This is one of the greatest arcade areas to go out, and have fun for the day. The mini golf, and the arcade games are my favorite activities to do at Funtasticks. The staff is semi rude they dont tell you anything like in when you pay there is no refunds and all sales are final ...they tried to give me a voucher to come back after I paid $77.00 dollars for what I thought was a bigger water park as to what their website shows. Ok so fantastics has been around for as long as I can remember, its old school Tucson and its a little run down which is why I did 4 stars instead of 5 but I really enjoy the Mini golf here, its 10 per person. definitely go around sunset and I promise the views won't disappoint! They have the cactus springs which was an amazing recent addition to fantastics, they have water boats, a rock climbing wall, go carts, arcade games and laser tag. A great family fun place! The wristbands are affordable and our kids had the time of their life. The arcade games don't record the ticket accuracy so lucky O took videos and able to prove our kids won the 150+ tickets otherwise Im not sure they would have honored the digital ticket miscount. The worker at the golf carts just sat off to the side on his cell phone too far away to communicate with as we just stood there for 10 minutes or more. This review is for Cactus Springs waterpark. My daughter who is 6 and had a great time there to beat the Summer heat. She loved the 5 slides and overall, it was extremely safe. My main issue is that an adult, even if you do not plan to use the waterpark, has to pay full price, even if you don't go in the water. There were grandparents in front of us in line that brought their grandchildren and were told that they had to pay full price to just go in and watch. Insane! In the past, Funtasticks offered a $5 chaperone pass which is totally understandable. Not full price. We will not be coming back this summer. read more

Looking at the reviews and recent photos for this place, I expected trashed-out mini-golf in desperate need of repair. Nope. They've clearly refurbished the two courses - not a rip or tear in the fabric to be seen. I was prepared to rate this mini-golf well below that of Golf n' Stuff, which is also in good repair. DON'T COME FOR MINI GOLF! The mini golf here is not good quality!!! There is ripped up turf, there are areas with mismatched levels of turf that makes it hard for the ball to go smoothly, there's a hole in a dark cave with ZERO lighting, there's a hole that ate one of our balls (instead of going down the ramp, the ramp is broken and we saw multiple balls hiding stuck in there), and the area is just plain dirty and not well taken care of. My hands got so dusty and dirty from picking up the golf ball between holes. Either there is dirt in the hole itself or on the turf, or both. And not to mention, the score card only goes up to 9 holes! Even though there is two sets of 18 holes. Google says they close at 8 and Yelp says they close at 11, but at 7:15 an employee came up to us and said they're closed and we should wrap up. Me and my date still had a fun time while laughing at the quality, but don't come out of your way here. Another funny thing is they kept playing an instrumental version of Crawling by Lincoln Park on repeat over by the go kart racing, very odd hahaha. read more

We finally got to enjoy our grandsons birthday party after a cancelation due to an electrical incident due to a car crash. We were impressed by the park itself. Was very clean. We took our daughter for her birthday and was sadly very disappointed! The place is rough not sure why the owners haven't updated anything, everything was dirty, games didn't work or stole our money couldn't find anyone to help. Nothing is explained what so ever the wrist bands are way over priced just to ride the bumper cars and bumper boats! There was only one worker outside the entire time, it was a 90+ degree day and we never seen him get relived by another employee he was nice to us, but you could sense his frustration! Overall, the visit was a frustrating experience. I was surprised at how short-staffed they were, and how inefficiently things were run. For example, there were 7 rides/attractions outside, manned by a total of 3 PEOPLE. If you wanted to go on a ride that wasn't manned, you had to wait in front of it and hope that one of the 3 staffers noticed you, left the other ride they were manning, and came to help. I honestly wasn't sure if the deserted rides were open, or what was going on. It was confusing at first, and then frustrating as I realized the actual situation. That they just don't have enough people to work the rides. The three staffers outside were pretty cheerless. They did not seem happy to be there at all. Inside were the arcade games and Laser Tag. I walked up to the laser tag area and it was also deserted. So, I went to the front desk and tried to get someone's attention. It took a few minutes of patiently waiting before I asked loudly, "Um, how do I play laser tag?" I was told to just stand in front of the laser tag area and wait for someone to see me. They'll come to help. I did not feel confident that anyone would see me there, but gave it a shot. After 5-10 minutes of waiting (that's a long time with young kids) and no one so much as glancing in our direction, I couldn't take it any longer. I complained. I hate, hate, hate being that 'Karen guy', but I couldn't help myself. At the front desk, I was able to get the attention of the early-20's woman who seemed to be in charge. I explained, very politely, that I was pretty frustrated, and overall disappointed with Funtasticks. She was very nice and apologetic. She acknowledged that they were indeed short-staffed, and blamed that on the fact that they miscalculated how many visitors would attend today. Ok... She gave me a free pass for 3 people to visit again in the future. That was a nice thing to do. I don't think I'll take her up on it, but who knows? Oh, also, we ordered food. It took an unreasonably long time for the two mini-pizzas for the kids to arrive. After what seemed like 20 minutes of pacing in front of the kitchen area, I walked up and asked (again, very politely) if the food would be coming out soon. After some thought, they told me that my food was waiting under a heat lamp, about 3 feet away. WTF??? I asked how long it had been there. "Oh, not long," they said. Was anybody going to tell me the food was ready? I assume not... Anyway, here's the good part about Funtasticks: The kids had fun. They liked the arcade games, which ended up costing me an extra $40 or so. And they liked the go-karts and laser tag, which we eventually did play. They also liked the frog-hop ride. The best way to describe the go-karts is, "The speed is capped to be fast enough that you're not bored, but slow enough that no one in your party will want to ride it more than once." We didn't play miniature golf. And the water park doesn't open until closer to summer. So I can't comment on either of those. In conclusion, despite my frustration, it wasn't the worst place in the world. The kids, after all, enjoyed themselves. Maybe I'll try out the water park in the summer. I went yesterday with some of my friends, and i had a very pleasant experience with the front staff member, Analucia. She took her time explaining everything to me and made the overall funtasticks experience that much better. She was funny while being helpful and nice while still staying on the topic of her job. You can tell she knows what she is doing and her upbeat personality helped us stay in a good mood through the heat. Will definitely be returning because of Analucias patience with us!:) read more

This place is a hot mess! Young people running the place with little to no type of oversight or support. When games don't work you have to go and hunt for someone to help you We have a 4 yo with us and literally there are maybe 2 games she could play, and talking about games, after 3 games $5 is GONE, and of course spending more $$ to reload for marginal games Then the outside, the outside food bar, no attendant for a while.. Honestly I know the price is "reasonable" however it doesn't excuse the lack of staff, broken arcade games and no games for little ones I definitely would pass this place up if you have kiddos under 6, OR short in height! It was disappointing to see so many broken video games and attractions during peak season, but even more disappointing that they were selling tickets ($10 each!) for a ride that they knew was broken (Cosmo jets.) The controls to move the pod up and down didn't work in all but one of the pods, and neither did the controls to play the on-screen video game. When I tried to get a refund for 3 of our 4 tickets (since only the one worked,) the employee rolled her eyes at me, pointed to the "all sales are final" sign and said she'd go get a manager but she doubted it would make a difference. I told her not to bother and asked her to at least let the manger know that the ride was broken. Her "I definitely will" was not at all convincing. In my experience, it's best to not show open disdain for customers, but what do I know? I can't possibly have been the first person to complain, so it's unfortunate that they've chosen to charge customers to use it instead of shutting it down and getting it fixed. The bright spot was the recently re-turfed mini golf course (although the rest of the course features were in noticeable disrepair.) I wish I could say we'd be back, but that's not likely. read more

We have been coming here for years, but it has been about 6 years since our last visit. This place has gone downhill. It's not worth the money. The bathrooms are disgusting with fly traps to try to help the situation. The bathrooms are filthy. The miniature golf was so run down. The carpets are splitting and the landscaping is almost nonexistent because it's all on the putting greens. The go karts were ok, but not all of them worked great. We go out there to compete with each other, but when your kart is slow, it sucks! Most of the games were not working and were out of order. This will be our last time visiting. We had a wonderful visit with our six-year old granddaughter and took advantage of many of the parks' amenities. Despite the large number of less than positive reviews, we found the park to be clean and updated. The putt-putt course appeared to be in good condition and most everything in the park worked with the exception of a handful of arcade games. The only thing we saw that some could considered a negative was that we had to wait for a bit for a ride attendant to arrive. We highly recommend this park for family fun. I'm sure kids get stoked for this place, but as someone who just wants to enjoy some mini golf it's a nightmare. I'm no expert on the activity, but I'm pretty sure it's widely considered as bad when a third of the holes have ripped up turf. And when another third of the holes--anything with a decorative structure like a castle or cave--are so dark at night that you will barely even be able to see your ball, let alone where you're supposed to put it. I still had some fun (because I won!) so I'm not *that* upset, but I'm not in a rush to come back. I noticed the reviews complaining about disrepair have been going on for quite some time, so that tells me Funtasticks is committed to doing the bare minimum to provide a good experience. read more

Our family -- consisting of 2 adults and children ages 5, 8, and 13 -- tried Funtasticks on a sunny winter afternoon. We had to walk around someone who appeared incapacitated to get to the entrance. Not a great start. Since it was breezy and cool, the Bumper Boats and Cactus Springs were not operating. Most of KiddieLand also was closed. The desk staff didn't volunteer this information, but we asked what was open. We ended up purchasing go-kart tickets and an arcade card. Many reviewers have commented about the price of food. We told the kids we weren't getting any refreshments there since we had dinner plans, and they were good about it. Due to height/age restrictions, the 5 and 8 each had to ride the go-karts with a parent. Although the staff wasn't overly-friendly, the line moved pretty quickly, and the kids had a good time. They didn't run into any non-working arcade games, and found a few that got them enough e-tickets for some trinkets at the counter. We all like the Main Event in Gilbert more, but Funtasticks is in town, and we'd go again for a few hours of fun. read more

We bought a vip pass, $50. He went on the water park I went with him because it said he had to be supervised. Then told me I had to leave or pay $10 for me to watch him. 3 different video games was not working that took our money. I advised them of this and they said they would tell someone but did not reimburse us. Said he was not tall enough for the sky track even though his head was even with the mark. He had a good time but I had to pay another $10 so he could enjoy his $45 VIP pass.... Won't go again read more

Im wondering if the manager is also a kid. This place could be so much better if the employees actually worked. Seems more of a hang out spot to me. Come to work hang out and chill. We came to enjoy the water park section and the tables were filthy from when Im assuming the day prior, I hope. nothing like spending $400+ for a family birthday party in July just to discover the business owners are completely unconcerned with keeping the building air conditioned. We got here at 10:30 shortly after they opened, and the main building with the arcades was already a sweltering nightmare of humidity. It only got worse as time went on. As a business owner you have a responsibility to your patrons to provide a safe climate indoors for your patrons to enjoy the service you are providing, so when it's July in Tucson and it's more comfortable OUTSIDE at NOON than it is inside your building--you as the business owner are the problem. I grew up coming to Funtasticks and wanted to pass those memories on to my children. Unfortunately the summertime experience was awful. My six year old spent his birthday crying because it was so hot he couldn't have fun. We will not be back unless it's winter. I hope I read somewhere one day that the establishment has been updated to provide a comfortable and safe atmosphere. All the other indoor play places like Wildkatz manage to do it, so Funtastiks should be able to as well. read more

Funtasticks has been around for as long as I've been alive, maybe longer. It's always been one of the fun places for young people along with Skate Country and Golf N Stuff. I decided to take my boy here on a Sunday, and needless to say we had a blast. The place hasn't changed much and I'm actually pretty glad about that. The go-karts were always my jam, I was really stoked to get on that track and show my son how it's done LOL! With the mall right across the street, it was easy to go enjoy a meal at Cheesecake Factory. I really hate that the past reviews are mostly about the young employees. They're teenagers okay, it's probably their first job for some of em. It just doesn't seem like there's much for them to do besides guide the customers and open and close gates and serve food, things of that sort. Don't go places looking for everything wrong and only take note of the negatives. Your review can be absolutely misleading to others who don't look for much and just wanna have a good time outside of home. Like dude, if you brought kids.. did your kids have fun? That's all that matters in my opinion. If you got kids and wanna take em out of the house, Funtasticks is a great place. read more

Took my son and his friends for his 16th birthday. So glad we did NOT get the unlimited pass!! No way We are waiting 3 hours to ride twice!! We opted to get one go cart and one laser tag ticket each then go to Golf N Stuff for everything else. There is a line for regular cars and one for the fast ones that require a helmet. He waited over an hour in line to ride the go carts because the people running the ride let the fast cars go every other time allowing people to ride again and again with no wait time. The park is fine, the customer service however....We went there LESS that a month ago and I was charged for chicken wings when I bought my pass for the kids. I just noticed the overcharge and called there to see if they would refund me for something I didn't buy. Was was told they couldn't because it was 30 days. We went on the 7th of July and today is the 4th. When I noted that, I got well it's in 4 days so no, we won't do anything about it. I know its 12 bucks, but if you really want to lose a customer because you are too lazy to fix an overcharge within the time frame? I lived in Tucson when Funtasticks was built.i used to love going there as much as possible, especially because it was closer to where I lived than Golf n Stuff I even applied for a job there when I turned 18 (never got called back) because I had experience as an arcade tech on my personal time. After about 20 years, and coming back to town with my son for the first time to visit Funtasticks, I was completely crestfallen. The lobby was in complete disarray. Queues were not clearly marked. The signage slideshows were designed with impossibly small type and set to change images too rapidly to read. Oversized arcade machines were placed protruding the footpaths where they should not be. We asked for 3 games of laser tag for our party and were charge for three individual games instead of the multiple-at-a-discount rate. The attendant at lasertag made no effort whatsoever to explain the rules or assist anyone with the equipment. They didn't even ensure everyone had exited the hallway before shutting the rope-chain right in front of us. It was an utterly disgraceful lack of give-a-shit in every way. Then we went to the arcade. $30 for $50 in credit sounds great, then you walk down to the arcade and discover that 20% of the games have an out of order sign on, another 20% of the games are horribly and visibly broken but have broken components anyway but are unmarked, another 20% were working but unmaintained (deflated basketballs, empty crane games), another 20% appeared to work but fail to credit your tickets to your card properly, leaving only about 1/5th of the games actually functioning to spec and reporting redemption rewards correctly. A protruding screw from one game even tore a hole in my shirt. Don't believe me? It was obvious he had been dealing with exactly this kind of thing for as long as he had been there. Their kindness at the end of our experience was the difference between us leaving peacefully and disputing charges with my credit card company. This was a complete disappointment from an establishment that used to be very nice and clean. I can't even imagine what the rest of the attractions are like, it was too dark to see them. Some strangers were even allowed to begin blocking the only egress from the arcade to solicit customers for donations. Funtasticks is in dire need of a consultant to help them identify the equipment and personnel they can no longer afford to maintain, and replace/remove all of them accordingly. Either that, or new ownership/management entirely. It was saddening to see a Tucson landmark in such terrible condition. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is not only poorly run, it is also a major rip off. Most people in Tucson already know this...but if you're just visiting, go to the Desert Museum instead. Don't try to play laser tag, it never works. If you manage to wait in line for an hour to get in, your game will be super short. Food is over priced and takes forever to be made. You're lucky if they even have ketchup. My brother planned his sons birthday party here and it was a mega disappointment. I'm not bagging on all the young kids working here, there's no one qualified to train them in dealing with large crowds. I'm leaving 2 stars just for the water feature. Every ingredient else about this place is a huge disappointment. Sad. If you like terrible conditions, filthy bathrooms, employees who don't care, arcade games not working , terrible food, and oh and a ghetto parking lot then please bring your family for the most overpriced time of your life. Sad the NW side has nothing like Main Event or Dave and Busters My 7 year old son and I were slammed and kept getting hit by the gas-powered lawn mower cars even though there are strict rules to not do that , none of the staff enforced it...not strict then just because it's posted. My only thought was who is running this place... no one was friendly or happy to be doing work. The water park part was the best part, but I honestly think you could just walk in off the street and use it without paying for an arm band. No one cared to check. The staff is friendly and the place is ideal for kids but the only issue is that the parents who bring their children here sometimes don't train them so it's easy to catch a case at this location, I was in the kiddie bumper boats with my 2 year old son and I'm 4 months pregnant, I was in the water minding my business when 3 Caucasian children and their 2 Caucasian parents got in the water with us and began assaulting us, their kids stood up on the kiddie boats and began to splash us directly with the water instead of using the jet sprays, well I almost got up and kicked the mess out that kid until I caught myself and had to scream for help! Staff did absolutely nothing and continued to let the Caucasian's play in the water and when I realized that I would receive no real help for staff I immediately left completely upset!
