A group of us from the Connery, which is a 55 and over community took the Grinch funny bus tour. It was fabulous. Everyone had such a good time. There was lots of laughter and lots of great fellowship. The gentleman that played the Grinch was outstanding. He had so many quick and clever comebacks that just kept us laughing all night long. I highly recommend this and I will attend again. I am not sure what he expected when a 55 and over community booked the tour but I think he enjoyed us just as much as we enjoyed him.

Nearby store there in cahoots with. Get all the wine you want. They have corks on the bus.

All the alcohol you can drink before getting arrested. A bus full of people doing the same thing. All looking to laugh. A comedian giving you a tour of the city on a 90-minute excursion. This is such an investment. If I had money I will put one of these in every major city. Our comedian was JJ. He was hilarious. There's also a stop at the halfway mark if you want to go get some more alcohol or some trinkets. Whoever thought of the thought of everything. There is a place down the street from where the bus leaves that has excellent restaurants and a beer and wine store that has everything. While we were in there waiting for the excursion we ran in to get a bottle of wine. They said they get people from the funny bus all the time. But there were 30 people being seated at a table with several wine connoisseurs explaining to them the different wines they're about to taste. This whole block was screaming date night. Trains coming back and forth to drop you off if needed. I keep falling in love with the city. It never lets me down. I recommend a funny bus to people who actually live in charlotte. Is that good of a time. By the time we got off the bus our chest was hurting for so much laughing and feeling so enchanted from the alcohol. Lol. I will definitely be back on my next visit. Just because. A lot of people don't know what to expect so the second half of the trip is the best. The alcohol gets flowing and the jokes land way better.

Moved to Charlotte in April & took my parents visiting from CT on the PG13 tour today. Tom & Sweet Dee gave us all an experience we will always cherish. The bus was extremely clean, fresh Lysol sprayed prior to folks coming on. Tom & Sweet Dee were funny, answered all our ?s, kept everyone engaged. My cheeks hurt from laughing and we all appreciated the knowledge we learned from the tour. For 90 minutes it was the right amount of info & really makes me appreciate this gorgeous city even more. I am confident to explore more thanks to this tour. Perfect for anyone moving to Charlotte. The tour included history, arts, sports, and architecture. Thank u for offering both pg13 and r tours! Great for all. I really loved learning too about how restaurants and communities within Charlotte support each other. Wish I could stay on this bus all day! The Funny Bus was an incredible way to learn about Charlotte while having fun. We had friends in from out of town for a quick visit, and we wanted to show them the city. I did a search and found the Funny Bus, so I booked it. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day and also a day when some of the streets were blocked off for an event in uptown. But we all had a great time anyway. The comedian (Thomas) was funny and knowledgeable about the Charlotte area and it was obvious that everybody on the bus was having a blast. I'm so glad we decided to go on the Funny Bus, and will definitely recommend it to others. read more

I'm SOOOOO happy we finally rallied the troops to join the Funny Bus tour... we did pick a hot a** day, but Shaine Lane was wonderful and very entertaining. We loved just being able to cruise around the city and see the sights and learn a little history, while laughing and drinking with each other. I would definitely recommend! Brent was our tour guide and he was awesome! He had a good mix of content about the city, the history, things to do, and good places to dine or drink. He was also really good at including different members of our tour group in his stories and activities the whole time. The tour stopped for a "piss break" at Heist Brewery, giving us plenty of time to grab sealed beverages to bring back to the bus. They have bottle openers and a corkscrew on the bus which was very convenient. This show is 17+, and they are clear that no children are allowed. This was a selling point for me, but for others just be sure to keep this in mind. This is a great tour for any out-of-towners, new-to-towners, or if you're like me and are looking for a cool thing to do with your out of town guests. read more

So I gave them three stars not because I didn't enjoy it but it has some challenges. First it's loud. Comedian is on a speaker system. The jokes were ok but I enjoyed more than that the facts about the city. The first half was screens down due to possible rain so it was warm and muggy. Second half was screens up and much better. We did the rated R version so if you are conservative maybe due the other ride. Keep your phone out to take notes on things to do later. Bring cash for the tip. Bring a non alcoholic drinks offering for the driver and comedian. Bring a small cooler with beer or wine. read more

Went on the Funny Bus this weekend with a group of friends and had a great time. J.J. Was our guide and Dee was our driver and they both did a great job ! We had 6 hours in Charlotte after a week long coherence and spent an hour and half on this tour. Boy was it worth it, we laughed and enjoyed a good time thanks to Thomas. Just be prepared to sweat if it's a hot day. It's BYOBeer or Wine and on this tour you hope you see a lot of churches. :) read more

I can't even begin to express how awesome and amazing this experience was. From the moment my friend and I stepped onto the bus to the last second of it being over, I was laughing non-stop. Our bus host, Brandon, was phenomenal. He had fantastic delivery on jokes and overall seemed to enjoy his job 110%. My friend and I weren't from town (visiting from DC) so this was our way of touring Charlotte and boy did you get a beautiful view of it. We went through all the neighborhoods, learned a lot about the history of Charlotte, and just got to enjoy the city without walking a million miles. Oh, and you get to drink on the bus! Nothing like sipping on a cold beer and laughing with a good crowd and host. I can't recommend this enough! You HAVE to check it out when you're in town! And for the founders, you should think of expanding into other cities. It would be a blast here in DC. read more

You can bring own beer & wine on this 90-minute tour through the Queen City. A comedian is your tour guide and performs stand up, improv, plays music games & more as we travel by the Knights Stadium, the Panthers Stadium, the Nascar Hall of Fame, historical buildings, statues and more. The bus goes through several cool & hip neighborhoods including Uptown area, Historic Fourth Ward, South End, Plaza Midwood and the NoDa Arts District. We offer a PG-13 version on Sunday afternoon & our R rated version runs every day. Please go to our website for a current tour schedule.

Our first Tour ran in October, 2015. Since then we've changed the route to highlight more of the cool hip neighborhoods of Charlotte we love to show off and added another bus.

Because of the late start, we didn't get much time at the 7th street market, it didn't feel like the full 30min as claimed in the trip description. Thankfully it wasn't piping hot out since we had to wait 45min standing outside the bus waiting for them to finish setting up, but most folks were annoyed and irritated regardless and it didn't help matters that we were told they were out of two drink options when we were handed the menus, but I would still recommend because it still is a great time to get dressed up with friends. Just hopefully others experiences will start in a timely fashion.

So much fun! This is a must do whether you're a Charlotte local or visiting the city! My fiancé and I have lived in Charlotte for about a year and a half and always see the bus driving around. We finally decided to try it for ourselves when we had some friends come into town and the tour exceeded any expectations we had. The tour bus picked us up and dropped us off near UNC Charlotte Uptown campus. We brought our own beer on the bus. Each row has a cup holder and a bottle opener! The tour guide and the bus driver were fun, friendly, and hilarious. They were engaging throughout the entire tour. Mid-trip we made a pit stop at Heist Brewery to use the bathroom and grab a drink. (Keep in mind there's no bathroom on the bus.) The tour was full of adult humor, interesting facts about the city, and a fun group of people. If you have kids going on the tour with you or just don't like cursing or humor that may be considered vulgar they have a more family friendly tour! I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fund way to spend a few hours touring around Charlotte. read more

This was the second time I took the tour with out-of-town visitors. I was a bit disappointed this time. The 'guide' was very personable, funny, and appeared to really enjoy the guests. In other words, the funny part was good. However, the tour part was weak. We heard about Queen Charlotte but not about the size of Charlotte, the industries in Uptown, etc. We drove by the area with all the murals, but they weren't pointed out never mind who painted them, e.g. residents, outside artists. It seemed like dozens and dozens of restaurants were pointed out including what stop to get off on the Light Rail to get there. I think there needs to be a better balance between funny and tour. Maybe take some time away from the restaurant advertising and travel iinformation. read more

The funny bus is a blast! Great way to see the city and have some fun along the way.. I took the 8:30 pm tour on Friday night with tour guide Thomas. Thomas set the mood from the beginning and by the end of the tour everyone on the bus was having a great time with each other and laughing.. We learned some interesting facts about Charlotte history on the way and were also able to experience Charlotte nightlife first hand as the bus drove through different parts of the city.. most of our bus crowd was from out of town but I have lived here for over 36 years and had no idea how fast this city has grown! I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to get the Charlotte experience from a new and very funny perspective! read more

My girlfriend and I took the Funny Bus Tour this past Saturday October 1st. Thomas was our comedian and he was absolutely fantastic. The experience was one of the most enjoyable I've ever had. Thomas was great at telling jokes which tied into the history of Charlotte as well as the funky songs that were playing. It was 90 minutes full of fun & laughter...with a little Charlotte education sprinkled in between. Everyone on the bus seemed to be enjoying themselves greatly. We had a sensational time & I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves stand-up comedy & who wants to learn more about the city. 5 stars all the way. Who said history can't be funny? My wife Karen and I recently moved to Charlotte and wanted to learn more about the City. On Sunday (8-13-17) we took the Funny Bus Tour for the laughs and local knowledge. We got both and then some. We preferred the R-rated tour, which allows BYO beer and wine and excludes kids. Our stand-up comic and host for the day was J. D. Colwell. He supplied plenty of laughs with just the right amount of actual City history. Ms. Kanika drove our bus safely and expertly. They made the 90-minute adventure fly by. The Funny Bus is a joyride around downtown with a bunch of folks primed for wisecracks. We're at the halfway point of the Funny Bus tour in Charlotte, and I just have to say... this is absolutely hilariously amazing! Shane is absolutely killing it, keeping the whole bus laughing with his quick wit and hilarious storytelling. He makes learning about the city just as fun as the comedy itself. The energy on this bus is incredible, and with everyone bringing their own drinks, it feels like one big party (we are partaking in the Rated R tour). Shane's timing and delivery are perfect, making sure everyone is engaged and having a blast. If you're ever in Charlotte, you have to do this. We're only halfway through, and I already know I'll be back for another ride! read more

A must do for those with a sense of humor and looking to have a great time! My husband and I were in town for a weekend away, I read the Funny Bus was a great thing to do for some fun and exploring around the city of Charlotte. We laughed the entire time and loved all the things we learned about the city. Our comedian was Thomas and he was fantastic. His jokes ranged from all levels to get everyone of all ages and genders to laugh at some point! Rita was our bus driver and was able to get us through the city even when there was a ton of Friday afternoon concert traffic. 10/10 recommend. We even talked about doing it again if we ever came back to Charlotte! read more

We spent the weekend in Charlotte to celebrate our 10 year anniversary We booked the funny bus for a fun event. We really had a great time! The comedian Thomas and driver Dee were great!!! The jokes and and bits of history were fun to hear. Adult content, but not over the top, so it was hilarious yet done in good taste. Half way through the us stopped at a market shop and we were able to purchase more beverages and snacks. We highly recommend the funny bus to anyone visiting Charlotte and looking for a great time! The pick up spot is also within a few blocks of many hotels u could stay at for yr visit, which makes it super convenient to just walk over. read more

Not only is the excursion informative about uptown Charlotte, nearby communities and local hotspots, you will have plenty of laughs with the interactive tour guide who leads the session. I was looking for something different to do for me and the boyfriend. After some digging, I came across The Funny Bus and I'm glad I did! We had a great time and lots of laughs. JJ was hilarious and I learned some things about Charlotte that I didn't know. (And I am from Charlotte!) We chose the R rated tour and it was great. Nothing offensive at all. We are in our forties and we took our niece and her boyfriend who are in their twenties and they enjoyed it as well. Absolutely a must!! Great way to see parts of Charlotte that you would not necessarily have seen on your own. Shain was a HiLArious guide who loves all aspects of the Queen City. April, the "chauffeur" is great with maneuvering that bus throughout the city streets. Be prepared to listen carefully for there "may or may not" be a quiz at the end. For those 21 and over ~ feel free to bring your beverages on board. They can come in quite handy as you progress through the tour. read more

I came into town to visit my best friend and we had an absolute blast on this! BYOB was an added awesome feature. Our MC, Roxanne, was not only so professional but absolutely hilarious. Thomas and Rita were awesome! Rita as driver could get anywhere safely, smoothly, and negotiate the worst traffic with ease. Thomas as the comedian kept all 36 of us laughing constantly, with great humor, engagement, and intelligence. Visiting my sister's family in Charlotte and they planned this sightseeing tour. And what a tour it was! Tom was not only informative but hysterically funny. Very interactive with the tourists and kept everyone laughing. We took the "rated r" tour which it definitely was but thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Thomas was hilarious. Andrew did a great job of driving around the city. It's not easy I know. Fun and engaging crowd. Music and singing (well, I was anyway). My 2nd time. I always bring my out of state guests. Trips are rated "R", so is you're "sensitive", try the PG tour. Highly recommend. You'll see parts of Charlotte and learn things you probably didn't know. JJ had us all in stitches during the entire tour! It was an action-packed 90 minutes - informative, engaging, and fun! Be sure to bring your own adult beverage if you want to indulge during the tour - though we did stop at a brewery in NoDa, in case you come unprepared, like my group did.
