We love this place! It's cash only. The batting cages take quarters. Five pitches for a quarter. There are five machines. Two fast. 74mpg blue one. 64mph red. A 46 mph medium. And a slow one. Those speeds are based of what I was told a while ago. So hopefully I remembered accurately. When ever we are there. We see more people playing mini golf. It's priced really well too. Where in Springfield can you take 3 kids and 2 adults for a full round of putt-putt (miniature golf) for under 10$? Fun Acre of course! :) Today, my boyfriend, Anthony H and I went to Fun Acres with my 2 nieces and nephew. Wow, we had so much fun. I couldn't believe it was still possible to entertain a group of 5 for a couple hours for under 15$! We play 8 holes of putt-putt and then after the miniature golf, checked out the batting cages. The kids said it was the best part of the day! They didn't even notice that the facility is worn down and not as grand as others might be. For such a great price, I didn't either. The boy behind the counter is nice and will supply you with endless quarters for the cages. The only require 0.25 per each round... what a deal! We'll definitely be back. See ya there! read more

25 cents for 5 pitches from a batting cage. Nice. 3 bucks for 18 holes of mini golf, now we are talkin. Fun acre has been giving the people what they want for generations. Family fun that won't break the bank. What a delight. But shucks fellas, you can just tell the establishment has been here for eons. At least slap a real bathroom here instead of that portajohn in the ticket booth. I mean for your own sakes, how many times has someone blown up that toilet and then left you with the consequences.... I don't want that for you. There are probably fancier mini golf places, but I doubt you will find a better value. 2.75?! How can that be? It's a totally decent course. Challenging holes and well kept. I doubt you will find a better time for 2.75 anywhere for anything. read more

The batting cages aren't the greatest, but 25 cents for 5 pitches isn't bad. The mini golf is nothing spectacular, but that's all part of the charm of Fun Acre. read more

Great fun - Low price We found this while in Springfield for MSU family weekend. The course is a throwback to mini golf courses of the 70's. It is in relatively good shape with the putting surface only impaired at some of the seams. Some pretty challenging holes as well. You can't beat the price. read more

This place is a local treasure! The course has been well maintained and the prices make this an affordable outing for even those with the tightest of budgets. Since 4 and under are free, this was a great place to help teach our youngest how to play mini golf and he LOVED all the creative shortcuts on the various holes. I asked the kind gentleman running the booth about how long it's been around and he said the 1970's. However, that also means that you will have the same great time you've always had for the same low price. Dates, family outings, etc; this is the place. For the price of the entertainment this can't be beat for mini golf, & batting cages. MY family of five can spend hours there & that's no small task for kids ages 6, 8, & 10. This place has an 18 hole golf course and 4 batting cages. The golf course looks like it's homemade but still fun... and only $2 to play! But the quarter batting cages is where you have to be. You get 10 balls for only $0.25. I can play here all day. You don't even have to wear a helmet because there are no helmets available, but who cares, I've never gotten hit in the head in the batting cages before. There's no easier way to blow off steam, at least for me, than to go smack a few balls around in the batting cages. And the prices seriously cannot be beat -- $2 for golf, $0.25 for batting cages. This is how mini golf should be. The course actually has the types of holes that are fun to play: ramps, chutes, multi levels, etc. The surface may not be perfect but the style is what matters. And the price! I wish I lived in Springfield to play more often, as I have never come across another mini golf this cheap. The most fun mini golf course I have played. This place is classic. Back in high school, I used to come here twice a week. The prices are unbeatable, and the course layout is way more varied than your standard "putt putt" course. If you're a serious player, you'll want to bring your own putter. Have a great round? I use to take the kids but the last time we went there was a small group of teenagers one of which had an offensive t-shirt with the word f**k on it. My kids are old enough to read and frankly I shouldn't have to expose them to this kind of "free speech". I went to the owner in his shack and asked if he was aware of the shirt and mentioned there were several families with adolescent children playing at the time. He replies it didn't matter to him. In replied that I might have to reconsider whether or not we would return as a family. He says, "It doesn't matter to him he has too much business now!" Really? I was taken totally by surprise.
