Bought a camper from here & it was full of dust inside and outside. Within the first week our plugs and fridge are already not working. Not blaming this dealership, but it probably should've been inspected more. This isn't my first new camper to purchase, so I expected a little more. My previous camper was thoroughly cleaned before leaving the lot and nothing broke before the first year of owning it. Purchased a Brand New fifth wheel and I'm pretty sure the PDI was never actually complete by the technician. Slide outs don't work properly, the roof was leaking water through my ceiling speakers. The thermostats don't work properly. Sky light is cracked, several door frames are damaged, kitchen faucet leaks ,trim was not secure inside. The first time I dropped my trailer off they had possession of it for 6 weeks. I picked it up just to turn around and drop it back off. This time it has been 5 weeks and we are still waiting for parts? This trailer should have never been sold! The trailer has way more issues than I have mentioned in this review. There are WAY better places to buy from, do NOT fall for their sales tricks. Once they get you in a camper they do not care how long or about the issues that arise even with a warranty. The finance, service department is a joke. We have taken our brand new camper back SEVERAL times and San Angelo is more than an 1 1/2 drive from us, only to continue finding issues. I even wrote a BBB complaint and these guys tried to lie to me about conversations they claimed to have with my husband, That never took place and minimize the large problem we had with the camper. not only did they take forever and treat our camper like crap they had the nerve to try and offer a low ball price to buy it back and it's literally a few MONTHS old. WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP -- OUR FAMILY'S LIFE WAS PUT AT RISK 1. Sales Promises & Deception From the beginning, our salesman Tim pushed the sale aggressively, telling us they were experienced with Canadians, understood the process, and would help handle the process. That was false. Harold, the sales manager, repeatedly raised the trade-in price for our current trailer only to push us to close the deal. Then we were suddenly handed off to JR and never heard from Tim again. Once we put a deposit down on the rig, all communication and competence immediately collapsed. 2. Zero Knowledge About Canadian/International Deals For weeks and months, we had to chase basic information. Emails took days and weeks to receive answers. Every question had to go through Kirby, the corporate decision maker, which took an average of 1 to 2 weeks to receive answers. There was never any cohesion between what the dealership would tell us vs what corporate would say. And after this experience, Kirby is the least compassionate and competent person. No one understood the process, and we ended up doing all the work through the county and broker while the dealership, especially corporate, repeatedly slowed things down or gave incorrect information. We finally paid for the rig in full -- because corporate insisted that was the only way they would let us pick it up later while we sorted out the paperwork. 3. Threats to Cancel the Deal After They Already Had Our Money After months of delays, we crossed the border in October to finalize the deal -- only to be threatened again with cancellation of the deal. Even the San Angelo sheriff's office, the county tax registrar, and our broker confirmed that everything we were doing was correct, and the dealership still had no understanding of the process. We ended up forced to stay an extra month in Texas -- at our own cost -- because Kirby refused to proceed with the trade and purchase without a physical paper title even though legally we had everything in place. 4. The Day Everything Became Dangerous After nearly five months of chaos, we finally arrived for the trade-in. They completed the walkthrough, and multiple staff members asked us again for 5-star reviews -- before we even hitched up. And then the real nightmare began. HITCHING FAILED IMMEDIATELY -- TWICE -- AND THEY STILL SENT US OFF THE PROPERTY Salesmen attempted to help us hitch because the service department was busy. Nothing was working. Our hitch pulled back, the new rig slammed into our truck bed, and the hitch head spun. We made it clear: this has NEVER happened in four years of towing. They touched our hitch, our pinbox, and took responsibility to "fix it." They told us to move our belongings into the new rig--five hours in the dark and rain--only for the same thing to happen again that night: rig sliding backward, hitting the truck, unable to maneuver. They watched a video and tightened one bolt, saying everything was safe. We trusted their word. We had a baby who needed to sleep, food in the fridge, and no choice but to believe them. 5. The Incident That Could Have Killed Us We left the next morning for Austin. Three hours later -- 20 minutes from our destination -- the exact same failure happened again. The hitch head spun. The jaws locked. The trailer slammed the truck bed. And we were stranded on the side of a major highway, with our baby in the truck. Our hitch requires a capture plate to function safely. NOT ONCE were we asked if we had one. NOT ONCE were we told we needed one. Steven -- the service manager -- even texted us a photo of our old rig's capture plate the night before, knowing it wouldn't work with the new pinbox, and still never warned us. Multiple technicians we spoke to afterward were horrified. Every single one of them immediately asked: "Where's your capture plate?" The heavy wrecker driver with nearly 30 years of experience said he had never seen a dealer allow customers off the property like that, and that we were lucky to be alive. He also said, unequivocally, that Fun Town RV should be paying 100% of the costs. 6. The Aftermath & Their Refusal to Help We told the dealership what happened -- ironically, during another request for a 5-star review. JR immediately admitted they missed it. Customer service admitted they missed it. Even Jay, the general manager, admitted on the phone that: once their staff touched our hitch and performed "fixes," they were liable. Yet after taking our case to corporate (Kirby), we were told: "We will not cover your costs." "It is not our responsibility." We weren't even asking for much -- only $2,500 to cover the tow, hotel, and emergency expenses caused entirely by their negligence. They refused everything. Not even an apology. Not even acknowledgment that their team put our lives at risk. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!!! No price is worth your safety, your time, your money, or your life!! read more

As 1st time RV buyers we were thrilled to be approved for an RV. I admit I was not intellectual in interest and etc. We were approved at 17.95% and yes I do know that's based on my credit. but, the unit was only 21,000.00 and after interest and the term I would've paid almost $60,000.00 and that's with putting $5,000.00 down. My complaint is with not being told and or aware of an extended warranty that I had. With that information I would've probably not had to pay $500.00 X3 for things that broke down over time with my RV. My VSC has since expired and gone to waste that cost me about $3,500.00. Great customer service! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. We went to two other places in San Angelo to get ideas on prices and inventory. Fun town RV by far has the best prices, inventory and wonderful staff that went above and beyond every step of the way. As we were doing research and comparing prices the sales person was very patient and printed out a few quotes for us with the monthly payments. He showed us all the RVs in our price range, we went back and forth between different ones and he was very patient driving us around in his golf cart (thanks Ian!!!) Once we had picked the RV that was perfect for us the finance manager was able to get the financing with the monthly payment that we were looking for. The process was quick and we were able to set up a time the next day to get a walk through of the RV. Let me start by saying this place has amazing inventory. We were in the market for a Crusader with a rear kitchen and they had one! We were an easy sell so not much work needed to be done on the salesman's part...which was good because had we needed someone to push us into something the man we worked with would not have been the best choice. Here's a good one. The salesman actually emailed me congratulating me on having the rig for 3 years.

They are really good at selling you a very expensive 5th wheel ($80k) but the moment the sale is closed you're screwed. The day we showed up to pick it up (Sept 2017) the issues began. They clearly hadn't done a walk through on it to prepare it because the door was broken and there we a couple of electrical issues. There was no way to get the door fixed immediately so we had to drive it off as is. We had to fight tooth and nail to get them to bring a door and install even though they had promised this when we picked up. Now we are 10 months into ownership and more problems have occurred (issues that make it unlivable)- called to get a service appointment and they won't fit us in for many weeks. Thank goodness we bought the diamond extended warranty. Do not go here if you want to be taken care of after your sale. The service is incredibly crappy! read more

We bought an RV from Fun Town about 7 months ago. Once we got set up, we had the usual ironing out of small things to take care of. You can't buy a mobile vacation home and not have one of the thousands of parts to fail every now and then. The waiting list to get work done is about 6 weeks so we called and got put on the waiting list. We had 7 items that needed to be addressed/repaired. You never know how long repairs are going to take and since we are living in our RV while waiting to get our new home, we had to get a hotel and wait. The wait was almost exactly 24 hours. I dropped it off at 9:30 on the appointed morning and gave them a list of the issues. I was called at noon the next day, all the repairs were completed. No problems. All covered by the warranty, no hassle what-so-ever. Some of the best service we've ever had anywhere. read more

He felt (obviously) that he wasted his time with us. Paulie (salesman) is this most arrogant and unprofessional person that I have ever had to deal with. We will NEVER buy an RV from this place. He tried to show us on his phone that he had the #1 sales in Texas last year. Why should we care about this? I purchased a new RV in early October 2019 and have had 2 major flooding issues related to manufacturers defects in the plumbing. Instead of replacing my new RV with something comparable the instead tricked in the financing part and wrote it up as a trade in. So I would be responsible for the depreciation and my down payment gone. So I would take the major hit on flood damage on the inside and the other that flooded my underbelly. They are highly unethical and are attempting to profit from my troubles due to me wanting to get out of my flooded camper. They kick you when your down and do not stand by their product. It's all $$$$ and no ethics with that group. The interior flood was so bad the park ranger called me from the park I was at and said he man you got water coming out of your belly all over the place. After reading all of the negative reviews online as I typically do when purchasing anything I can tell you I was very hesitant on buying a RV from FunTown in San Angelo, Tx. I called them up on a 2018 Rockwood WindJammer 3006WK they had for sale online. I was able to speak with David Martinez (RV Dave) and explained my situation due to the fact I had a trade in that I wanted to get out of. I was a bit impatient in the beginning as I always am and feel like I am the only customer they have at any given time, well I wasn't and they accommodated me the best they could everytime I would call. The paperwork, trade and pickup was very straightforward and I was pleased with the help I received. The only issues I had was a 751 keyed lock was not working from the factory and the warranty paperwork has been started per Rudy and I would have a new lock in 2 weeks. Also, after turning on the hot water heater (correctly) I only had warm water, so I googled and found the bypass valve on the water heater was open from the factory a simple turn to the off position and I was in business! I have owned several Rv's in my life and can tell you your best friend is GOOGLE! Nine times out of ten it's a simple fix and you're back in business. My wife and I purchased a 28' Kodak. Our salesmen's name was Ernest and it was his first day. Well, we settled on a price and payment. Walking into finance to learn that that deal isn't possible... he blamed Ernest being new. The Finance guy stuck to Ernest's deal but didn't like it. We also purchased an extended warranty, that will do us no good, because the extended warranty company is for a vehicle and not for a Travel trailer... I sure wasted a day or 2 on that one. We drove 2 hrs to pick up our travel trailer on June 14, 2017 in San Angelo to sit and wait most of the day for a walk thru that was no help at all. the guy that did the walk thru had better things to do then to show us our travel trailer. He was very unprofessional. We took it on one trip to find a lot of problem with it. No big deal... its under warranty. I call to set up an appointment July 1, they cant get to it until Aug 16th. Ok, I understand they're busy. I dropped it off Aug 16th and was told parts are on order. I finally decided to pick it up Nov. 1 Fixed or not... It was magical fixed that day. After getting it home to find that the electrical issues were back and the lifting jack was inop. I posted the trailer for sale and will never return to Funtown RV again. read more

We purchased our RV in August 2018. The salesman, Frankie Juarez, was excellent and sale went smoothly. Upon inspection he/we noticed a stain like spot on the ceiling. We were asked to bring it back so they could change out the panel. We brought it back the beginning of December 2018. The service clerk, Ashley told us it would be 3 to 4 weeks. December, January, February came and went and the whole time I called and my boyfriend called and could never get this Ashley person in the service department to call us back to even give us an update on it. In March I called the service manager, who apparently quit a week or so after. I then spoke to Charles, the new service manager. He stated they had gotten the wrong ceiling panel in but it would take about a week and it would be complete, I asked if someone would call us. He stated they would but of course never heard anything. I called last week and spoke with Hector, the general manager. He was pleasant and actually did call me back to let me know what was going on. I explained the situation and our frustration with the lack of customer service. This Ashley could of at least called us back to let us know something but never responded to either of us. He stated they had been short handed, which I can understand but it takes 2 minutes to make a call, text or even email just to let us know the status. We purchased this RV to use it not have it sitting in the sun rotting in their lot. We keep it covered at our home. This was Thursday and he stated it would be ready by mid Friday. I explained we were going to pick it up on Saturday. We live 2 hours away from the dealership which adds to our frustration. He stated it would be ready and he stated it would be cleaned and washed. When we dropped it off in early December it was spotless and waxed. We drove to San Angelo and arrived at about noon, called and Hector stated they needed more time, so we wandered around town for two more hours. We show up to the lot and have to wait another hour. It looked like they were just then working on it. This Ashley person was cleaning the inside he stated. Granted it had rained that day, the RV looked like it had not been washed at all. The inside was dirty as well. The containers we had in the cabinets were thrown on our table. It looked like someone had ransacked the inside, it looked awful on the inside. We were very upset but ready to get out of there and return home. Hector, again cordial continued to make excuses for Ashley. There was no excuse for her rudeness and lack of customer service. If they call what our RV looked like clean, I can imagine what their homes look like. We will never buy another RV from this location again and we will make sure to recommend no one we know buys there as well. We will never do business with this company again , this is the email I sent to the sales department , general manager and service manager. I am sending a email so I can make sure that I include everything that needs to be said. The list of problems when we got where we where going with the rv 1. The fuse blew every single time we tired to use the slide out or stabilizer jack 2. There where no tools for the manual slide out or the stabilizer , so my husband had to use a pair of pliers . 3. The fridge would not switch to propane, then it went completely out. 4. The shower leaked into the floor, the handles were lose and the hose leaked . 5. We found out the the toung jack wasnt working before we ever arrived the first time and was replaced . It took us two years to decide to purchase a new rv. It then took another six months to find one we both liked and we choose your company to make our purchase. When we came to pick up the rv on 6/9/18, we where very excited. We where extremely disappointed when we got where we where going and had problem after problem . So my husband had to take his only days off the drive back to San Angelo which is a 3 hour trip for us one way to take this brand new rv back for multiple repairs on 6-16-18. We also incurred all the fuel costs, a motel room and our time. We were assured these problems would be fixed . I spoke with Jessica Tims on Friday 6-22-18 and we where assured every problem had been fixed. (except for a blind that wasn't broken when we dropped it off) So on Sat 6-23-18 we made yet another trip to San Angelo to pick up our rv once again one my husbands only days off (which we should have been going to the lake , had the service department and techs actually done their jobs in the first place ) and might I add we incurred all fuel costs once again. When we got there the shower wasn't even fixed!!!!! we had to wait over and hour for this problem to be fixed when it was on the list of things wrong!! I was given the excuse that your techs where new!! Thats not really my problem. We where not happy , I can't think of a customer who would be, We where told every single problem had been fixed... NOPE!!!!! When we got to the deer lease the back stabilizer jack blew the fuse yet again!!! This problem was on the list!! We replaced the fuse , drove home and guess what IT BLEW AGAIN!!! Which mostly likely means a electrical short somewhere , or your tech most likely hooked something up wrong.So it seems to me very few of the problems we brought it in for were even addressed or FIXED!!! Terrible customer service. Major lack of communication and even what you do get is basically an attempt to satisfy you long enough to end the call with no follow up. I'ts easier to drive 2 hours and surprise them than to actually have a phone conversation. Time frames do not apply to this company. Ordered parts are never actually ordered. Oh and if you spend $85,000 on a brand new unit use it 8 days and find out the shower drain was never connected, the water heater is leaking, the toilet drain is actually just a pilot hole never punched out, hydraulic levels are leaking, belly is filled to the brim with water and sagging because of shower drain not being connected...yes the belly where all of your electrical is. Floor in kitchen is soaked due to water heater leak and laminate is starting to bubble...and somehow I'm still expected to pay 85,000 on a salvaged unit!! We drove 1 1/2hrs to look at a toy hauler, only for Collin Hanna to stop responding the next day, because he made up his own mind, we couldn't afford the $3500 difference between our offer, and what the manager, Mike, came up with. It's a shame! Mike, the manager, is no better! He kept wanting to pull my credit to "give me a better deal", and kept saying how he couldn't help us until that happen! I refused until we could agree on a number. We've always had our own financing, with our credit union! Once he found out what my husband did for a living, he raised the price $10k! I told them, had they reached out to me instead of assuming, we'd be signing papers on a $80k camper. Your loss, funtown, not the first time we've been treated like crap...thought a different location, and a second chance, we'd have a better experience!
