I ordered DoorDash. The bao was ok, ive tried better bao. The noodles were mush. Im not sure if i will order again.

The food here was delicious! They have absolutely huge portions. When we walked in they gave us a little dish of peanuts to eat while we waited for our food. My soup came in a very large bowl with a small ladle for a spoon. The broth was very clear and very flavorful. It had a very slight earthy mushroom flavor, and the cilantro on top brightened everything up beautifully. The meat was very tender and sliced very thin. They have a chile oil at the table that was very good. It is spicy, but nothing too crazy, and it has wonderful flavor. Overall it was a great experience!

Good handmade noodles in a well spiced beef soup, steamed dumplings were very good and fresh. Good flavors in everything, perfect temperature and doneness!! Restaurant was very clean. Service was very good.

Food is okay, but not impressive enough for a return visit. The noodles are too thick, too much in one serving. I was disappointed that there was only one pork dish on the menu. The portions are gigantic, but not that flavorable for me. I ended up throwing most of it away when adding hot seasoning didn't make it taste better. Will not return.

Visiting Lubbock and wanted something authentic and not another chain. Fun Noodles didn't disappoint. They have a limited menu but the soup dumplings and Youpu noodles were great. I can eat spicy both the Youpu was another level of hot! Ordered the red bean boas to-go. Good service.

First time in Lubbock and after driving 5.5 hours from San Antonio-had craving for ramen. Uh, forgot I wanted Ramen as I was had a smaller menu, but so excited for the last minute change. Went with the flow. Spicy cucumber salad, beef roll appetizer, kung pao chicken dumplings and need I forget simple small peanuts? Restaurant was welcoming, friends, family, couples and single guys like me. Haha. Spicy cucumber was my fav and took 3 pics? Why? Typically, "dragon oil" can be too spicy and flavor of food is lost. Not here. Absolute perfection-just the right amount of spicy hotness, oil and natural cucumber flavor. Truth-best I ever had. Entire meal was so flavorful, scrumptious and enjoyed every bite. Typically I'll eat a little, look at my phone for whatever then eat again. Nope. Only picked up phone to take pics. Rest of time-in the focus zone of devouring-slowly every morsel. Spontaneity was perfect...so was quick service, happy cheerful staff, and a great first meal and memory of Lubbock. Definitely coming back again this week-to try ramen-haha. Thank you.

Nice and clean spot. The spicy is not very spicy, so be prepared to add chili oil...if that's what you want. The flavors were very good though, very smooth and fresh food. Everything was great!

Fun Noodle Bar is such a pleasant surprise since I find it to be authentic Chinese food. This restaurant is located on 68th and Slide Road, and it's next to Spec's. Parking is easy, and I was able to get a table for myself with no wait time on a weekday evening. The shop is on the smaller side, but it offers quite a bit of seating, and you're able to see fresh noodles prepared in front of you if you sit at the bar. I got the roasted rib pork noodle soup with the pan fried bao, and my food came out quickly. The noodle soup was delicious! The meat was tender, flavorful, and fell off the bone, and it paired so well with the savory broth and fresh, chewy noodles. The pan fried bao were good as well; I wish the filling was juicier/soupier, but that's the only thing that I would really change about the food. I highly recommend checking out this spot!

OVERALL Fun Noodle Bar was a good find particularily on a rainy day (10/10/2022) in Lubbock. RATING BREAKDOWN | Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Environment: 4 | Price: 4 | PARKING Fre and ample in a shared plaza lot. LOCATION/AMBIANCE I like the bar area where only a few patrons may sit and watch everything being prepared. THE GRUB + Tonkotsu ramen ($13.99) with chashu - they allowed me to order one bowl for both of my kids (ages 8 and 9) and add extra chashu ($1.75) to their bowl as there are no kid's portions. I wish the chashu was a bit more tender. Regardless, they got the food out as quickly as possible after our long wait. + Their original boba tea ($4.99) was alright. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB No kids menus or sizes whatsoever. SERVICE Friendly and quick. MY FAVORITE PART... + probably the best (maybe only) ramen-oriented place in the area + separate women's restroom NOT SO FAVORITE PART... - long wait times (write your name on the paper taped to the window of you're dining in) - small restaurant (can only accommodate groups of about 6)

Tonkotsu was pretty good. It was missing like a wow factor but it was such a nice blend of flavors overall.

I think I would have put my review at 4.75 stars if I could. 4.75 because even though the food and atmosphere were great I wish the sweet sesame balls were bigger or priced cheaper because it was like a quill egg size for $6 for 5 of them. The tonkotsu ramen was pretty good it was just a nice soft balance of flavors, just didn't have a wow taste to it. Maybe because I normally like my soft boil eggs to be on the runny side. It was pretty boiled to where the juice of the egg didnt have the chance to flow in the broth. Pros: Any of the baos were extremely delicious. I should have take a photo of them but it was all eaten before I thought about it. Its pretty awesome you can see the food being made at the noodle bar area. Overall for it being Lubbock this was a pretty awesome place.

Stopped in for a late lunch midweek. Seated and served immediately. Loved the steamed pork dumplings. The tonkotsu chasu ramen was tasty but had a strange flavoring to it though. I'll try a fried noodle dish next time.

This place is a hidden gem. We have visited this establishment for at least four times, and each time we were amazed to see how they made noodles and dumplings. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. We have had everything from chow mein to Wong tong soup. Their dumplings are awesome and the Bao is also tasty. They always say the best restaurants are in small packages. This one fits the bill. read more

OMG LUBBOCK DOESN'T DESERVE AN AMAZING PLACE LIKE THIS. It's seriously the best Asian restaurant in town. THEY HAND PULL THE NOODLES. That's f****** amazing. The bao is great and the chow mein makes everyone else's low mein look and taste like garbage. I came for lunch and I'll be back for dinner! read more

OMG! Ive always been half afraid to try ramen because ive only ever had the 10 for a dollar type poor college students get. That kind is so salty! But this, REAL ramen, is freakin' fantastic! And the portions are... Texas sized! Im so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new! And that I skipped lunch, cause dadgum! Im so dang full! I couldn't finish it. I will absolutely be back. I got the (Taka- something) combo ramen with pan fried pork dumplings. Every ingredient had a distinct taste that blended really well with all the other items. The broth was amazing, distinct, and incredibly flavorful. I've never had black fungus before but I loved it - garlicky but not over poweringly so. I'm not sure what the bamboo or egg was marinated in but d@mn! And the sauce the dumplings were served with... holy Toledo! Usually you can say, oh that's sweet, or spicy, acidic or whatever, but geez Louise! I guess that's "umami" that I keep hearing about on tv. You gotta try this place, seriously. Yeah it's a little more expensive than the fast food Chinese food chain stores, but it's still fast but sooooo much better. What are you waiting for? Go! Go now! You will NOT regret it! read more

The noodles were fresh, but were somewhat gummy. It may be the way the Chinese like them, but I thought that they didn't have the amount of spice and freshness that American tastes usually prefer. The dumplings were good, and the eggrolls were good I ordered carry out. The service was friendly the strip mall shop was clean and was well attended. It looks like a great place for lunch. read more

This is a small place with not a lot of seating. Be prepared to order take out if they're busy, which I suspect is most of the time. The menu isn't huge, and there isn't a kid's menu, but what they have is very good. The portions are big too. I ordered the crab fried rice, and told my husband we could share next time. However, I changed my mind. The fried rice was delicious and maybe even better the next day as leftovers. Although the crab Rangoon seemed a bit high priced, the pieces are large, and stuffed full. They might be the best I've ever had. Service was friendly and speedy. We will go back often. read more

The food was pretty good, especially for takeout noodle soup. We got the Pork Noodle Soup, Beef Noodle Soup, and red bean bao. The pork and beef noodle soup were pretty legit. The red bean bao was slightly disappointing. The red bean was slightly dry. It would've been better if it was smoother and wetter in texture. Other than that, it was pretty good. This place. OH MY GOD THIS PLACE. I had good friends introduce me to Fun Noodle bar one evening about two weeks ago. Since then, my life has been forever changed. Truly. How many times have I eaten there in the last two weeks, you ask? FIVE. I write this as I am perusing the menu for my lunch order. One meal better than the last. The beef roll. Amazing. The bahn. Amazing. The cucumber salad. To die for. THE NOODS. Shiiiiiit they're spectacular. And the Spicy wontons. Perfection. The online ordering is fast and easy. They text you when it's ready. (Mines never taken more than 20-25 during peak lunch hour) and you just walk in and grab it and go. The people are super nice and it's so fun to watch the chefs stretch the noodles. This place is heaven. read more

However after eating we were asked to leave because they had a wait which is understandable but at the same time it felt extremely rushed. We order take out all the time from here online. Our must have is the beef pan seared bao buns. I could eat their chili oil on everything and cherish the leftovers for other meals throughout the week. I also usually order the lo mein. We tried everything on the menu and haven't disliked anything. The ramen is packaged well for take out and doesn't get soggy. My order has never been wrong and the accompanying sauces are always included too. I appreciate their attention to those details. read more

Came back to Fun Noodle for our second time. It was not disappointing! We tried to crab meat fried rice which was absolutely amazing! I definitely recommend trying a plate. We also ordered the steamed beef Bao, and the pan fried pork Bao, both were so so good but our favorite was the steamed pork Bao which we tried previously. I am so happy we found this little gem of a restaurant and we will for sure be back! read more

I've been to this place 3 times dine-in and 1 time take out. The food is pretty authentic. The portion is very good. The servers are ok, not as friendly as they are dealing with Americans. Maybe as they see us Asian too, they didn't put up smiles and didn't serve that much. But I always give 20%-25% tips, mostly for the food. The place is always packed, we had to waited a little bit to get the table. But I did felt unfair for the first time there. They told us to wait outside due to social distance and limited capacity during COVID-19 time, which I did understand and waited outside. But! As we went in, there are more customers came (not Asian), the servers didn't really ask them to wait outside and just walked them in with no limited capacity maintained like they told us. But, I would still come for the food. Just not the service, as very typical for Asian restaurants. read more

Lubbock was sorely in need of a good noodle place to open up. Somewhere to put these other "noodle places" in check - and the day has finally come. Fun Noodle opened up after plenty of waiting and it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. The space was reminiscent of a classic noodle shop where half of the room is dedicated to workers creating noodle masterpieces behind a bar and the other half for customers to wait in eagerness. The menu isn't massive, which is refreshing, and everything is accessible for both experienced foodies and new explorers. My wife and I each ordered tonkatsu ramen, a pork-based soup, and the fried dumplings. I mean what else can I say but "wow." This ramen is leagues above the rest of the competition in Lubbock; full bodied broth, homemade noodles, plentiful toppings, buttery chashu, and the portion is massive. The dumplings were, likewise, deeply comforting and made with all fresh ingredients. They also serve boba tea, although we didn't have the room to order any. Consider stopping by Fun Noodle for your next lunch/dinner out - I guarantee you won't be disappointed. read more

If you love fresh made from scratch pasta or rice dishes this is the place and the portions are huge I always bring food home with me and enjoy it almost as much as the frost day. The service is very good and they bring you what ever you need. It can be a little cold if you are to close to the front door read more

My family and I absolutely LOVE Fun Noodle bar! We have tried almost everything on the menu and everything is delicious! My personal favorite is the spicy beef noodle soup with pan fried pork bao. My husband lives for the black garlic noodles. You can't go wrong eating in the restaurant or ordering online for pick up. I have done both many times! The quality and taste just can't be beat. read more

The takoyai wasn't very good and the calamari also wasn't great but the sauce saved it a little. We also tried the white peach sake which didn't taste like alcohol at all. The hot teas and sodas are refills as well. Service was nice and the interior is very pretty and modern.

This market is small, but very well organized. Aisles are wide enough to allow 2 shoppers and carts to pass each other. The market makes sense - with like items from all cultures together. We came looking for some favorite snacks and left with instant pho, several kinds of snacks, a cool new bento box, some replacement chopsticks and utensils, two kinds of sesame oil tuna we have not seen in DFW, awesome octopus and seaweed snacks, Japanese chocolate, and spiffy cookies. Nothing too weird to freak out the in-laws (although you can find that here). Checking out was quick and efficient, and there are lots of employees here to assist with finding things and restocking quickly as shoppers load up on their favorites. 5 Asian food lifeline in Lubbock stars!

As we walked in, there were 3 staff members: a lady working the register, the older Korean gentleman (the presumed heart of the restaurant), and another cook. Once we placed the order, the 2 men in the back sat up and went to the fryers immediately to lock in. Fried chicken takes its time and unlike a chain like Popeyes and KFC who can have legs, breasts, and wings ready at the drop of a hat, Kokio only makes what's needed per order. This means there is a longer wait for the food. As we sat and waited for our food, multiple to-go and presumed DoorDash drivers came in and had a similar wait to us. The time seemed to crawl as we waited, but once the order came out and I took my first bite, all was well. I ordered their Wings Plate which came with 5 wings, fries, and some coleslaw.
