So imagine my delight when I found out there was one down the street from my job. I was looking for weights, dumbells to be specific. I didn't want to pay full price. I remembered that PIAS had dumbbells back in the day. I called and a nice gentleman, Mike, told me they were open and they had weights. I came in around 6:30pm. They were assisting another customer so I waited patiently with my mask on. More about that later. I inquired why one set of dumbbells were more than others(not weight related). Mike said the insulated black weights are commercial grade and the iron ones are not. The iron weights are at or around $1.45 a pound and the commercials grade is $2.00 a pound. Great information and it allowed me to make an informed decision. I bought a pair of 15# & 25#. There on signs on the weights that clearly show the prices. After Mike rang up the sale, as a courtesy he carted the product to my SUV and put them in the way back. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they weren't wearing masks and didn't require masks. They did have a sign outside saying they clean thoroughly and recommended we practice safe distancing. Other than that they have great selections for baseball, cleats. Golf and workout equipment. I will be back. You can sell your unused sports equipment to them. Just call ahead first before you lug it out of storage.

With four sons it's kind of hard no to be coaxed into "just a minute, I swear" stops. Although I wouldn't shop for myself in this store, the staff is always friendly, the store is always hoppin' and the kids are drawn to it; not just mine, but lots of skater-types. Recently my husband and I visited Zumiez while Christmas shopping. We have 6 yr-old twins, who like their older siblings, want to skate. based on their size, skills, abilities, etc. Damien was able to knowledgeably assist us with choosing the right size board, the trucks we should get, etc to assure a safe ride and a good fit for the boys. Michelle assisted us with sizing the boys for helmets to ensure that they were fitted securely and that we would have the right size pads and gear for the boys as well. While talking to Michelle, we were discussing a problem we have with one of my sons' surf boards too and being that she surfs, she was happy to provide us some insight on who may be able to help us. etc. Good information to know! Groovy Records also sells new and used turntables, guitars, basses, ukuleles, amp's, music accessories such as guitar strings, banners, other memorabilia, and a variety of instructional music books for piano, guitar, and other instruments. I found a few used CDs in decent condition (with original inserts) for $1 each, which is a great deal. I'm not a Vinyl collector, mainly because I just don't have the room to store them. One thing I noticed while I was here is that two of my all-time favorite bands, Mercyful Fate and Iron Maiden Vinyls were a bit pricy. I'm not sure if it's because they are from the original production during that era or if they are just hard to come by. Mercyful Fate's Don't Break the Oath is selling for $175 and Melissa is selling for $150. Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast is selling for $100. Damn, I'm a big fan, but I couldn't justify spending that much money on a Vinyl. Alternatively, not everything here is that expensive. They are selling many other great Vinyl's in the $10-$20 price range. If you are shopping in the area, I definitely recommend stopping in to see if you can find a deal.
