That whole St. Philip's area always has a great energy, and UPH is a big part of that. There's usually a crowd, live music or sports on, and it feels like one of those places where you can bring friends from out of town and know it'll be a fun time. Food is consistently solid. The grilled chicken sandwich is my go-to and it's good every time. We both usually get one, and a lot of the time we'll add buffalo wings, which are some of our favorites in Tucson. Good flavor, good texture, and always reliable. If anything, the wings could always use a little more sauce, but they're still one of the better orders on the menu. The only real issue, and it happens pretty often, is the service speed. Everyone there is friendly, but the place always feels understaffed, especially when it's busy. We've had multiple times sitting outside in the Arizona heat where it takes 15-20 minutes just to get water to the table, and you start wondering if you should go up to the bar yourself to get things moving. Once service gets going everything is fine, but getting that first round of attention can take longer than it should for how often this place fills up. Even with that, we keep coming back. The food is consistent, the atmosphere is great, and the plaza has a real sense of community that makes it easy to hang out there for a while. It's one of our go-to spots in Tucson, and it's still somewhere we bring friends when they're visiting. Food 7.5 Ambience 8 Service 7 Price 7 7.4 overall C Great place to spend time, just don't expect everything to happen quickly when it's busy.

When we arrived, the host said our reservation was pushed back and was still for 2.... Which was odd. I ordered a plain margarita light on the simple syrup. DELICIOUS. I would come back for happy hr. I ordered the hotdog and wanted the bun toasted on the grill. Bun came steamed even tho I emphasized wanted it grilled on the open side. Hotdog also came barely warm. It was not a pleasant experience. I did not eat it. I also ordered truffle fries, which were bland and had zero flavor. Everything needed salt. The truffle mayo tasted like mayo. A little truffle and no garlic. Mostly mayo flavor tho. My friends enjoyed their food. I tasted and thought it was okay. Service was interesting. Our waitress was having a bad day and it was obvious.

We ordered two classic burgers, regular fries, and truffle fries--everything was absolutely delicious. The truffle fries were easily some of the best I've ever had! And don't even get me started on the shakes--the vanilla and chocolate are hands down the best we've had so far. Truly a sweet tooth paradise. The service made the experience even better. Our server was genuinely kind and attentive--the definition of great customer service. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly, and we even had a nice chat with who we think was a manager as we were leaving. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and well-organized. We'll definitely be back to try the mushroom and Swiss burger and maybe even some salads next time!

So the building looks dated and so are the turn into the business/parking lot, but don't let that stop you from great food and service. The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio and that's clear in advance, and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had marrow before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and then the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

From the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly left, we never felt like guests. We felt genuinely welcomed. Every interaction reminded us that hospitality isn't just something your staff does. It's who they are. Our dinner at the Grill with Nick was one of the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had. His professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were extraordinary. He seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even knew we needed it, and his recommendations, along with the pairings from the house sommelier, elevated an already incredible meal into an unforgettable evening. The food was exceptional, but sharing it while watching the sun disappear over the horizon made it feel almost magical. It's one of those evenings we'll talk about for years. The next morning, Cal made brunch every bit as memorable. So many resorts save their best effort for dinner and let breakfast become an afterthought. Not here. The quality of the menu, the freshness of the ingredients, and the level of service were every bit as impressive. It was another reminder that excellence isn't reserved for special occasions at your resort. It's simply your standard. Preston continued that experience the following day, and Steve, our host, welcomed us with the kind of kindness that instantly makes you feel at home. Steve is one of those people who genuinely love what they do because they're that good, and they make you feel welcome. There's something special about walking into a room and feeling like people are genuinely happy you're there. That's exactly how your team made us feel. One of our favorite memories came from spending time at the Terraza Garden Lounge with Ethan. By the second visit, he already remembered our favorite drinks and greeted us like old friends. Those small moments may seem insignificant, but they're the moments people remember long after the vacation ends. They create connections that no beautiful building or incredible view ever could. Yes, your resort is stunning. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are immaculate, and every corner feels like a postcard. But if someone asked us what truly sets this place apart, our answer wouldn't be the scenery. It's your people. They create an experience that can't be manufactured or copied. They make visitors feel valued, cared for, and genuinely welcome. That's a rare gift, and it's what will bring us back year after year. I'll admit there was a small part of me that almost didn't want to write this review because I selfishly wanted to keep this little slice of heaven our own secret. But the people who made our stay so special deserve recognition. Thank you for creating memories we'll carry with us long after this trip ends. We'll be back.

The scenery is worth a million bucks. But what would put this all together? The food. The food would make this unbeatable. But unfortunately the food is below average and amateurish if I'm being honest. The drinks were the best things I had. None of the food wowed me. I had the swordfish special and it was dry and unseasoned. The risotto was okay, cooked well, but flavor was blandish. The au gratin potatoes were burnt and flavorless. The Crimini mushrooms were bland. Overall just poor food and shoddy cooking dressed up to look amazing. I was wholly disappointed and can't understand what people see in the food. Only getting 3 stars since it does nearly everything else well. It's also worth noting that I spent $202 on everything and I could've did better at Red Lobster for about half of that. I get that you're paying for location and experience in part, but having bad food for so much money should be a crime. Avoid this place if you're hungry, or if you actually like good food, but it's worth it for a good drink.
