We learned about Spookly the Pumpkin and enjoyed the most amazing pumpkin popsicles on the planet. We came back this month for the Blueberries. SO FUN. Yes, wear boots, especially after rain. The property is luscious with trees and a creek. They also have bee hives you can observe (from a safe distance). The blueberry popsicles are amazing. All four flavors of Spring popsicles were delicious. We had a popsicle "flight" and tried them all! Restrooms are porta-potties with a hand washing pump sink, so come prepared with your little tot oxo car potty if you're like me and would rather take littles to the car to potty. The owner, Jill, is such a gracious host. She is delightful and enjoys meeting everyone! We got my Dad a block of blueberry fudge, and he said it was the best fudge he has ever eaten (which is saying a lot!!!) The food on the day of the wedding was delicious. The charcuterie table was like nothing I've seen...beautiful and made you eat with your eyes. But the journey to get there? Aye yi yi. The tasting was a disaster. My sister called me after crying that it was so bad they couldn't serve it to their guests and wanted a different caterer. We were told emphatically we couldn't. Her fiancée asked me if maybe they forgot they were coming and just pulled stuff from the fridge. They didn't feel that they were taken seriously when giving feedback about how bad the food was. The problem is that you have to work with Angela, the "Venue/Catering Manager" of the Castle. This is a problem for many reasons: 1) She has absolutely no understanding of food. Or catering, or pricing, or her venue. (She told us that they serve jumbo shrimp with fajitas, when in fact, they serve BAY shrimp, which is what you get in a 99 cent cocktail in Vegas, among the tons of other nonsensical information) 2) Almost every single question that was asked of her, she had to ask the chef, her boss (the owner, Doug), Alfredo the ops manager. You would think that after 25 years with this company, she would have a better understanding of this company and her venue 2) She will definitively tell you that she is not the wedding coordinator. (Not exactly sure what her role is.). She did NOTHING on the day of the event except hide in her office. 3) There was no follow up after the wedding with an invoice, receipt, "thank you for coming", "how was everything", etc In summary: This is a beautiful venue and the onsite staff are terrific. But if you are not a seasoned catering person, please hire someone who is, to do the planning with Angela.

I did not know that it was past time for the bar to close; if they would have simply pointed that out, it would have been perfectly fine. Instead, I was told by one bartender that she would not serve me. I went to the next one, and the mother of the bride ordered my drink for me. The second bartender started making my drink and the first bartender made him pour it out. So weird. Meanwhile, she's making drinks for another guest. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. My beautiful friend and bride chose to have her wedding here…read more Pros: Beautiful venue Cons: 1) 1st consultation for booking Katy mentioned she would be available for questions and minor extras if needed - she was no where to be found for questions and when she did arrive, she took no ownership in prior arrangements (tables, wine chillers, lighting, easel, ect were not set up or readily available per prior discussion). 2) Contract requested security onsite for venue; plan for another extra expense (which is kinda tacky)! I'm sure Katy will respond and say that my friend signed a contract agreeing to pay for Security. That is correct - I'm mentioning so that other brides are aware of the expense. 3) Contract also stated to accommodate food for "thier staff 10-15ppl" we did at $90.00pp, but only venue staff onsite were there for shuttling guests to cars 2 to 3 attendants max. That's an excess of $900 that they profited in addition to the $5k already spent. 4) If we had known items would not be available or venue manager would be absent we would have scheduled another hour to not feel rushed or unsettled especially for this type of event.

The manager Cynthia took care of all our needs. She made our vision come to light. The owner David was great as well. Very friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and clean.
