision throughout the whole library before it gets more out of hand! i'm pretty much like everybody else. this library is LOUD. nobody knows how to control their kids. i don't study here, cause i'm not in school, but i am here for the large manga section. i wouldn't mind sitting in there and reading, but i can't because it's LOUD. for a library, it's just ridiculous. every single time i go here, there's a kid having a tantrum, climbing on something, talking really loud, throwing shit everywhere. it's so annoying. so i grab my books and run. read more

What a great library! The only better one I have ever been to might be Cerritos. This place is clean, spacious, has great WiFi, and has a large selection for whatever you are looking for. I am writing a review only about my experience of applying for a passport. I wanted to expedite to get a new passport for my trip in summer. I live in LA and guess what? All the post offices within 15 miles from my place don't have any appointment left for passport before July; they don't allow walk-in. The one place that has walk-in option is near LAX and I found I have to wait from 5 or 6 am or wait for 3-4 hours- ridiculous! I decided to go to Fullerton Library instead. This was what happened: I took a train from Union station LA to Fullerton- 30 mins. Walked to the library -10 mins. Passport processing- 20 mins (2 people waiting in front of me). Everything was done within 1 hour!! Library itself is large and clean and there is even a passport agent who is super friendly and helpful. 1 hour is enough to apply for a passport including the trip from LA. I don't understand why people in LA are waiting in a long line for 3-4 hours to apply! Go to this library or nearby city in orange county! read more

We came here when we had no airconditiong at our house and it was 104 degrees. That was the reason we came here and spent an afternoon. The library was comfortable but there are too many people here on their cell phones talking too loud and they act like the library is their home office. It's not really a place that you can study or read in peace because people are too loud. I wish the library personnel would tell people to be quiet. read more

I love this library! I used to work here 16 or so odd years ago while attending my last years at CSUF,....it's evolved so much. I utilized Passport services today, for the very first time. I usually go to the Post Office, but my guy told me to go here. We got there at 9:30 a.m., and there was couple people waiting in line already, Library opens at 10:00 a.m..... So get there early, and wait in line. I sort of dropped the ball on this one, we are leaving the country at the end of May, so I need to renew my kids Passport, and apply for a new one for my Lil one. Applications were ready to go, all I needed was to check in, pay the dues and move along. Even if you are first in line, expect a 15 to 20 minute wait, however, unlike the post office, the library has a designated office and agents for passport services, and that is what I love. Process was easy and efficient, $160 later, for kids passports and a $50 dollar processing fee, we are all on our way to a relaxing tropical Bahamian vacation. Going back to the library, ....staff is amazing and efficient, library is clean, contemporary and well organized, the people that go to the library can be somewhat questionable, but hey, you can't have it all!!! I only wanted to check out one book for a project, but this library made me apply for a library card before doing so. It was extremely tedious and not worth the time and effort in my opinion. I ended up doing it anyway and finding my book. However, it's definitely one of the nicer libraries I have visited. The atmosphere is really nice and definitely family friendly. read more

I came this morning to apply for my husbands and sons passport. Everyone was super nice. The gentleman that did our paperwork was great. I didn't get his name. But he was tall, dark, curly short hair. He made Our experience pleasurable . We went the City of Anaheim and they were so rude I would never return there ever again. Very large library. I suggest finding a spot around people you know will be quiet because there's a lot of space and tables. Just avoid the couples and people listening to Snoop Dogg really loud in their headphones. Also, there are a lot of inconsiderate people. The wifi is okay at best. read more

I truly love this library. Most of my encounters with staff have been positive and educational. Always a great selection of current DVDs, older ones as well ... although a few don't play at all well, misused by patrons, not library staff! They only get so much funding for DVDs and new books. Thrilled they don't allow eating any longer, sure people will snack but haven't seen a full rotisserie chicken in there lately. There is a bit of a homeless or transient nesting, but the security guards try to do what they can. Use the library ... there is so much to see, learn, do there! Thank you! read more

Not the greatest literature collection. Lots of Nicholas Sparks, Dan Brown, and other pop authors you can pick up at the supermarket register. Since the city of Fullerton has failed to provide adequate shelter for the homeless, they come here to escape the heat. They are fairly well behaved, few schizophrenic outbursts, but they do tend to leer at young women and bathe in the men's restroom. As a result of this, the men's room permanently stinks of rancid urine. It's a noisy spot where tiger mothers come to loudly scold their studying children. If you're coming to study or read, bring headphones. read more

I have never been so happy with service at a library. Nothing but helpful employees and kind attitudes coming from all parts of the building. DOUBLE THUMBS UP! I will never hesitate to make the stop when in need of a computer or even just have some time to kill. I grew up in Fullerton and I've been here since the Library used to be where the Fullerton Museum is now. Then it moved to the Hunt property and the Hunt property had to shut down because of all the homeless people hanging out there. Now, it is in a beautiful facility next to the City Hall. You would think it would be a nice place to go.....NOT !! I have been going there to study for my State Real Estate Exam for about the last two weeks. The first time I was there, a homeless person sat down opposite me and took out a bunch of stinky food which looked like it came from a dumpster and a bottle of water ( I think ). There were three other people sitting at the computer tables with me. The bum smelled so bad that all of us got up and left the building at the same time. Next time, I came, the entire back wall is filled with homeless people, they talk loud and they have cell phones ?? ( How the heck do they pay for cell phones ?? ) The cells are constantly ringing loudly and when they answer they talk loudly instead of taking the conversation outside. They smell badly and they act as if you don't like it ....too bad attitude. The bathrooms in the library smell disgusting and they are a mess. Does anyone clean it up ? In the following weeks I have gone to the library to try and get some studying done. There is no stopping screaming kids that are running in and out of the children's library part and none of the Library personnel seem to say anything. Today I went to the library and this was the last straw. There is some guy that comes into the library with a laptop and he seems like some Legal Aid Attorney, he loudly "holds court" with homeless people and tells them where to go for government assistance and who to call for this or that that he thinks the person needs. There was some homeless guy who came in and sat down next to me, Mr. "Legal Aid" Attorney brought this woman over to talk with him. They started "Holding Court" right there, talking loud when I couldn't take it any more. I told them both to please take the conversation outside they were disrupting the people around them. She gave me some stupid comment saying, " Well, I just got here". I told her again to please take the conversation outside she was being disruptive". She ignored me and kept on talking to the guy. I got up and went over to talk with the library person at the Information desk and complained to him about what was happening. He "Hemmed and Hawwed" and basically told me there was nothing he can do because they "try and make everybody happy" I said " What ? We who are using the library as it should be used have to put up with this at our expense ? " He then hastily wrote down two people's names that are apparently Library directors and told me to contact them to make a formal complaint. Wow, from reading many of these comments on this site, it does not seem to be doing much good. Taxpayers in this town are getting ripped off and should not have to pay for poor behavior by others or fund the homeless population who seem to feel that the Library is their "home". WIFI is useless. It is -so -slow-. They need to spend a few extra dollars a month to get faster speed. Until then, go somewhere else.

Well, like many other public libraries, the Fullerton Public Library, can become very noisy. But its hours are reasonable for those who need to get some computer work done, etc. It's located off Commonwealth and Highland in Fullerton. It stays open until 9pm M-Th. read more

ugh seriously im sorry but they need to get rid of that old lady with the glasses that works the information desk she is constantly coughing and its a nasty loud cough that she really needs to get checked out because she has had it for a long time and i am always hearing it when shes working its really disruptive like if your sick stay home and keep your germs to yourself.....so gross! read more
