I ordered DoorDash. The bao was ok, ive tried better bao. The noodles were mush. Im not sure if i will order again.

The food here was delicious! They have absolutely huge portions. When we walked in they gave us a little dish of peanuts to eat while we waited for our food. My soup came in a very large bowl with a small ladle for a spoon. The broth was very clear and very flavorful. It had a very slight earthy mushroom flavor, and the cilantro on top brightened everything up beautifully. The meat was very tender and sliced very thin. They have a chile oil at the table that was very good. It is spicy, but nothing too crazy, and it has wonderful flavor. Overall it was a great experience!

Good handmade noodles in a well spiced beef soup, steamed dumplings were very good and fresh. Good flavors in everything, perfect temperature and doneness!! Restaurant was very clean. Service was very good.

Food is okay, but not impressive enough for a return visit. The noodles are too thick, too much in one serving. I was disappointed that there was only one pork dish on the menu. The portions are gigantic, but not that flavorable for me. I ended up throwing most of it away when adding hot seasoning didn't make it taste better. Will not return.

Visiting Lubbock and wanted something authentic and not another chain. Fun Noodles didn't disappoint. They have a limited menu but the soup dumplings and Youpu noodles were great. I can eat spicy both the Youpu was another level of hot! Ordered the red bean boas to-go. Good service.

First time in Lubbock and after driving 5.5 hours from San Antonio-had craving for ramen. Uh, forgot I wanted Ramen as I was had a smaller menu, but so excited for the last minute change. Went with the flow. Spicy cucumber salad, beef roll appetizer, kung pao chicken dumplings and need I forget simple small peanuts? Restaurant was welcoming, friends, family, couples and single guys like me. Haha. Spicy cucumber was my fav and took 3 pics? Why? Typically, "dragon oil" can be too spicy and flavor of food is lost. Not here. Absolute perfection-just the right amount of spicy hotness, oil and natural cucumber flavor. Truth-best I ever had. Entire meal was so flavorful, scrumptious and enjoyed every bite. Typically I'll eat a little, look at my phone for whatever then eat again. Nope. Only picked up phone to take pics. Rest of time-in the focus zone of devouring-slowly every morsel. Spontaneity was perfect...so was quick service, happy cheerful staff, and a great first meal and memory of Lubbock. Definitely coming back again this week-to try ramen-haha. Thank you.

Nice and clean spot. The spicy is not very spicy, so be prepared to add chili oil...if that's what you want. The flavors were very good though, very smooth and fresh food. Everything was great!

Fun Noodle Bar is such a pleasant surprise since I find it to be authentic Chinese food. This restaurant is located on 68th and Slide Road, and it's next to Spec's. Parking is easy, and I was able to get a table for myself with no wait time on a weekday evening. The shop is on the smaller side, but it offers quite a bit of seating, and you're able to see fresh noodles prepared in front of you if you sit at the bar. I got the roasted rib pork noodle soup with the pan fried bao, and my food came out quickly. The noodle soup was delicious! The meat was tender, flavorful, and fell off the bone, and it paired so well with the savory broth and fresh, chewy noodles. The pan fried bao were good as well; I wish the filling was juicier/soupier, but that's the only thing that I would really change about the food. I highly recommend checking out this spot!

RATING BREAKDOWN | Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Environment: 4 | Price: 4 | PARKING Fre and ample in a shared plaza lot. LOCATION/AMBIANCE I like the bar area where only a few patrons may sit and watch everything being prepared. THE GRUB + Tonkotsu ramen ($13.99) with chashu - they allowed me to order one bowl for both of my kids (ages 8 and 9) and add extra chashu ($1.75) to their bowl as there are no kid's portions. I wish the chashu was a bit more tender. Regardless, they got the food out as quickly as possible after our long wait. + Their original boba tea ($4.99) was alright. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kids menus or sizes whatsoever. SERVICE Friendly and quick. MY FAVORITE PART... + probably the best (maybe only) ramen-oriented place in the area + separate women's restroom NOT SO FAVORITE PART... - long wait times (write your name on the paper taped to the window of you're dining in) - small restaurant (can only accommodate groups of about 6)

Tonkotsu was pretty good. It was missing like a wow factor but it was such a nice blend of flavors overall.

I think I would have put my review at 4.75 stars if I could. 4.75 because even though the food and atmosphere were great I wish the sweet sesame balls were bigger or priced cheaper because it was like a quill egg size for $6 for 5 of them. The tonkotsu ramen was pretty good it was just a nice soft balance of flavors, just didn't have a wow taste to it. Maybe because I normally like my soft boil eggs to be on the runny side. It was pretty boiled to where the juice of the egg didnt have the chance to flow in the broth. Pros: Any of the baos were extremely delicious. I should have take a photo of them but it was all eaten before I thought about it. Its pretty awesome you can see the food being made at the noodle bar area. Overall for it being Lubbock this was a pretty awesome place.

Stopped in for a late lunch midweek. Seated and served immediately. Loved the steamed pork dumplings. The tonkotsu chasu ramen was tasty but had a strange flavoring to it though. I'll try a fried noodle dish next time.

Only giving a 3 because I don't know if they had a bad day, but they REALLY REALLY OVER dId the cardamom. It was all I could smell and taste. If you have ever bit into a cardamom pod, you know what I am talking about. The broth was disappointing, the ribs were great as were the noodles. Just 1 cardamom pod too many ruined this. read more

I was super excited to try this place because I heard a lot of people say it was good. It's in the same parking lot as SPECS and some other stores so it's always a squeeze getting into a parking spot. There was a wait, they have you put your name on a paper thats on the outside door and they call your cell phone when the table is ready. We waited about 20 minutes. The service wasn't all that great. And the steamed buns weren't what we expected. The food was okay. The staff does wear masks and they are social distancing the tables. I don't think I would come back a second time, but the experience wasn't to bad. read more

My wife and I went here for lunch. Arrived at noon and lots of customers already enjoying lunch. There is limited seating but they had a small table for two that was perfect and we were seated right away. We ordered two appetizers (pork potstickers and steamed beef bao buns) and one entree (ramen with chicken) to share. Everything was delicious! The bao buns were nice and soft and the dipping sauce was delicious! We are definitely going to be coming back to try more menu items! read more

My son and I had a lunch date today and he picked Fun Noodle Bar. Less than 8 hours later, we're already planning our return visit! Everything we had was great...I'll post pics below, but my personal fave was the pork and scallion pan crisped bao and the sesame balls. I could eat a barrel of both. I ate so many bao and sesame balls, I couldn't handle my own ramen, so I pulled out a bit of my son's bowl. It was hard to share that wonderful egg. If you're in Lubbock and haven't tried this spot, stop what you're doing and go NOW! read more

In town from Denver area visiting family. Heard about the Fun Noodle Bar from their neighbors and we decided to give it a try. Arrived a little after the lunch rush and it was still busy. Food did not disappoint. Super tasty and it's very entertaining to watch the "noodle master" perform his art. We had the spicy beef noodle soup, shrimp chow menu, and fried potstickers, all fresh-made. I highly recommend this place if you love noodle soup or ramen. Definitely going back for more potstickers and the fried Bun. read more

Came here because of all the glowing reviews. We must have ordered wrong. We had chili wontons that tasted like they scraped the chili oil from the bottom of a 5 year old bucket. The wontons were bland and mushy and the wonton soup was very meh, no flavor at all. We also ordered pork dumplings. The wrap was thick and mushy and the meat inside was overly salty and mushy. Overall it was very unpleasant. The only thing that we can't complain about is the service. read more

This place is PHENOMENAL! I go at least once a week now. A few of my favorites are the slides pan noodle, sesame balls, boba tea, and the crab ragoons. Very cramped space. Servers were nice but broken English as everyone tried to take our orders. Dumplings is all we ordered. These are made fresh and you see them stuffing and pulling noodles. The dumplings had small amount of filling and the dough was thick. I liked the dough but my lunch date was disappointed. I will go back and try a noodle dish. They were Huge bowls. This is one the most authentic Asian restaurants in Lubbock! I ordered takeout and got the scallion pancake, potstickers, and chashu ramen. I thought all 3 dishes were great! I was very impressed by the ramen broth and the fresh ingredients used. I love that they use hand pulled noodles, and it was fun to see them doing that in the restaurant window. The appetizers are great! Loved it! But the actual entres and food are not. My boyfriend got a pho soup and I got noodle pho (dry) and they both where awful. No flavor at all. I then asked for some broth to see if it would taste better and they charged me $5 for broth. Our server saw our untouched food and still didn't give up a refund. Don't recommend. The ambiance is okay. read more

This was the second time we have gone since they opened. We are so impressed! Everything we have ordered is great! Our favorites so far are black garlic ramen and the bao. The tonkotsu, steamed dumplings, and spicy wonton also did not disappoint. The service was a little slow the first time (opening week so it's understandable) but was much faster this time. Seriously can't say enough good things! read more

Quite literally loved it. Food was gasss (very good). I loved the bao pan seared dumplings and both ramens were good, but I definitly preferred the tonkatsu. The spicy wontons were good but probably wouldn't get them again because I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce it came in. I will definitely be coming back read more

The seats on the booths are very ripped up and sine have tape on them and some don't. The employees told the people in front of us not to bother putting a tip if they were using a card because it wouldn't go to them but to the company. They only get the cash tips! The employees were very polite and if I would have known that I would have made sure I had cash for the tip.

I've had better eggs foo young in other restaurants , I ordered the shrimp egg foo young when I…read morereceived it in other places it had three egg patties and whatever protein was ordered it was cooked into the egg itself which makes it taste the way it does the gravy which is the sauce is always in a separate container so you can pour it on when necessary. This time I received my order and they had little pieces of shrimp lying on top of the food itself with the gravy already on the plate disgusting it's not the way it should be done I will not be going back to this place again, even when you take it out it should not look like that

Boy are we glad we did! The restaurant is very quaint and clean, the service was GREAT, and the food was AMAZING. We had egg rolls, egg drop soup, Pork Egg Fu Young and Shrimp with Lobster sauce. The food was so good we ordered more egg fu young and an order of Almond Chicken to take home. The shrimp was so fresh and the chicken was tasty. I love how they put thin slices of pork on top of the egg fu young with the gravy. That way you can taste the wonderful, fluffy texture of the egg fu young patties and enjoy the meat on the side. We live 2 hours away but plan on going back again very soon, I will definitely drive 2 hours just to eat there.

We had to call them to tell them we were there to pick up our order after standing at the door like some kind of hungry animal for 5 minutes. Just chilling. On the sidewalk. Like it was the depot destrict at 2am. IYKYK It still doesn't take away from the food - we're all just going through some really weird supply chain inflation post covid BS and people are trying to stay afloat. I get that. I hope whatever they choose to do, it helps them keep going. Because having those spring rolls right up the road is a BONUS for me. And obviously I want to see people thrive; I don't want to lose one more mom and pop because of all this unnecessary madness. Finally, the evening started with drinks- my choice, an espresso martini. At the bar, the lady asked if I wanted "creamy and sweet" and I said "neither"-- what she gave me was AMAZING! She said if I reordered at the table later to say the same to our waiter, with my name. I did, and ... yikes- not even close to the same flavor. Overall, we love coming here for the atmosphere and waitstaff, but the consistency in quality of food keeps regressing. It truly makes me sad.

As we walked in, there were 3 staff members: a lady working the register, the older Korean gentleman (the presumed heart of the restaurant), and another cook. Once we placed the order, the 2 men in the back sat up and went to the fryers immediately to lock in. Fried chicken takes its time and unlike a chain like Popeyes and KFC who can have legs, breasts, and wings ready at the drop of a hat, Kokio only makes what's needed per order. This means there is a longer wait for the food. As we sat and waited for our food, multiple to-go and presumed DoorDash drivers came in and had a similar wait to us. The time seemed to crawl as we waited, but once the order came out and I took my first bite, all was well. I ordered their Wings Plate which came with 5 wings, fries, and some coleslaw. I upgraded my fries to waffle fries for the vibes and they were worthwhile. For the wings, I got them tossed in the Honey Bee sauce. They were smooth and sweet while having a slight kick. The crisp on the chicken was insane and had an earth shattering rumble as you took a bite. It's one of those meals you go silent after your first bite and don't say anything until your last. The half chicken was a bit too greasy and has a thick batter but its flavor is pretty solid. Lots of food for the price, you can probably share.
